Went to the Firestone on Washington near 17th street in Ogden ONLY because they were open on Saturday and were able to squeeze me in to do safety and emissions testing. They kept my vehicle all day, which was fine, passed emission, failed safety for a laundry list of things. Some were legit and some were ridiculous. I take my truck to a shop Firestone recommended., they were awesome, ended up paying $1,100 in repairs, new center link, new brake pads on front, 2 new leaf springs, fixed parking brake, fixed torn CV boot, and a few other odds and ends. All but one item was repaired. I was told that my drive shaft is contacting the cross member of the frame and it has rubbed so much that I need to replace the driveshaft. The mechanic who did all of the repairs and who would probably have gladly taken my money for a new drive shaft told me he didnt see a problem. But he said just to be sure, take it to six states (another mechanic who specializes more in the driveshaft area) to get another opinion. I went to six states, the awesome mechanic there crawled under my truck and told me there was no issue. He said he has no idea how but at one point the two may have somehow contacted to create a small mark but they are not touching now and there has been zero damage to the drive shaft itself, he also told me if I needed a written statement from him he would be more than happy to write it. So after several attempts to bring my truck back to Firestone to get my reinspect done before my 15 days (without having to pay for the safety test again) were up, I was finally able to get an appt this morning at 7 AM (opening hour). I get there, no one but me and 3 mechanics are there. The guy acts super annoyed that Im even there...I got there at 7 on the dot. Another woman comes in behind me saying she needs new wheels put on her vehicle (she was basically just swapping them out). Well guy at the counter is the only one who is certified to do the safety test. So rather than going out, pulling my truck in the shop and starting the reinspect, he goes out and helps the nice lady unload the tires from her truck....there are 2 other perfectly capable mechanics there that could have helped with that. So I sit patiently, 15 minutes go by and my truck is still sitting in the parking lot. Its also worth noting that I had an appt and I was STILL asked if Id be leaving my vehicle there all day. NO ONE IS HERE, WHY DO YOU NEED ME TO LEAVE MY TRUCK WITH YOU? I provided him with my REJECTED safety inspection report and the invoice showing all of the repairs that were made. After all was said and done he still had an issue with the drive shaft. He told me he isnt really sure what needs to be done because its kind of a grey area in the safety manual. So I paid $1,100 in repairs and Im being failed for something he isnt sure is even an issue. He told me he called UHP and that someone would be by shortly to give me the pass or fail. I tried my best to be patient, waited about 25 minutes but I had to go to work so I asked him to print out the form stating that I have passed everything but the drive shaft problem and that Id come back another day. I asked him if Id have to pay for another safety inspection since my 15 days are nearly up and he said yes. I asked how can I get this resolved, do I need to come back and sit here while we wait all day for a UHP worker to show up? He said I could go to their office and have them write a statement on their letterhead...and I would still be required to pay another inspection fee because I am out of my 15 day window...even though I should be paying UHP since they are the ones actually inspecting my vehicle at this point. Why couldnt he just refer me to another safety inspection certified mechanic at Firestone or elsewhere and have them give me the okay? I called and complained with corporate, who acted very sympathetic but her solution was to call the dude who isnt doing his job and still tell me that UHP has to look at it...but they wont charge me the fee, thanks. Ridiculous. Never again.

Should of looked at reviews of this Firestone before making an appointment for an alignment. I purchased Lifetime Alignments a couple years ago when I was in Vegas and always had a good experience at the particular one I would go to. My suspension has camber bolts in the front and camber arms in the rear, all Alignment Measurements can be adjusted with my configuration. I personally would always have -2 camber in the front and -1 in the rear with 0 toe and caster all around and thats what I would get. So lets start. I begin by asking Could I get an alignment preference for camber? and receive the response No. We put everything to Manufacturers Specs. Hmm okay well thats better than...nothing right? Hand off my keys and my car finds its way to the alignment rack at 4pm. 30min goes by and my car is ready. I could not believe my ears, a to Manufacturer Specs Alignment done in 30 minutes?!?! I must see the data sheet.(wish I could attach a picture). Camber Before: LF -1.3 RF -2.1 Camber After: LF -1.3 RF -2.1 LR -.9 RR -1.3 LR -.9 RR -1.4 Total Toe Front Before -.37 After .03 Total Toe Rear Before .14 After .17 Caster Left 1.8 Right 2.2 (stayed same after) So toe got straightened away, which does ultimately damage tires. But none of my camber or caster was fixed...or actually touched for that matter. So my car doesnt drive straight at all. Lets take a look at Manufacture Specs straight out of Owners Manual: Toe Front 0 Rear .08 Camber Front 0 Rear -.45 Caster Front 1.30 So only thing CLOSE to Manufacture Specs is the Toe Front. Thats it, thats all I can admit. Everything else is garbage. They tell people a blanket statement and then dont work to that standard. I simply took the papers, overviewed the numbers and left. I was not going to have anymore of my time wasted in this building and dont recommend anyone else does either. Service Advisor 01 John Tech 09 RJ

FROM AN ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. I went in for an emissions and safety inspection on a newly purchased vehicle. They do not have a brake testing machine, and after asking why they didnt measure the brakes, they stated they do not have to. Suspicious, I checked the brakes myself and found that the right rear brakes ( front left and rear right brakes required by law to be checked for utah state inspection) were leaking brake fluid a lot. I returned to the store and asked why i wasnt informed, and that now i know why my back tire locks up when using the brakes, clearly a safety issue, and they told me there was nothing they could do. I returned three times , talking to Eric Elliot the store manager, and Lute Morfin the service manager all three times asking why they broke the law by not measuring my brakes, and why they didnt inform me of the massive leak. Eric offered me to view the tapes showing them working on my car, and when i said id like to do that, all of a sudden he says he cant, and that i would have to go higher up in management to do that. Their regional manager gave me the same runaround, so after reporting them to the Utah Safety Inspection Office, i got refunded my money. These people blatantly lie to cover themselves. Do NOT TRUST ERIC, LUTE, or ANYONE at this location.
