I was in the market for a new storage facility to store a lot of my photography and lighting gear. I had to get out of the last "public storage" facility because it was absolutely disgusting. Everytime I had to get something out of it or put something into it, the dust mounds got higher, the cobwebs got thicker, and the bug population grew larger. I found American Classic Self Storage in Oyster Point via a Google search. I called spoke with Katharine. She was AMAZING. She not only answered all of my questions and concerns on the phone, but she offered to stay late to show me the units they had available and how they differed from their competitors. Their units were a lot cleaner than what I was used to, but to be honest, Katharines level of service and her genuine enthusiasm and warmth was what won me over. She was an extreme pleasure to work with.

The managers at ACSS were great. ACSS on Bell King was my first stop while scouting storage options in Newport News, and I liked that they gave me tour and showed me several units to help decide what I needed. I didnt sign up right away, and they even invited me to check out the other businesses first. I did, and when I came back, I was signed up and putting a lock on my unit within minutes. I had planned on keeping my unit longer, but I got a place much sooner than expected. The staff was helpful, and their grace period policy was fantastic as it gave me the time I needed to empty my unit into my new house without costing me an extra months charges. Closing out took all of 5 minutes, and I was on my way to unpack. I recommend this location, and if I need storage again, ACSS will be my first stop.

I am currently deployed and have had my "home" in storage with American Classic Storage for about 7 months now. So far the experience has been amazing. Since the day I moved in, staff was very helpful and fulfilled my storage needs. I am able to email staff from overseas to ensure my payments are automatically taken every month so I never have to worry about any late fees. I highly recommend them to anyone especially military that is deploying and need a safe and friendly place to store your stuff. They offer military discounts as well! Again, overall very satisfied with their customer service and storage services.

I just wanted to take the time to comment on this business, first the units were extremely clean, available as promised on the phone(the other people lied to me at all 3 other storage places), they have the best value for your money!! Not to mention, the first MONTH IS FREE!!!!! But mostly, dealing with Katherine is a delight and a pleasure. She is professional at all times, she is prompt, but most all she does what she says that going to do. Her word means something, and that means EVERYTHING to me!!!! I would drive 20 extra miles and past 10 self storage places to get to HER and American Classic!! Charlie Wood

We were stunned at how clean all of the units and surrounding property were at Oyster Point, American Classic Self Storage. The wonderful lady, Kathy, that gave us the tour even took the time to stand in the units so we could take pictures and keep a record of proportions. American Classic Self Storage off Bell King road is an amazing facility. The branch manager is an incredible person dedicated to getting you what you need for a great price. They have a truck you can use to move into their units as well. I had a 5x5 unit non-climate controlled that was clean and dry. There was never any evidence of rodents or moisture in my unit. It has competitive pricing and is very central to several apartment complexes. I would recommend this place if you need a great place to store your stuff!

When it was time to look for a Storage unit, this was the first place i came too. American Classic presents itself in a very professional manner. The staff, Rick and Kathy are really nice people and very professional. The pricing of the units are very affordable and more secure than other self storage complexs around. American Classic treats you how you would expect to be treated while at other complexs you are just a customer. American Classic is defiantly the way to go in Self Storage.

Rick & Kathy are exceptional managers, with true knowledge of the local moving and storage scene. The web page was easy to use, and I reserved my unit on-line at lunch time. Kathy got right back to me on email, and gave me a tour when I arrived after work. I bought boxes, and a lock, and insurance. I noticed they even have some parking spots for cars or boats, but they will fill up quick. I felt very safe, and will refer my co-workers for self storage in newport news.

Very friendly and courteous, namely Katharine Hicks, the facility manager. My paperwork and unit was ready when I arrived due to me calling ahead and her being very proficient. You can tell that this company takes pride in their facility and making it a cut above the rest.

This was the absolute best storage facility that Ive ever used. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful. While signing the agreement, she answered any and all questions I had. The facility itself is so incredibly secure I never once was worried about my stuff being stored at this location. In addition to the discounts for being a student, they also offer a free to rent move in truck that was incredibly useful.

I have been a customer for several years. Unfortunately in 2016 the management changed. The transition was bumpy and even still after almost of year at the helm they dont seem to have it together. Fulfilling reasonable requests is a challenge for them (Katharine and James Hicks). I find myself truly missing the old management…..they were much more customer oriented.

Most people would been frustrated with me but I have to say Kate was very patient and understanding with me. The facilities are way nicer and better kept then your local competitors.
