If the manager that called me was more professional and sympathetic I would not have wasted my time rewritting my review but his lack of professionalism and sympathy is the reason for my update: What can I say, it starts from the manager (who just called me because of my negative yelp review) to the assistant manager (who had me wait for an hour and ten minutes to change a filter that she said would take 20 minutes to do to the service desk guy that was working the front desk with the assistant manager. You could tell the only reason why the manager called me was because he was probably forced to by his boss. He wasnt sympathetic or apologetic at all and when I told him to look at the negative reviews they have online he shrugged it off and said "people write negative reviews for any reason, for example if we leave a finger print on their door on accident there goes another negative review".... its no wonder his employees lack the level of professionalism successful businesses need in todays day and age! He never once apologized for his rude employees (his assistant manager and the big Spanish guy working the front desk that day). Being in the service business for the past 18 years I can tell you this is not how any manager should handle an upset customer. He did not offer any ways of rectifying the situation or even apologize for his employees. It even seemed like he was playing on his computer and not really paying attention when I was telling him my story. If tables were turned the first thing I would have said was "First and formost I am extremely sorry for my employees rude behavior, I have had a very serious talk with them and ensure you that this will never ever happen again. Also I am also extremely sorry for having you wait an hour and ten minutes for a job that we told you would take 20 minutes and should have only taken 20 minutes. I also want to make it up to you by..... again we really want to emphasize how valuable our customers are to us here at Hogan & Sons and the way you were treated is not acceptable". Instead I got a manager that was just calling because he was probably forced to and honestly didnt care and it shows. Here is my original Yelp review: I have been going to Hogan & Sons for over 10 years, I have had bad service there before but this was my last and final attempt to get good service there. First off they had me wait an hour and ten minutes to change a filter that they said would take 20-30 minutes max (originally they said 20 minutes then said 30 minutes). When confronted about this the lady was extremely rude and her coworker was even worst. I was angry and upset for having to wait so long and told them I would write a negative review online about my service. The male coworker then mocked me "ooohhh a negative review oooohh" etc etc. I laughed it off and asked for my keys and left without the filter. I also asked to have the district manager call me but they never did (not surprised). I will not be going back there ever again and when people ask me about that place I will tell them my story. I guess the fact that they barely have 2 stars on yelp and 2.5 stars on Google should be a sign...... I just goggled auto care shops in Herndon and found the following with 4+ stars: AutoScandia, Zaf Auto Repair, Herndon Auto Care & Tire Center, Wiygul Automotive Clinic, Elden Collision Center (I have used them before - they are great). Can you guys take a wild guess on which auto repair shop had the lowest rating? HOGAN & SONS. In fact it had the lowest rating out of 23 auto repair shops in herndon, LOL not surprised (I wish I researched this a while ago).

Our experience here was extremely disappointing. We brought our car in for a diagnostic test since we could tell something was off. The staff informed us that our rear wheel bearings had worn down and would need to be replaced. We bought our car new only two years ago, so the fact that these parts already needed replacement was alarming and seemed to us to indicate a design flaw with the car. Nonetheless, the staff persisted that the wearing down of wheel bearings "just happens." They quoted us $2,100.00 for the replacement. This included a $730.00 charge for each of the two new parts as well as labor costs. This quote seemed outrageous to us, so we decided to do some research and possibly get another quote before spending $2,100.00. We discovered a few things from our research: 1) The replacement parts that were listed for $730.00 each on our quote could be found online for between $120.00 and $250.00. We would expect a modest surcharge to be added by the shop, but such a huge price difference led us to believe that we were being vastly overcharged—especially since the shop was not transparent with us about how much the parts were costing them and what kind of surcharge they were adding. 2) Most sources seem to agree that it is uncommon for both rear wheel bearings to wear out at the same time--usually only one needs replacing. 3) Wheel bearings should not have to be replaced often (if ever), and wearing down of wheel bearings does not "just happen" unless the car had faulty parts in the first place. Based on all of this information we decided that we definitely needed a second opinion. At this point we also decided to look into our car’s warranty, which was something that the staff at Hogan & Sons never brought up or suggested to us, even though the car was obviously only a couple of years old with limited mileage. We found out that the cost of replacing our car’s wheel bearings—including parts and labor—would be completely covered by the warranty. When we brought the car in to a service provider for the replacement we learned that it was only the right rear wheel bearing that needed replacing while the left one was completely fine, just as our own research had suggested. We are now getting our car fixed at no cost to us and without any unnecessary new parts. Hogan & Sons on the other hand, attempted to charge us $730.00 for a part that we did not need. We will not return to Hogan & Sons, and cannot recommend their services based on this experience.

I usually dont write reviews but I hate such a horrible customer service I got in this place. I usually go to jiffy lube, I have never had a bad experience there, but I found a coupon for this place that was very close to my house so, The evening before I made an appointment at 8am for the next day I couldt get to on time, I called and they told me just to bring the car at any time. I came at 9 brought my youngest daughter with me and was told it would take up to an hour to get my oil changed, they offered a ride home which I took and they also mentioned that they would pick me up when the oil change was done. One of the employers took me home and he was the nicest guy I waited to get a call informing me that my car was done but that never happened so around 12:15 I called because I needed to pick up my daughter from preschool at 1. They said they are not gonna pick me up so I had to rush to get stuff done and walk to their place, I had to take a short cut in order to make it on time to get my daughter at 1,well the short cut ended up being cover in mud and getting me and my stroller soaked and muddy as hell. when I finally get there (around 12:55) one of the nice employers let me use the hose to rinse out and also offered to fold my huge stroller for me and put it in the car, well he was sooo nice but he did it wrong and ended up braking my $350 stroller. when I finally get to the front desk guess what?? my car wasnt ready and they didnt even have gotten the oil yet. its already 1:30 I am late to pick up my daughter and dont have a car! They offered a ride (why they didnt they offered me a ride when I first needed or tell me that my car wasnt done until I came! ) Horrible customer service from the front desk people (I think one of them was the manager) so my oil changed that time ended costing me $350 (stroller) + $40 something for the oil + $20 late pick up at my daughters day care! I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY!
