I emailed Gilman Sunday night for request for service ( very sophisticated and easy process )and they had a technician at my home Monday...this was August so you know all AC companies are busy.Tiffany their office coordinator called me Monday morning to schedule a time...she is so professional, courteous all combined with a beautiful voice that incorporates a smile. Lance the technician arrived on time ( Tiffany had called me 15 minutes before his arrival). I was immediately impressed with Lance as he put boot covers on before entering the house. Lance was very professional,courteous and patiently answered my questions.He explained what he was doing and showed me his work.He at my request installed two devices and amazingly had the parts with him.There were several poorly previously installed issues that needed correcting...it was frustrating to know that the previous contractor had not done his work according to code. I selected Gilman per a recommendation, checking their website which tell you they have been in business over 100 years,their Better Business Bureau rating of A+ and their Google reviews. I highly recommend Gilman for all the above: they are one of the best service providers (all industries) I have used in my 33 years in Richmond!

We have used Gilman first heating and a/couple repairs over the years and always received excellent service. On Friday, my husband calls the plumbing division for emergency toilet repair. The technician came out and stated that we would have to replace the floor around the toilet, put linoleum down before he could install the toilet. His name is Bryant. He told my husband to call him as soon as we have the floor done and he would come back out to do the install. Not to worry, he was on call over the weekend. Well we called Saturday evening and told him that we would have everything completed by noon Sunday for him. Well Sunday came and no response from Bryant. We completed the floor. Noon came and no Bryant. 12:30 came so my husband called Bryants cell and left a message. Bryant calls back at 1:30 and states we will have schedule for Monday. Thats all the explanation he gave. This company is suppose to have 24 hour service. But evidently Bryant doesnt think so and he sure doesnt live up to his commitmentson. Will never use them again.

I was directed to Gilman Heating & Cooling for a thermostat install due to a home security upgrade. I was able to get a reasonable appointment and was contacted when the technician was en-route. Upon arrival he was prompt, clean, courteous and knowledgeable in his profession. Luckily, John recognized the thermostat given by the home security company was not functional in a manner that would keep my family and I comfortable in the event of a winter system failure (no emergency heat setting, temp needed to drop 6 degrees below setting before aux heat activates). John even took the time to call the support team of the thermostat to ensure settings and make changes if possible. What really won my pleasure was that John gave me good sound recommendations and did not leave me with a sub-par piece of equipment. He re installed my very functional Honeywell and made sure my family would be warm before leaving. Gilman definitely is my new choice for HVAC sales and services.

Excellent customer-centered service: Phone answered by employee with friendly voice who stated she would contact technician to see if I could be serviced today & would call me back to let me know. Returned call within 45-60 min. with estimated service time. Technician, Leo, arrived within the estimated window of service time. He was friendly, professional, took picture of underground water line leak and gave estimate prior to repair, explained source of leak, repaired underground water leak, re-covered the underground line, flushed the line, left impaired parts with me and advised me what I further needed to do to protect the repaired line from the impending frigid temperature and snow that was falling when he completed the repair. And, he thanked me for choosing Gilman Heating & Cooling.

We hired Gilman to replace all of our old plumbing. Mike showed up on time with his crew. He was very informative on the job. He gave us plenty of notice when the water had to be turned off, and made sure we had it back quickly. The project took 2.5 days and he was on site past 6pm making sure things were working properly. Mike and his whole crew worked great together. They also were super nice to our canine family members. We now have our updated plumbing, great water pressure and confidence that we are good for another 25 years! We will call them for future projects!

From the moment I started speaking with Gaye, I knew I found the right place. I called on a Monday morning and John was at my house by 9:30! She was extremely friendly on the phone with getting me all set up. Once John arrived, he couldnt have been nicer! I, Harry Homeowner, apparently blew a fuse during my NEST install and John quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and was in and out!. I also appreciated how up to date the company is handling all the "paperwork" from an iPad and via email. Gilman will def be my only call the next time I have an issue! Thanks!

Came home to find my unit blowing hot air. I had rented for years and the landlord always used Gilman so I gave them a call at 5:55pm. The receptionist was super nice and friendly and got my account set up in minutes. Technician Robby, who I had worked with at my old place was here within the hour. He immediately diagnosed the problem and changed the part within minutes. I literally had my AC blowing cold again 60 minutes from the time I placed my call. I cant imagine a service that can do it better and more efficiently than Gilman. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We hired Gilman plumbing to replace a piece of our copper cold water pipes to prevent the continuation of a stray electrical current that was flowing on the pipes (yikes). The plumbers from Gilman were fast, professional, and we felt that their pricing was very fair. They had to do a bit of digging in our front yard and we were thankful that they saved the grass and did their digging in a manner that left no evidence of any disturbance to our lawn. I would highly recommend this company.

These guys are the best! Arrived a little earlier than expected (when does that ever happen?!), replaced our busted water heater in a little over an hour, the old water heater spewed muddy water all over them and the utility room and before I even knew it had happened, they were cleaning up the entire mess. So nice, so professional - highly recommend them and would definitely call on them again for future work. Thank you for restoring our hot water so quickly and painlessly!

I have no problem with the service, per se, but the price they charge for a service call is ridiculous. Either that, or I am naive. A technician came to service my HVAC unit (he had made repairs on it before), and this time he spent no more than 15 minutes, telling me my drain line was stopped up. $157.00 seems excessive for 15 minutes on site. I know, I know drive time has to be accounted for, but I am in the same town they are. I will never call them again.

This was a very good experience. This was a maintenance visit for the Heat Pump and Dylan (tech) was prompt and April (cust. service) called to let me know he was on the way. A very nice touch. He showed up and explained how long it should take and what to expect. The whole thing took less time than expected and he found everything in order. Everything should be this easy. Good job Gilman.
