Ive been a long time customer at Jolie Laide and have been fortunate enough to sit in many chairs there. Not because a stylist called in sick or because I didnt like how another stylist did my hair, but because theyve ALWAYS bent over backwards to accomodate me and my hectic schedule. Im a busy, single mom who works a horrendous schedule! My usual stylist is Jason, and he is a miracle worker with color and style. Im one of those customers who cant tell you what she likes but knows what she doesnt like when she sees it. Admittedly, Im not easy to please. The entire staff knows this. Theres been many times Ive had to miss an appointment because of work or children only to find myself in the bathroom at 11 pm freaking out because a store bought color has turned my gray roots an orangey pink shade... once I even dared to use my kitchen scissors. Theyve always managed to completely correct the color and they did transform my self inflicted butcher job, into something flattering and manageable. ALL ON A MOMENTS NOTICE! It is a comfortable team atmosphere there and they help each other help the client look their best! A lot of salons Id been to dont have that team concept, and it can be very uncomfortable for a client like myself... At my previous salon, I was even stared down and treated rudely when I dared to sit in another stylists chair - the other stylist wouldnt even share the color formula she had used on me with her co-worker - that was the last they saw of me. Kate, Jason, Sarah, Corey, Cookie... al of them are true professionals and have ALWAYS done right by me for the last 5+ years.

I`ve been meaning to write this review for some time now but I just didn`t have the time to do it. I went to Jolie Laide twice and both times I saw Brandi. She was nice and down to earth. She listened to what I had to say. During my second visit, I told her that I would like her to fix and change some thing from the first visit and she listened without making any drama.I thought that the service she provided was good but not the best I`ve received in my life. My disappointmet was with the salons customer service. First of all the place looks dirty and dusty. It needs some serious deep cleaning. Second, I hated the fact that customers have to go to the bathroom to get that protective coat (i`m not sure what`s correct name) you wear during your service. I was shocked b/c I never had to do something like that.Their front desk person is always "missing". She`s never there when you have to make the payment. I took my boyfriend with me and he waited there for 10 min to pay!!!!! Also, hair color they use is really low quality. It literally washes out in one week, even with using color protective shampoo!! This place needs some serious improvement and hard work to become good!! They are also not cheap. Everytime I went there I spent at least $200. As a customer I expect to be treated with respect and to enjoy the place where I`ll be spending $200 a month and I don`t think this is it. I comletely agree with previous reviewer Idordal who said that:" Getting customers in the door is easy but keeping them is what takes work." It`s so true..

When I moved to the area, it took me a long time to find a stylist who cut my hair the way I wanted. I finally found that in Emme. Unfortunately after just 2 cuts with her, she was gone. My follow-up bang trim was moved to Marie, the salon manager. When I sat down Marie didnt ask me a thing about what I wanted done, so I offered that I wear my bangs swooped to one side and I like them lightly layered. She begins trimming. When she is finished my bangs are pin strait all the way across my forehead. I explain that it isnt what I want and explain again - swooped to one side and layered. She is exasperated with me and notes that if "she would have known that, she wouldnt have cut them so short." yeah - thanks. You did know that, you just werent listening. Also follow-up bang cuts are free for up to 6 weeks after a haircut. I had a bang trim appointment at 6 weeks, but had to miss that appointment because my father-in-law (who lives in Iowa) passed away. I was out of town for a week. The staff couldnt have cared less and charged me the $10 fee. Back to my stylist/salon search. Bye Bye Jolie Laide.

I bought a Specialicious discount for this salon and was very happy I did! I met with Jaci Watson, and she did a great job with my hair. Granted, what I wanted was relatively simple (my hair was very heavy, so I wanted some new layers and my hair overall thinned out), but she consulted me about the length I wanted, after cutting checked to see if it was a good length or if I wanted more taken off, and gave me a wonderful scalp and neck massage while washing my hair (my favorite part!)! She was nice and talkative when I wanted to be, but not overly chatty. This is what I usually get down when I get my hair done (very simple), but for some reason, about 75% of the stylists I go to manage to make it look not quite right. If I were not moving soon, I would definitely go to her again! The place looked nice enough, but I think they were in the middle of renovating a bit, because the ceilings looked odd and there was some unfinished painting. As well, this place only accepts cash tips, and for someone like myself who doesnt normally carry any cash, I felt bad when I had nothing to tip with.

I had been looking for a salon that knew how to deal with thick, curly, long hair and found that in Jolie Laide in Bristow, Va. Marie the salon manager is my hair stylist and has been doing a fantastic job with my hair cuts and styles for about a year now. She is very personable and always makes sure that she consults her clients on what type of style they want and will offer suggestions for what she thinks would work best on them. Marie is fantastic and I will be going to her for a long time.

Went here twice, they were able to lift my color without bleaching it! staff seem nice but they dont really know how to volumize the hair.
