I took my 1994 Oldsmobile Achieva S in for service, at the 9319 S. 700 E. location in Sandy, Utah, to have the rear shocks replaced. I was acknowledged by the gentleman at the counter who said he would be right with me. He was helping another customer. Within a minute or two, the General Manager saw me waiting and asked if he could help me. I went over to one of the small counters by the service waiting room and he got my information. He was very attentive. Right after he got my information and request, another gentleman came walking right up and the General Manager informed him of my service needs. This gentleman then took over and ended up giving me a quote. My car was taken in within minutes and it was only a short time before they gave me the results. My car needed shocks on the rear, my right front tire showed wear and my breaks were ok, but the front ones will need to be replaced soon. They only focused on repair of the shocks. I was totally pleased that they did only what I requested, but informed me of other things I needed to be aware about, without pushing for more repair work. When I came back in to pick up the car, I complemented them on the attentive service. The General Manager noticed he could give me a discount of $56.40. That brought the cost to 134.08. That helped save me money on repair costs. I was THRILLED! I then asked him if they did A/C service. He said yes, but then began to get information as to what sort of specification standard my A/C complied with. He said they could get me upgraded if my car didnt have the new standard. l told him I would find out and that I would be back to have my car serviced, because of the job they did. The next day I received a follow-up call from Joe, who wanted to see how the car was running and to find out if I had any questions/concerns. I was thrilled with their follow-up. The car runs so smootly now and they did a superb job! I want to specifically mention four names. Morgan Johnson, the General Manager, Heath Lowry, who entered the information, Patrick Bouge who did the repair and Joe who did the follow up. They are a great team and I believe this specific location should do all they can to keep these gentleman employed at this location. I am 42 years old and have dealth with a lot of mechanic shops over the years. This was the best experience of my life! It was absolutely a pleasure and this location will receive my business in the future. Sincerely, Justin Snyder Sandy, Utah

Very bad experience. Went in a week ago for a scheduled oil change on a Saturday morning. The shop was not busy at all, but for some reason I still needed to wait for an hour, just for an oil change. What really was disappointing, was that ever since the oil change, our cars low oil light came on. There was no obvious oil leak at our home parking spot, no unusual smoke coming out of the car whatsoever, but light stayed on, and the engine oil had to be going somewhere. Eventually we had to take the car to another shop to look at, and realized pepboys didnt put the oil filter on correctly, and oil has been leaking within, to another part of the car. It was bad. We couldnt believe a simple oil change would turn into damaging the engine and taking some mileage off it. In conclusion, unprofessional service, long wait, but still couldnt get a simple thing done, like installing oil filter back correctly. Not worth the time and the risk, chain auto shop could be a hit and miss sometimes, and this location is obviously a miss. Been to a place called "Reliable Auto" just down the road since then, cheap price, and technicians there actually take care of your car because every business counts to them. I will never go back to pepboys.

My car battery would not jump. Realizing I needed a new battery to get home I was relieved that a PepBoys was in the next parking lot over. I walked in with my two young kids in tow and explained the situation. The 2 men behind the counter told me that I would have to have it towed over to them. (I see in the post below they do it for $20 but they didnt mention that) Really? Its 100 yards away and you cant just bring a professional battery charger to at least get it into your parking lot? Or walk a new battery over? Then they said that even if I was able to get it towed over there they werent sure they would get to me in time. They didnt close for another 3 hours! They were very flippant and there was not apology or concern for how we would make it home. Jerks. I went to Steves Automotive Specialists right next door and they were closing in 20 min and still managed to help me, with out having it towed! They walked a battery charger over and then I drove it to their shop so they could replace the battery! They have my business from now on. This PepBoys was just rude.

OMG stay away from this location!!!! We took our car in for front and rear brakes repair which was to include draining the old break fluid and adding new break fluid. Two days after we had our brakes done we went to have our oil changed and the mechanic asked us to have our brake fluid changed. WHAT??? He confirmed by showing us that our brake fluid was never changed. We went back to PepBoys to get a refund for the charging us for the brake fluid change and the manager on site that day indicated that the mechanic said that our rear calipers seized and that they could not change our fluid. BUT they charged us for it anyway. We got our refund and PEPboys said we needed our calipers replaced, but we took our car back to the oil change site and they were able to change our brake fluid and confirmed that our rear calipers had not seized. If I could sue this location I would. Customer BEWARE of their faulty deceitful work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I learned one thing today at pepboys. If you know the men working there then you get the best service ever. However if u dont know anyone there and are not a regular, then even if you are the first one to the counter waiting for the man to get off the phone with a personal call for almost 10 minutes. U still get ignored. And those that are regulars are helped first. I finally gave up and walked out. You would think that they would try to stop me and ask me what i needed help with but nope. Even though I was at the counter for almost 20 minutes. They still never cared that I walked out and they lost my business forever. On the plus side though. 1 block north of pep boys is steves auto. I have only been here 10 minutes and even though they are busy they managed to squeeze me in knowing that my car needed to get looked at. And are already taking it for a test drive. Go 1 block north people!! Get real cusromer service!!!
