Took my car in for replacement of break pads under warranty. Was told it would cost $400 to replace rotors, labor for pads under warranty, and resurfacing of rear breaks. It seemed high, but I knew it was probably time to replace rotters. They tried to up-sell me on stupid things like the cabin air filter (see below), and a few other dumb things. I always hate these up-sells. $400 should be enough for one day. As for the the cabin air filter - it takes less than 5 minutes to change, is accessible from inside the car, and can be bought for $10 at a parts store. These places usually want $40-60 to change (I cant recall what Midas quoted, but it was high). And what in the world are they looking at my cabin air filter for when I came in for a break job? Just take care of what I asked for and get me out the door please. But, the reason I am knocking the review down a few stars is that a week after the installation I started hearing a metal clanking sound every time the front left tire hit a bump. Breaks were grinding too. Midas wanted me to bring it back. I live 45 minutes away I didnt want to do damage by driving too far. I had also lost some confidence in Midas. So I took it to a great auto-shop by my house. It turns out a bolt was completely missing in one of the break calipers. Things can happen - it is certainly possible it shook loose from vibration. But, in only a week I wouldnt expect that. It makes me wonder about the quality of the repairs I received. This may not be the norm for this shop. I may have just been unlucky. Nobody is perfect and I dont want to ding them too bad for one mistake. But, I am posting this review so others can see if it is a pattern with this shop. On the plus side, customer service was good. They were super friendly. I just recommend that they get away from up-selling and make sure bolts are tightened properly.

I first took my car into this shop because the front end was making a strange noise. They looked at it and told me I needed new tires (which I did) and that this "might" fix the noise. Four new tires and an alignment later the noise was still there-- so I took the car back. They told me they couldnt find anything wrong. Took it back again two weeks later and they told me that the bushings just needed some WD-40 and that I should give it a day to "soak" in (WTF?). Took the car to a different shop (non-Midas) and after looking at it briefly they told me I had a broken steering arm. Jump ahead six months-- one of my rear tires blows out on the freeway. When I put on the donut I notice that the tire is completely worn down to the metal on the inside. I check the other back tire and it looked just as bad. I had put about 6,000 miles on the tires. Took them back to Midas and they said that since I hadnt rotated them (they told me to do it every 5,000 miles) the warranty was void and they would not replace the tires, but that I could buy new tires and an alignment from them full price, no problem. I paid $40 more than the quote they gave me just to go elsewhere. Will never go back.

I dont understand all the negative reviews! I went here for a brake job yesterday and they were nothing but helpful and kind. I ended up having to spend a lot more than I originally thought - but they helped me out, finding every possible way for me to save some money. They gave me a discount for having to wait and unplanned repairs, and even waived the labor on the extra parts! Tech helped me consider every available option and walked me though the entire process, even going as far as taking me into the shop and showing/telling me specifically what was being done and why. Service went above and beyond, I was treated like a valued customer instead of just another number: Highly recommend this shop! :)

Two years ago I bought a package deal for my RSX that basically gave me oil and oil filter changes for two years at a really good price. I jumped on it and was using them to change my oil for almost the entire two years. Today, I took my car into a different shop (Accuracy auto sales, VERY good auto shop) and amongst some other things, they changed my oil for me. After five minutes he walked in and informed me that the oil filter had not been changed since the last time he had it. Over two years ago. Thank you Midas for putting a LOT of excess wear and tear on my engine so that you could save a $4.00 part. if you care about your car, dont bring it here

This is the best auto shop that I have been to. I know, crazy that it is a random Midas location, right? I take both my vehicles here whenever there is an issue. I typically deal with Aaron when I am there. Without a doubt he is the most honest mechanic that I have ever dealt with. He tells you what work needs to be done and doesnt charge you for a bunch of unnecessary work or try to "upsell" what you ask him to do. On those rare occasions that I have to take my car elsewhere (e.g. for body work) I always dread it. And, in fact, I am taking my car to this Midas this week for a second opinion on something that the body shop guys told me.

I have only ever had a good experience with Midas. They are always honest and upfront about the work that they do on my car, and they almost always have some of the best prices in town. I had to get the clutch replaced on my Mazdaspeed 6 and they charged $1,000 LESS than Bountiful Mazda, who sold me the vehicle. They always do a thorough, honest inspection of my car and do not try and suck more money out of me by doing unnecessary work. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they do a great job of taking care of my vehicle in a timely manner. One of the best auto repair shops that Ive ever been to.

HONEST assessment of my Subaru. I went to a different Midas on 902 S Main for Safety & IM, and they told me that I desperately needed new brakes. I didnt have time to get them done, so a few weeks later I went to this Midas on 6180 S State, and Aaron did a brake inspection and told me that I had full life on my front brakes and over half life on my rear. He said I didnt need new brakes. He will get my future business. Avoid the Midas on 902 S Main like the plague.

Rip off for sure. Went there with a $30 off $300 service coupon from the Midas website. Had brakes fixed for almost $500. Aaron Hoglund the "manager" REFUSED to take the coupon stating, "We already gave you a deal" and "we can raise the prices on the invoice if you want to use the coupon". Wow! I should have just gone to a shop closer to where I lived. Will NEVER use Midas again for anything and will spread the word.
