BEWARE: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE- THEY ARE AWFUL!!!! If there was a way to give this company negative stars then I would because they dont even deserve 1 star! I brought my car here to be serviced and have the brakes replaced. Whoever replaced the brakes on my car did not install the brake caliper bracket correctly and the never tightened the bolts. So, of course, we had no idea of knowing what a terrible job they did so we paid for the service and drove off. 3 days later my husband was driving the car and suddenly the brakes locked up on him and the car made a sharp right turn which caused him to loose control of the car and ran off the road. Apparently what happened was that the bolts came off which caused the front right assembly to fall off the breaker, essentially causing the right break to fail completely. Thank God that he was on a back road, if this were to have taken place on a highway or busy road this could have easily killed him or someone else on the road. The car was in such terrible condition that he had to have it towed to the nearest auto shop. Once inspected at the auto center the technician noticed that the left bolt was also loose! I cant even imagine how horrible of an accident it could have been if both bolts came off at the same time! To simply say that they did a poor job is a huge understatement. They neglected to do their job properly potentially could have lead to a very serious accident that could have resulted in personal injury and even death. When I called to explain what had happened to the owner he said it was "human error and that it was similar to going to a restaurant and getting food poising"! Seriously, the owner of this auto center just compared my husband having a potentially deadly car accident to food poisoning?!!? Not only did they do a terrible job on my car but they also have ZERO customer service. IF YOU VALUE THE SAFTEY OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD THEN DO NOT BRING YOU CAR HERE!!!

I have live in this town for 21years & everyone I have asked about this place agrees with me; you either know someone there or you get robbed! I got my car towed 10 miles away at the maximum & charged me 276$ and then charged me 70$ for each tier that I already owed, just to get them off and sell else where, I could done it at home if I had known. My girl got towed from my house(less than 2miles away) charged her 50$. then another time after they told her all she need for her inspection to pass was new tiers so after she bot them, they fail her for some rust which they neglected to mention. they only way you get an inspection sticker is if your car is fresh off the lot. the will drive you to work and pick you up but not on time; They are liars and cheats, There motto to me is "We want your money, Not your loyalty, Airport auto. Nothing but frauds"

Ive been bring my car to Airport Auto since 2010 and have never had an issue. Ive had both minor and major work done and have always been treated professionally and friendly. I once took my Suburban in for a significant oil leak. The visit did not correct the error so I took the vehicle back and was given a full credit ($350) on all work done that was later used to correct the pesky leak. I took my Volkswagen in for a Virginia State inspection and the mechanic that conducted the inspection fixed a loose bumper assembly; I was sure I was going have to pay a body shop hundreds to fix, but there was no charge to the fix. The work has always been top rate and the prices reasonable. Great customer service. Great shuttle service.

They always seem to be busy, but thats because they are the best in Charlottesville. As the other reviews testify, this team is experienced, knowledgeable and fair. If you want an unsafe car to pass inspection, dont bring it here, they care more about your safety then they do about making a buck. I made an appointment to take my Honda CRV in for a "knocking noise" on start up. After about an hour of waiting, the technician brought me out and showed me what was wrong. He let me know that he had seen it several times before and the although it sounded bad, there was no damage to the car or engine, so if I wanted them to fix it, it would cost $850, but all it would do was get rid of the noise.

Made an appointment to take my car in for routine maintenance and fix a tail light around 5pm. I was told I could leave my car overnight and theyd get it first thing in the morning.. Went to drop it off at 5:45am next day on my way to work; since they dont open til 7, I figured I use the night drop box. Well lo and behold, someone was already in the office and he ushered me in and took down all my info and assured me theyd have it ready for me before noon. By 7:20am I got a phone call saying my car was ready (mind you they dont open til 7). I picked it up at 7:30 and my bill stayed under $40--first time Ive ever walked away from getting my car fixed with a smile on my face. Thanks Airport Auto!

I have used Airport Auto since moving to Charlottesville over 3 years ago. I initially picked them for location convenience, but theyve proven to be much more than just convenient. More than once they have looked at issues on my car and not charged me anything. They have sent someone over to my home to look at a stuck ignition and not charged me, despite my protest! I use them for my oil changes, my inspections, and any other car repairs. Theyve even fit me in on busy days because they knew I was worried about something my car was doing. They are honest with me, do not condescend to me because I am not a "car person", and give me the friendliest service and a ride to work!

My wife and I had just finished our dinner out and walked to our car. I noticed there was a screw embedded in my front tire. I looked at my watch and said no one will be open at 8:45 PM to help us out. I drove the area looking for a tire store or service station. I noticed that the office light was on at Airport Road Auto Center and there was someone inside. The gentleman inside was working on the paperwork for the next morning. Even though the store was close for hours, he plugged my tire which allowed us to return home. This kind gentleman refused to accept any money for the repair which was very generous. Thank you, Airport Road Auto Center

I recommend Airport Road Auto Center in the highest possible terms. I have an old car (1999) with 130,000 plus miles, so when they repaired a problem with the rack and pinion and the problem returned three weeks later, I was prepared to hear that on an old car you can never know what to expect. After all, thats true. But instead they took full responsibility and fixed the problem without question, at no charge, and they even replaced a bulb and put in new wipers as a bonus. This is the best of many positive experiences Ive had with this fine firm.
