Nutshell: -NEXT TIME I WILL CALL A LOCAL PLUMBER -Almost $1000 spent -Clogged lines -Three visits in 30 days -3rd visit they jetted my lines -They ran a camera and informed me there was a tub stopper in my main line (no video provided) -Told me I needed an access panel for downstairs unit -- when another plumber simply snaked the line (for half the cost of what RotoRooter was charging -They wanted another appx $1000 to come out and retrieve the stopper that they told me was in the line When I asked Amanda for a copy of the video -- she told me that since I did not request one at time of inspection-- one was not taken. She said they would need to go back out to inspect (for an additional charge I presume). My issue downstairs was corrected by another plumber for a fraction of the cost offered by Roto Rooter-- within 30 minutes. Roto Rooter did correct my upstairs issue with the jetting. But informed me on the phone that it was a temporary fix. Basically, for the money they charged me-- and were going to charge me-- I could have pretty much have the entire unit replumbed.

What an awful experience! We called on Saturday because our drain from the washing machine had backed up and flooded the floor. Scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. When I scheduled I asked what the price for an assessment was and was told that there was a trip fee and was told the amount. It was totally reasonable and so I said ok lets schedule. They showed up and proceeded to run water down the drain and then tried to charge a fee more than a hundred dollars more than the trip fee. Was told this was an assessment fee, but the first we had heard of it was after the "assessment" was finished. I called to ask about this and was told that the technicians always give an assignment fee before they do anything and that they have the customer sign off on it before anything is done. Luckily we had refused to sign the paperwork he presented to us as he was leaving (they couldnt find any problem) so we were only responsible for the trip fee. I wonder how many people they do this to who just pay them! Will never call them again!

On 12-18-15 I arrived home from work to find my neighbor attempting to unclog risen water in our shower stall. In addition to that issue our toilets were no longer flushing. After several attempts made by our neighbor, we called Roto-Rooter. We called and spoke with a very professional customer service representative who had arranged for a service technician to come to our house only minutes from speaking with her. Less than an hour from the initial call the service technician was at our door ready to diagnose the problem. Turns our a tree root had damaged a sewer pipe under our house and somehow was causing the clog. The line was snaked and the clogged clear. Minor repairs need to be made to the pipe, which they are able to perform.The service itself didnt take long and the service technician was very professional at tall times. As I was expecting a huge bill, I was rather surprised by the cost. All in all great customer service and reasonable cost. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter.

I had a complete home plumbing back up, and called Roto-Rooter. Not only was Amanda in the office who answered the phone nice, polite, and sympathetic, but also they sent someone out the same day!!! I mean I called around 1pm, and Jerrod was here by 4pm!!!! OMG!!! So AMAZING!! So not only was Amanda awesome, so was Jerrod. He was polite, nice, and sympathetic himself!!! He even dealt with my home owners warranty company on the phone trying to find a solution for the entire job to be covered. Even though the entire job wasnt covered, I didnt mind because I knew Jerrod knew exactly what he was talking about, and how to properly do the job right. I could not be happier with the service I received from Jerrod, and the Roto-Rooter company. If I ever have a plumbing issue again I am definitely calling Roto-Rooter first and asking for Jerrod himself. Thank you all Roto-Rooter, especially Amanda and Jerrod!!!

Probably one of the worst companies I have ever delt with. I called multiple times and finally got an appointment several days later. They kept pushing for weekend or after hours because it was an extra $100 just to show up. Upon appointment for normal business hours the technician was a "no show." Lost money from not working that day. Thanks Roto-rooter! They apologized and blamed it on another job taking too long but I would say its very unprofessional and poor planning for a business. Im not someone who ever writes reviews either. I have a life but this just ruined my day. Then they had to replace a garbage disposal. Probably a 300 dollar job max with a $100 dollar disposal and $200 in labor but no; it was $484 dollars. You cannot even leave a review on the Richmond website and you will see all 5 star reviews. Steer clear of this company!

Very bad company. Called them out for clogged pipe charged me $300 and never unclogged my pipe. Claimed my septic was backed up and needed to be pumped. So called a septic company to come out and my septic wasnt backed up and told me I was good for another couple years. So the septic guy scheduled me a day for their plumbing guy and very professional at that they unclogged my pipe. I told them what roto rooter did and they laughed cause they did it all wrong. I then called roto rooter and asked for some kind of refund since they didnt fix my problem and I was told that the operations manager would call and talk to me and so far no call. Very unprofessional business they are out to take your money and not help you out. Will never use or recommend this company to anyone. Only reason for a 1 star in had to rate just to write a review.

My Home warranty is contracting my needs through Roto-Rooter or I wouldnt be using them. I scheduled a service call to arrive between 12-2pm. By 3pm when no one showed up, and no one called to tell me they were running late, I gave the office a call. A woman on the phone told me the plumber would be there within the hour. When I pressed her for a more approximate time frame (I was hoping shed say he was en route and would arrive in 15 minutes) she replied in an angry manner "Hell be there within the hour!" Not a single apology for having me waste half a day waiting around for the plumber. I have to go with this company as theyre under my Home Warranty but I would absolutely NOT recommend a company that cant show up on time, fain an apology for messing something up, or show any sort of sincerity or respect toward their customer.

We had a plumbing issue and contacted Roto-Rooter for help. Jerald, the technician, came out to give us an estimate and set up a day and time to make the repairs. We had to be out of town for nearly 3 weeks, but when we returned, we did not have to recall to check up on the appointment time (as we usually have to do with other services). Jerald showed up on the day and at the time he had promised, did the repair quickly and neatly. There was no mess, no clean up after he left. He did a great job, was very personable, and charged us as indicated on the estimate - no surprises! We truly were pleased with the work, the attitude and work ethic of the young man, and we will keep the phone number for Roto-Rooter on hand, as well as the name of the technician, Jerald.
