Honesty is my top priority when dealing with a mechanic. I like that I can trust what manager Todd tells me. I had my 2008 Ford Rangers transmission rebuilt 2 years ago by another shop, so I was surprised when my oil-change mechanic (Firestone) told me he thought it was slipping. Since my rebuild came with a 5-year warranty, I took it to that other transmission mechanic to get it looked at. They were out of business, meaning my warranty was no good! Another transmission shop had set up shop in the same location, and the salesman took it for a 30 second ride before telling me it was definitely slipping. He pitched $475 to diagnose and a likely final bill of $2000+. That confused me because it didnt seem like it was slipping to me. Since Firestone is ultra-cautious about transmissions and the salesman didnt spend much time on it, I continued to be skeptical. I was pleased to get a reference that Todd was trustworthy. Todd gave me a thorough inspection. He reported that (1) he saw no problems while looking at the oil, (2) he felt no problems when driving it, and (3) his machine even reported no problems. Todds thorough analysis and honesty confirmed my own conviction even though it meant little money for him. Todd has my unequivocal recommendation. And since I want a warranty that stays good next time, Ill take it Aamco next time. Theyre not going anywhere.

I was experiencing a clunking noise in my car. I previously had the car to another shop and spent over $1200 to have the problem resolved. After that expense, the problem still persisted. The shop thought that it might be the transfer case, which would be another several thousand dollars in repair. I wanted to get a second opinion, so I call AAMCO and talked to Rob. Rob would not quote an estimate for replacing the transfer case, but did offer to inspect and evaluate the problem free of charge. I made an appointment for the next morning and met with Rob. After they test drove my vehicle and completed the inspection, they told me they found to source of the noise. The noise was due to a loose bolt, probably from when the timing belt was changed. I was in disbelief that the problem was so simple and that they were able to find the source so quickly. I was even all amazed to find out that there was no charge for the repair. I have nothing but my highest recommendation for the service that I received by Rob and the technician that worked on my car. I have some additional repair items that need to be done on my car and intend to bring the car back for the work. Thank you very much for your service!!

I took my truck in for two things, fix pull/drift to the left and replace transmission cooler lines. $2000+ later truck still pulls left, transmission line clip and auto body clips that retain the top radiator cowling are missing. The line clip and body clips may not appear to be that big of a deal to people, but if the cooler lines rub together or against the body a leak could develop that would ruin an Allison transmission, expensive. If the cowling slides back into the fan or the front grill is not held into position, more problems. 90% of my driving in this vehicle is on dirt/rocky roads. GM placed these pieces on the vehicle for a reason. Filed complaint with Aamco, they want me to bring truck back in. Would you go back in so they can charge you more for stuff they screwed up and did not resolve the first time? Not me.

I keep my car in great shape and I regularly clean everything under the hood of my with Windex. Its in excellent shape. I took the vehicle to Aamco for a transmission diagnosis and was greatly disappointed with their lack of respect for your vehicle. Oily fluid is all over under the hood. I found untightened screws. I even found a nut that had fallen beneath the engine which they failed to recover :/ It blows my mind that they could find an engine so clean and leave it so sloppy! When they diagnosed the problem, I found the total part cost to be only $170. Aamco quote = $600, for what would take one hour to fix. Dont get ripped off at this place. If you care about the condition your car will be left in Id go elsewhere. I just cant trust slobs.

Nothing to do with AAMCO the business. Just the Manager there. Bought a car from him. Told me it was a good car. Obviously not from the one star rating. AAMCO service guys obviously are not going to their re certification refresher mechanic courses. They Could not detect a 6 inch crack on my transmission that they put together wrong in the first place. They also knowingly put in the wrong axle seal. So i would give AAMCO service 2 stars for trying to diagnose but they are no where near trained professionals. I would only question the personal integrity of the Manager Todd. Sold me this car knowing that the seal was the wrong one and that it could potentially destroy the transmission. Now i have to fix his mistakes and lies.

Last weekend I noticed a big pool of fluid that started leaking out of my 4Runner. My first thought was that the transmission was shot - a feeling nobody likes! I called the Sandy AAMCO location and Todd answered my questions over the phone. He told me to bring it in for a free inspection. They got it in quickly and called back about the problem. I was very impressed with Todd and his team getting things fixed so quickly and thoroughly. It ended up being a water pump issue, so hopefully I get another 200K miles after this quick fix. Car troubles are never fun to deal with, but these guys knocked it out of the park for me. I highly recommend Todd and the Sandy AAMCO. Thank you!

This place has given us the worst car service we have ever had. We called on a Wednesday and they said they could get our van towed there that night. I went in Thursday morning to give them the key and no one knew why our van wasnt there and why there was no record of it. The original quote they gave us was then upped by $1300 for a rebuilt transmission. They told us it would be done the following Tuesday. We are now nine days past that and our van still isnt fixed. They said it will be at least Tuesday until it is done which puts them two past the original date they told us it would be fixed. I wish we had never brought our van here. If I could give them no stars, I would.

Had our explorer transmission rebuilt by Amoco at the Sandy station they did not stand behind their work we had the transmission only 2 1/ 2years put 60,000 miles on the car . Now I have to have the transmission completely redone they wanted another $2500 for a new transmission it was only 2 1/2 years old I was hoping for Amoco transmission to stand behind the work they did prior to this . Or at the very least try to fix this one and give me a better deal in a price to rebuild this transmission and they wouldnt even do that . What they do not know is I have a fleet of 19 vehicles. amoco has officially lost my business I would not recommend them to anyone
