I took my Jeep here as it was overheating due to a bad radiator / thermostat. Knowing that my radiator was bad, I asked them to only fix my thermostat, as I didnt want to tackle that job myself. When they called me and informed me that my radiator had several holes in it (of which I already knew) I asked out of curiosity how much it would be for them to fix it... $700 !!! RIP OFF CITY! Being winter I was being lazy and didnt want to spend the time to take apart the housing where the thermostat is located. knowing the radiator would be an easier job, I opted to have them fix the thermostat and I fix the radiator. They did fix the thermostat, so for that they do get 1 star... However... Be warned that in my model jeep, the radiator takes about 1 hour to remove and replace (its a very easy 11 bolt removal process), maybe 1 1/2 hours if one of the bolts is not wanting to come off ... Most of that time is waiting for the anti freeze to drain out. They were wanting to charge me for an insane amount of labor, or they were really marking up the price of a radiator, either way its shady and I will not be going back and advising anyone who mentions this place to stay far away. I fixed the jeep myself the following day, in about an hour, all for the price of a new radiator and some new antifreeze a $600 savings.

Cody, Manager, MM, SLC contacted me right after he saw my review. Cody and his team went above and beyond to help me out with my situation and replaced my engine at an unbeatable price. Cody used his personal connections to get me 50 K miles motor (original one had 108 K miles on it) at $1,200 and I only paid $150 for labor. Moreover, they returned $50 that I paid for the pre purchase inspection! Along with the changed motor, all the essential fluids were changed without any additional cost. MM also took care of numerous minor repairs without charging me extra. I would go back to MM just because of their personalized care and exemplary customer service. "I got a pre-inspection done before deciding to buy an used car. I was surprised that you guys missed to check a Knocking Noise at 2,500 RPM. Also, your inspection indicated that valve 1 misfires but it turns out all the 4 valve misfires randomly. Based on your suggestions I was under the impression that some minor fix will enable me to use the car. I ended up buying the car and now I got to know that the Engine Bearing is damaged. A proper check-up would have revealed the valve misfiring, damaged engine bearing etc. I just wasted $3500 on a car thats worth nothing"

Im in town from Athens, Ga. So a little ways away, about 2k miles. Of course my power steering decides to start leaking. I went to the local Toyota dealership, hoping that since Im driving a Toyota theyd look out for me. They said "yeah its leaking but its not that bad" and gave me some power steering fluid and sent me on my way to drive my mother and sister back across country. Within 3 miles the line started pouring out and no fluid was even making it to the pump. Luckily, I found Master Muffler! I called ahead and they said bring it on. Not only did they access the issue and figure out the problem right away it was for free! Then they were able to fix it and have me back on the road in a relatively short amount of time and for a very reasonable price. I will recommend anyone in the area to come to these guys first for any issues as well as regular maintenance to keep your vehicle rocking and rolling! I would drive back from Ga for an oil change with service like that!! Thanks to Asher, Katie and all the gang at Master Muffler!!

Oh my goodness! I wish these guys were closer. I took my husbands Honda Civic in for a new muffler today, and was helped by Don and then by Jim Lems (the store manager). They both treated me like I was their best friend or daughter or something. They made sure I understood everything clearly. They gave me a GREAT price. They even made sure that my tire pressure was good and that all my fluids were topped off before I drove away. I mean, CMON! Their shop was clean. Their employees were all very kind and professional. I could go on and on. Honestly, I havent been this impressed by a car service/repair place in a while. (Thus, Im taking the time to write this review when I generally dont.) What a team! To all who read this: you will be glad you took your business here. To Don, Jim, and the whole crew, my sincere thanks. My husband is thrilled. He said his car drives (and sounds) like a new car. Gratefully, Claire Toone

I wondered why their ratings are so high. Reading that they pay $10 for good same-day reviews makes sense. I used to love this business. Then, the management changed a year or so ago, and some of the best mechanics left, and they arent the same business, at all. I find their prices have become over inflated, while their service has become somewhat shoddy. I paid around $500 for a new heater in January 2016 that no longer worked in November 2016. I was told it would cost an additional $1600 to get it working again--this on a 1989 truck that isnt worth $1600, much less $2100 in one year, just to get heat. I have gone in several times this year with different cars, and they never have time to work on my cars. They say they will call when they have free time, but dont. I wouldnt waste my time going there. And I would be hesitant to do business with a company that (against Google Rules) PAYS for good reviews.

Anytime you get a phone call from an auto service shop with advice that you dont need a service performed tells you that you are dealing with a reputable and honest business. I flew into SLC to visit a daughter and while driving her car felt like she needed shocks/struts as well as new brakes. Shortly after dropping off the car at Master Muffler and Brake, I received a phone call that the brakes did not require immediate replacement but would in a few thousand miles. I opted to have them replaced. I was then told that the shocks/struts were fine and no service was needed. Finally, the technician had taken the time to notice a tire was low on air pressure and that he had located a nail in the tire. I was advised to have the tire repaired immediately at a tire shop. Im very happy with the service I received at Master Muffler and Brake Complete Auto Care and would recommend them to anyone.

I see many good reviews so youll probably do OK here ... but maybe this is because THEY PAY $10 FOR GOOD REVIEWS, THE SAME DAY!!!! This is against Google rules I am pretty sure, so theres a lot of $10 paid reviews here. You are now forewarned ... and I wasnt happy. I left my car with muffler issue, was told they couldnt look at it while I wait because several people ahead of me. Told them I could only afford $50. I took local TRAX back to University, just as I arrived back at work I get a call with an estimate much higher than what I said I could pay. Oh well, but if I had know they would look at it so quickly I would have waited, because I just had to turn around, ride TRAX back there and pick up car. I went to Capitol Muffler nearby, very nice guy got me in right away, found me a used muffler, got me fixed up with new pipes and used muffler for $140 when Master Muffler wanted $260!
