Called My Buddy after a referral of a referral was too booked to come estimate the replacement of our stop and waste valve in our front yard. The plumber showed up on time and was professional in all aspects. The bid was for $900 and when he could see how visibly shocked I was he assured me that the replacement was an all day, 2 guy, manual labor-type job. He really stressed that. We called to get other bids and they came back a bit cheaper but we decided to go with My Buddy since he was the only one who had come out to actually look at the situation. Plus there were good reviews! Day of the job the plumber was on time and again super professional and nice. Within 2.5 hours, the two guys dug the hole, made a home depot trip to buy the valve, replaced the valve and had refilled the hole. Job complete. When they came to the door to collect their payment I was a little surprised. I inquired if they were planning to adjust their bid based on how long it actually took them to replace the valve since there was such a discrepancy between how long he estimated the job would take and how long it actually took (2.5 hrs vs 8 hrs). The plumber said no, that that isnt the way it works. He offered some lame information about how there is overhead expenses like trucks and shirts and sometimes bids arent exact. He was willing to give me 10% off. I was pissed! I took the discount and paid the guy. Later that day I received a call from their office offering me an additional 5% discount totaling a whooping 15% discount off my $900 bill. While I appreciate the companys willingness to offer discounts when its obvious the customer is not satisfied I think in this situation a little common sense would have gone a lot further. On top of the discount an additional solution would have been to offer a credit for future plumbing needs that way youve righted a glaring discrepancy, retained a customer, and it doesnt seem like youre gouging your customers.

Terrible and overpriced. Called for AC unit. Technician tried telling me my capacitor was bad (wrong - the unit turned on once he plugged it back in). Let alone he quoted me $185 for the capacitor - $20 online. He did help tighten the fan which we mistakenly didnt tighten correctly which he then charged $29 for - 5 min of work! Add on the visit charge it was $88 for nothing plus trying to sell something that wasnt needed. Avoid. -- Edit--- The owner called me back and wanted to figure out if something could correct my bad experience. I appreciated the effort but in some ways the call made this experience worse. He precisely pointed out the issue with the $30 charge - I was never informed by the technician of the cost before he did the work. He then tried to argue if I called around I would find out that their pricing is fair as competitor charge $400/hr and that their rate of $150 an hour cant be beat. It can as I had already had several quotes and plenty were sitting at $100/hr. He tried to explain that the overpriced capacitor would be charged even more at other competitors - I cant refute this but just cause other people do something bad doesnt make your less-bad good. Again, I appreciate his effort and his empathy. I unfortunately am rating my experience I had with their service which stands. Also Id rather not have to sit through 30 min on a phone call with the owner trying to "right a wrong" which seemed to imply I should change my rating if they waived the charge (never said this but him overselling his company value and pointing towards his high average online reviews spoke to this). If you want to right the wrong then simply do so. The owner could have easily just waived the erroneous $30 labor fee, not taken my 30 min, and I would have considered this much better.

I recently purchased a home that the previous owners failed to tell me had a few plumbing problems. #1 no hot water to my master shower. #2 break in a hose bib in my front yard. After moving into my house i had very weak water pressure. At first I thought it was just an older home and something I would need to get use to. After a long day at work I discovered my front lawn under water. I called my home warranty company and turned off all water to my home. They sent a plumber over who seemed very nice. He didnt turn on the water to see where the water was coming from, but I showed him and he said it could be a massive fix. He told me he would come back in 2 weeks to fix said massive problem. After some discussion I decided I would call around and get another plumber over to see if they could help me in a more timely matter. Lucky for me I seen reviews for my buddy the plumber and am so happy to say that they was able to schedule me in only 3 days. Lucky for me my major problem outside turned out to be a hose bib. All I had to do was turn off the water line to the sprinklers and turn my water back on. Wow I didnt even have to go days without water. Anyway when Brandon showed up he called a sprinkler guy who came out and fixed the hose bib for me. It only took him a few minutes. He also was able to show mr how the previous owner tried to fix it, but didnt use glue. He only primed it. Brandon also came in and fixed my shower. He took it all apart and was able to adjust the valves in the wall. And all this without costing me a fortune. He did it with a smile on his face and was very knowledgeable. I will use them again and again for any problems I have in the future! If you are looking for a plumber dont look any further. Seriously give them a call

I needed to turn off my main water valve inside my home and found the old gate style valve would not shut off the water, it just spun around. Since it was not an emergency, I scheduled several companies to provide me with an estimate for the repair. I was absolutely shocked to find the variations in price. Some companies wanted to charge for an estimate, even though I was willing to send them pictures and describe in detail what I needed - a new 3/4" valve handle replacement. Since my home is an older home, I thought it would also be a good time to add a pressure regulator valve, although it is not a requirement, unless I plan to sell my home in the near future. (Yes, I have done my homework.) I actually had one company come give me a bid to replace my not leaking but not working valve handle and tell me that I needed to replace my entire main line all the way to the curb - they could tell that by looking at the handle... hmmm Lets just say I didnt provide them with any "Action" and I immediately requested they leave my home. So, by the time My Buddy Curtis arrived, I was extremely frustrated with plumbers all together. Curtis was very professional, provided me with an affordable fair price and got the job done. I am very pleased with the outcome and zero "BS". I will use their services again and I proudly display their magnet in my home. Thank you My Buddy the Plumber and Curtis for an outstanding job. You have my business!!! Lisa
