Just had the most awesome experience at this salon. My stylist disappeared off the grid a month or two ago and having gone to her for the last 10 or so years of my life I was incredibly panicked because my thick Asian hair has a hard time finding a great stylist in little old Utah. I travel a lot for work and have probably had my hair cut in 5 different cities in the past year so needless to say, I have been desperately hoping to find a new salon at home. After two terrible experiences at separate locations on two different occasions at the very overrated Lunatic Fringe I finally stumbled on Nick James. I called last minute at 2 PM to make an appointment. They were kind enough to inform me it was a pretty full day with only two stylists but they could accomodate me at 3:15. I showed up and they let me know that unfortunately the previous appointment was running very behind so they asked if it would be okay if a younger stylist cut my hair. Not only did Katie do a great job but Nick the owner and Daniel who I was originally scheduled with both stopped by on multiple occasions to check in with us and make sure the appointment was going well and then they were so sweet enough to do the cut for free even though it was totally not their fault that the appointment was behind. I am so excited to finally find a great salon that actually takes the time to get familiar with each individuals hair and has a salon full of incredibly experience people!

Visiting is was a really great experience. Id highly recommend this salon. Every time I visit I end up looking, and even more importantly feeling, like a million bucks. Not to mention all the lovely compliments I get over the next days. And it’s just plain fun to hand out with Nick and Mauricio. Rather than going straight to the cutting, Nick always took some time to talk to me about what I was looking for in a new haircut. It felt like he really cared about making sure I got the cut I wanted, and that would be best for my face shape - not about just getting me done and out the door for the next customer. My hair looked AMAZING once hed finished the cut. On the second visit he asked how the cut and products were working, to see if there needed to be any changes. The cut had grown out beautifully, which I think is one sign of a great cut. He always tells me what each product he uses is, and why he’s using it. Nick has extraordinary talent. He then took the time to show me a few styling tricks for my new style, so I could make the most of it. And taught me even more styling tricks the next visit. The Oribe products are top quality, and I love them. I’ve noticed a difference in my hair since I started using them. It’s softer, smoother, and not so dry. They work so well! The salon itself is light and spacious, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Very beautifully done.

Jouissance is DELICIOUS! I have had many delectable experiences at the salon. Nick James gift for styling hair is amazing. Nick listens to my hair style desires and delivers above and beyond results. Early this summer, Nick recommended highlights for my hair. I was a bit skeptical that highlights werent for me, but I decided to try his recommendation and my hair turned out fabulous. My hair looked like honey and glistened in the sunlight. The color and tone enhanced my eyes and made my skin look sugar kissed. Nick also gives great tips on everyday style. He coached me on how to do the perfect blow dry at home which helps me show off the style and color of my hair. Nothing is worse for me than leaving a salon with a gorgeous look that I cannot recreate easily everyday. Nicks hair cuts blow me away. He is a master of minimal scissor work to enhance my look. In addition to Nicks great ability, the salon itself is a wonderful environment. The interior is modern, clean and stylish. It reminds me of being on a cruise ship with unforgettable service. There is free parking conveniently located behind the salon to the north off of 200 east. Another great recent addition to the salon experience is stylist Sebastian. He is also an excellent stylist and make-up artist that listens and exceeds client requests. I hope you get the chance take a bite of the delicious Jouissance soon.

Where to begin! Let me first just say that Nick James is a hair genius. Each and every time he trims/cuts my hair, the style is consistent, beautiful, and he knows EXACTLY what to do. I will not go to anyone else because of those reasons and I know that I can trust him no matter what. He is honest, dedicated and a true professional. Ive been to other "top stylists" in the Salt Lake area, but he is by far the best. I also adore their products - Oribe & Kerastase. I have long, dry hair and I have the hardest time finding products that work with my scalp and ends. Nick & Mauricio are both great at recommending the perfect mix, and if you are not happy, they will do everything they can to make sure you are. If you are looking for a value or bargain cut, this is not the place for you. If you want a long term professional who will always take care of you and give you amazing style, youve found it. My husband also goes to Nick and even though it my cost more than the regular Supercuts type places, he has been extremely impressed and can tell a difference.

I am not a review writing person, but to find a good stylist for me is an equivalent of finding a holy grail! I have a very fine hair (and not much of it, at that), so in order to work it just right it really takes finesse and great skill. For the longest time I have tried to find someone (on two continents, no less) who would make me NOT put my hair in the bun as soon as I walk out of the salon (where I usually spent good part of my day and decent chunk of change (averaging $180) for a ten minute haircut/blowout (yes, it really takes that long in my case) and a set of highlights). Nick was amazing! Everyting from just getting it right away, nailing exactly what I wanted, doing it in such incredibly skillful way and with such grace and kindness (and at price that finally reflects the amount of time my hair actually takes to do). Wow, and you do not hear me say that often! Peeps, there is science behind hair-and this man just gets it! This is where praise the Lord emoji should be....

Ive had long hair for 5 years, and it was definitely time for a change. I visited Nick at Jouissance and he was absolutely masterful at transforming my look. He gave me a short, smart cut that perfectly matches my personality and my face shape. Everyone told me that after having long hair for so long, Id have days where Id regret it, but that has not been the case. I trusted Nick to take care of me and he delivered. I cannot tell you how many compliments Ive received on the new style. Aside from being in love with my new cut, the salon experience itself was first rate. Nick has a wonderful way of putting you at ease. The salon is spotless and beautiful, with subtle, pleasant aromas wafting through the air. Ive sent friends to Jouissance and theyve all fallen in love with the experience, too.
