UPDATE: Even though Shamrock seemed unconcerned about responding to us in a timely manner while we were engaging their service, upon the publication of this review, they seemed to be instantly fired up to speak to us. My fiancee received 14 calls in the span of a couple hours while he was in meetings this afternoon at work. Shamrock offered to reverse the charges, which we certainly appreciate. However, we didnt want or expect a full refund, we simply wanted to discuss the issues at hand. We are still disappointed in the overall service and experience, although they ultimately, under the duress of public shame, were willing to do what they could to make things right. The first visit (it took a total of 3 and its still leaking) lasted less than 10 minutes and resulted in the technician breaking a piece on the water softener. The tech then asked my fiancee to start calling around to see if he could find the part. We were told we would be contacted the next day about the status of the part. That call never came. We ended up calling them repeatedly over the next two days to follow up. We were told conflicting information each time — ultimately being told that we would be contacted the next Monday to set up a new time to come fix the softener. No call came so I called again on Monday afternoon. We were told that they would come by around 5 with the parts to fix it. The tech arrived around 6, and ultimately ended up breaking both the clips that he brought to fix it. He had some other ideas about what might be wrong and said he would call in the morning to let me know the verdict. The tech did say that he would not charge us for that time, which was very appreciated — especially since two visits so far had ended up with broken parts and nothing fixed. Tuesday came, and as usual, there was no follow up from Shamrock, as promised. Finally, on Wednesday at 2:30 I received a text saying that they believed the new part would fix the problem and asked if they could come by the next day at 8am or 4pm. We opted for 8am. On Thursday (yesterday) the tech arrived around 8:40am. He installed the parts and said that everything should be fixed. He was out of there by 9:15. On the bill we were charged for two half hour visits (probably the first one and this one) as well as an hour to pick up the parts. Somehow there was one additional hour listed as well. When my fiancee got home from work he reviewed the softener and the bill. The softener was still leaking from the original place as well as some new places. The fact that we didnt have a non-leaking water softener and were charged for three hours of work, when in essence the only actual work was conducted in half an hour and two visits resulted in them breaking things and asking us to hunt down parts, we felt the charges were not accurate and did not want to pay the full price OR have them come back to once again try to fix the leaking softener. My fiancee called them about the continued and new leaks and the bill and he was told that the gentleman he spoke to, Brian (who has been our main contact) would have to check with the tech before he could address any billing dispute, etc. He said he would call us back this morning. This started on 4/6 and as of 4/15 we have a water softener with additional leaks and a follow-up on our billing question that was never returned. When we called again today to follow up because, once again, the promised call never came, we were told that Brian was on vacation. When asked to speak to a manager, we were denied. When asked to speak to the owner, we were denied. Finally, we were transferred to the voice mail of the person who never called us back and is on vacation. We have tried to be very patient, courteous and understanding, but Shamrock has completely behaved in an unprofessional manner that does not exhibit any concern for the customer or doing the right thing. Being unable to speak to a manager or owner, this review is the only recourse we feel we have. Would not recommend under any circumstances. So disappointing.

We did not have a good experience with Shamrock Plumbing. We chose them as there were so many good reviews and they were cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. Bad choice for us. We had plumbing roughed in the basement for a bathroom and Shamrock surprised us by not finishing the job and failed to communicate we needed walls roughed in before they could finish. Instead they snuck out the back door and didnt tell us they were leaving. We had a hard time getting in contact with the office to figure out what was happening with our bid. When they eventually came back, they did finish the bid for the bathroom. In that time, we noticed a crack formed on the bathtub in the basement after their install. The bathroom was not complete and was never used. We were told they were not responsible. They also bid to move a gas line in our kitchen and did not tell us it didnt include the install. We installed it ourselves. There is a hissing sound every time we turn the stove or oven on and it takes a long time for the oven to heat up. When we brought it to their attention (since it is a safety hazard), we were told there were no problems and they refused to look at it. Now we smell gas every time we turn the stove or oven on. Still a hazard. We now have to find another plumber to come and fix the things Shamrock broke or refused to fix. I would not recommend them and regret accepting their bid.

Updated Review: My experience with the company was not great. I was having some work completed and during the process they flooded the bathroom. I called to speak with a manager and never received a call back regarding the flooding. I had to call a few days later when I realized the plumbing was sticking out about three inches too far to fit behind the sheet rock. I called and scheduled to have someone come fix it. I explained I would not pay for someone to fix the problem. I was told I would have to speak to a "manager" and one would call me. The day before the appointment, I called to speak to a manager. I was told one was not available. I asked to schedule a time. A manager was on the phone two minutes later. I was told the flooding was my fault and that I would pay for the fix if that was determined my fault as well. The second plumber came and fixed the issues at no extra charge. In the end I got the plumbing work completed but I had to leave work twice, clean up a flooded bathroom, and demand a manager speak with me. Not using them again.

Shamrock Plumbing provides something rare in todays world, supurb customer service. We had a situation with a toilet that was installed by contractors when we first moved in, constant clogging and just an inferior product. We had Shamrock come out earlier in the year to put in an R.O. water system and were so pleased with the master plumber serviced to the call and his knowledge...we called Shamrock for this situation. They were here the next day after the call, we purchased a new Toto toilet from them, they did everything right. The manufacturer of the toilet had a color variation, and when brought to their attention, they not only came out, but came out to the house prepared with a new toilet and tank, ready to re-install. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHAMROCK PLUMBING AND WILL ALWAYS USE SHAMROCK, YOU COULDNT ASK FOR BETTER SERVICE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE TECHNICIANS/MASTER PLUMBERS, THEY MAKE THINGS RIGHT! Why would you choose any other plumbing company. They mean so much to us, thank you Shamrock! Job Well Done again.! Ray & Kathy
