Zips Rockville somehow managed to put two significant holes near the left cuff of my navy sport coat. When I returned to the store, the general manager (Monica) tried to blame the holes on moths. I live on the 15th floor of an apartment building and nothing else in my closet had holes. Monica then pulled surveillance video and claimed it clearly showed me dropping off the sport coat with the holes already present. I returned to the store and reviewed the video. Shed lied. You couldnt see anything. I took my jacket to a Rockville tailor who miraculously managed to re-line the jackets cuff and make the damage unnoticeable. For three weeks, I made countless phone calls to try and get Zips to reimburse me for the $45 tailoring cost (mostly out of principle). I consider myself a very level headed person, but it took shouting and threats to get Monica to take action. I wish Google allowed negative scores because 1 star is too kind. This place may be cheap, but their level of customer care is non-existent. Avoid at all costs! And please know, if Zips damages your clothing, you might be able to get some sort of reimbursement, but prepare to fight them tooth and nail.

I mostly agree with the negative things others say about their service, however I think it is mostlydue to the head manager or franchise owner, and not the hourly staff. The head mgr managed to hold my wool overcoat hostage for the whole month of December while I waited on them to call me back. I had to leave several messages and go in several times, and I still never was able to meet or speak directly with the head manager who only comes in a couple days a week and doesnt stay till close of business. I had to complain to corporate in order to get a response from the head manager who never rectified the situation, never spoke with me or took any responsibility, she just left a vague voicemail placing the blame on me. On the other hand, Im very grateful to manager Josefina for going out of her way to kindly rectify the situation. It is because of her kindness that I am willing to try zips again, after my frustrating first experience. The repairs were very well done.

I had a similar experience to Jessica a few years ago. I arrived just a few minutes after they closed (was stopped at extra long traffic light right in front of store or else I would have made it). Staff still there and I politely asked if I could pick up. They refused to open the door. Extremely upset at this point for complete lack of flexibility for a long-time customer, I vowed never return to this or any other Zips. And 3 years later still never return. While I understand about closing hours and staff wanting to get home, I thought I do not need this lack of customer disservice and Zips does not deserve my business. I now use Dry Clean Max right down the road and had similar just a few minutes after closing experience, and they went out of their way to help and allowed me to pick up my clothes. That is the kind of business I will support; not ones that are so inflexible to the point of angering loyal customers.

I wish I did read the customers review before I went to Zips Rockville location. I havent use their service for some time and even I had a bad experience with bad service and extreme rudeness from the manager on Connecticut ave in DC location , but never this one I have decided to use them again (cheappppppppp) That was a mistake. Yes their prices are attractive , but service OMG. I gave them my king size comforter (did before with Zips) and they gave it back to me in 5 day nicely folded , but when I took it from the bag guess what it was never washed!!!! I was shocked from such horrible service I didnt want to go back and to talk to them be cause its useless according to my previous experience with them trying to prove or even point on something everything is customer,s fault. Pay a little bit more where you have good service and nice magagment. Dont go to Zips DC or Rockville. Do you sell a favore plz

Havent been going to this location long but the staff seems easy to deal with and very friendly. But when I discovered rips on two of my shirts both the same general area on the left sleeve I went back to show them and was told they couldnt do anything because they had no tags(I typically get my shirts home take the plastic off as well as the tags and hang them up so they are ready when I want to wear them). I was also told they had been worn. I explained to them that they had been sitting in my car for over a day until I could get into show them the tears. They responded with no theyve been worn and we cant do anything about it. So basically they called me a lair and Im out two very nice shirts. So if you use this location be sure to check everything out before you leave the store.

I was really really surprised to see the number of negative complaints, so I wanted to share my experience: I have been using this Zips for almost a year after changing from another discount cleaners. They do a better job on my shirts (the arms come crossed and the starch level is exactly what I like. (Tip : Always order extra extra heavy starch, they shirts stand up by themselves so you dont need a closet!) The clothes have always been great, and the if they miscount the pieces, they will be honest and refund the money without even having to ask. Staff is always pleasant. Only problem i have ever seen is when this locations software would not allow them to accept Zips discount coupons.

The only thing I have dry cleaned their are my work clothes. I had one bad experience with Zips which they corrected. I received my items, few days laters I decided to put on a pair of slacks that had just been cleaned and noticed a huge stain like something had been poured on them. I looked at all of the slacks that were dry cleaned and they all had that stain. I returned the (4) pairs of slacks and showed the to attendant and she inturn informed the Manager and he stated he could get the stains out at no charge. When I picked my slacks up I looked at the slacks before leaving and the stains had been removed. I still use them and my clothes are fine.

I arrived at 7:06 p.m. (6 minutes after they closed). I gently knocked on the door and kindly asked if I could pick-up my dry cleaning. The guy answers the door and says "no, were closed." I pleaded (I am leaving for a business trip tomorrow), and he refused to give me my pieces. Its VERY disappointing when a company shows no mercy and such disrespect. Based on that experience, I am not spending my money here. Now, my husband literally has to FedEx my two suits to me (this is crazy). Life is hard enough, no need to deal with such poor customer service.
