I have been a regular customer of PC since 2009, usually dropping off shirts to be cleaned every week or two. With the exception of a high rate of broken buttons, their main selling point has been convenience. However, they are not to be trusted, and I will never use them again. Heres why. Back in March 2015, I dropped off 8 shirts to be cleaned. Returning a week later, the owner said I must have been mistaken, there was no order for pickup. He assured me that every order was faithfully recorded in his computer system, and he had no record of me dropping off 8 shirts. I asked Jay to search the store, but he was noncommital. For my part, I searched my closet, the car, the house, puzzled where those shirts had gone, and eventually gave up. 5 of the 8 were recent purchases, so it was particularly disappointing to lose them. I felt sure I had dropped off those shirts at PC, but perhaps I was mistaken. Perhaps they had mistakenly been included in materials dropped off at Goodwill. I gave PC the benefit of the doubt -- after all, how could I argue with Jays computer system? I moved on and purchased 8 replacement shirts, an expense that cost me more than $300. Imagine my surprise this past Wednesday when the owner wordlessly included the 8 with another order and charged me $11.20 for their cleaning. In a rush, I paid and waited to check the order tag later at home. Sure enough, the tag showed these were the shirts dropped off in March, with a pick up date of mid-August. Had Jay been waiting a month before getting up enough courage to return the lost order of shirts to me? I asked him what had happened when I dropped by yesterday to pick up the last order of shirts I will ever leave with PC. Jay explained the March order had been inadvertently filed in a separate part of his computer system. Again, no apology, just the briefest of explanations as he ran my credit card for the latest pickup. The sense that he somehow owed me -- a loyal customer he has seen every week or two for 6 years -- a simple apology for losing my order and the inconvenience that caused -- never seemed to cross his mind. And the chutzpah of actually charging me for the shirts still amazes me.

Unfortunately, this was the worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had. I dont usually leave bad reviews, but in this case it seemed unethical not to as I would hate to have anyone else go through what I did. Potomac Cleaners ruined my favorite blazer, a very expensive, wool blazer with a silk lining and trim worth over $500. When I picked up the blazer, the leather buttons were scorched black and the lining was wilted from an overly hot iron. When I took the blazer back to the cleaners to ask for a refund or at very least a discount, the man behind the counter blamed the retail store where I purchased the blazer for not giving him more specific dry cleaning instructions. I have had this blazer dry cleaned on countless occasions and somehow the other cleaners managed to do decent job. Trust me, this place is not worth the risk! Do not bring any clothing that you care about to this dry cleaner. Not only do they do a terrible job, but they will not admit or recompense any mistakes. SAVE YOUR CLOTHES!

Got alterations done. Not quality work. The price was a robbery for the type of work done. If you charge a high price for alterations at least do an excellent job and do it the way the person wants it done.

Normal service but tends to damage shirt buttons, and requests customer to unbutton shirts.
