I just went in this morning to start using their storage services and am already won over by not only the company itself but even more by the staff! A wonderful woman by the name of Sheila not only made sure to contact me before I got there to welcome me to using Public Storage and to confirm that I was coming in today but from the moment I walked in to the moment I left Sheila and staff were extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful. She not only had all the answers to my questions and made setting up my account as easy as possible but she took interest in me as a person and made me feel very welcomed. She walked me to my unit, made sure its what I needed and showed me how to access the gate, doors and elevator using my code. I 125% believe that my items are in secure hands and know that they will still be in the same condition as I left them when I return to pick them up. Also the company has GREAT rates on a month to month basis. I definitely made the right decision by choosing Public Storage. If you have ANY storage needs I would highly recommend visiting Sheila and crew at the 35th St Public Storage. You will definitely be taken care of.

I went in 2 hours before closing but the employees said its too late in the day to do the unit rental paperwork. They had the time to show me some storage units though. I reserved a unit using my phone after that, the website said I can indeed do a same day reservation at the time, but the manager said that they are unable to do anything due to lack of time. They contacted me at noon the next day regarding my online reservation and I went in to do the paperwork. The unit they showed was different from the one they showed the previous day in that it required the purchase of a flimsy, proprietary tubular lock for $20. The units they showed me previously used padlocks. Other than to charge people $20 for a proprietary lock, there is no functional reason for the latch to be a different design. In fact, other than for the absence of padlock holes, the latch mechanism appears to be the exact same design. I hate proprietary products where their only function is to charge unnecessary fees so I canceled my reservation and took my business elsewhere.

We rented our unit for $198 per month at the end of March, 2013, from Morningstar Storage. Morning Star was great and did more than expected. with a clean facility and attention the needs of their customers. Morning Star sold out to Public Storage in early 2014. We paid for controlled temperature but by this summer the temperature was not controlled. The first thing we noticed was the hallways that were normally clean and free of debris with a comfortable temperature, to trash in the hallways and unreasonable temperature. When we complained about the temperature in August we were told that they keep it at a consistent 80 degrees. Well, with the humidity probably in the same range as the temperature we found our furniture with mold growing - the closer to the door the worse the mold was. We removed everything by mid September. We would never use this facility again. However, front office staff is very friendly and helpful.

I had the most AMAZING experience renting a storage unit. I had a few difficulties with making my first appointment, but when I call in adjustments were made so that I could get the perfect storage unit. Ashley was beyond helpful. Shiela and Ashley even gave me recommendation on a new lunch option lol. I am beyond please with the customer service. The ability to use a cart to help with moving is amazing. Although have to put your code in to enter, use the elevator, and leave can seem tedious I like knowing that my items I worked hard to buy are well protected. The mattress and sofa cover I brought were very inexpensive. My favorite aspect of renting with Public Storage is the climate controlled units and the extended hours. The price, coupled with the amenities is a STEAL! Make sure to rent a storage unit here and see Ashley and Shiela.

I am a grad student at ODU and will be gone for the entire spring semester. I compared a few different storage units in Norfolk and came here because of the proximity to my house and school. The service I received was fantastic and the woman who helped me showed me multiple different units and took into consideration the types of furniture and boxes I would be bringing in. She was incredibly helpful and explained all the details of the paperwork for me, taking the time to get everything set up just how I needed. This was a fantastic experience and I plan on recommending them to all my friends. The $1 first month rent helped too!

If it was possible I wouldnt give this place any stars! MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE! THE FIRST NIGHT I WENT TO PUT MY THINGS INTO STORAGE MY UNIT HAD GOTTEN BROKEN INTO! THEN WHEN I TRIED TO FILE INSURANCE CLAIM THEY DENINED ME! NOW MY PROPERTY IS GOING UP FOR AUCTION. MOST OF MY PROPERTY WAS STOLEN BO I FELL BEHIND MY PAYMENTS BECAUSE I HAD TO REPLACE EVERYTHING THAT WAS LOST. IVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT MANGEMENT AND EVERYTIME IM BEING TOLD DIFFERENT STORIES! Please do not conduct any business at the company they are horrible! Also there service is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I called Public storage yesterday where I really had to move my stuff asap. Their staff was short, but one particular employee named Sheila made the best of it and got me in and helped me as if there was a full staff. She took care of everything that I needed during my time of frustration, explained everything to me to the point where I understood and did not let my frustrations frustrate her. I left with a genuine smile and sense of relief. I find it amazing how one person, made me love the whole company and I will recommend Public Storage as long as I have these great experiences.

Customer service and accommodations for belongings was fantastic! Ashley S. was very friendly and informative when it came to helping me find a unit and showing us around the facilities! Also a very affordable place for college students needing a place to put some of their belongings for the summer. Conveniently located down the street from ODU as well. I will say if you do decide to rent a unit, the day you arrive make sure you have a lock. If not they do have some there for $20 which is still decent price for the kind of lock they give you.

First off, customer service can make or break a business and as far as Im concerned, Sheila and Sara hit the mark and then go way beyond. If youre looking for a top notch climate controlled storage site, this is the place. The facility is in great shape, the prices are down, and the two ladies mentioned above do a phenomenal job of making sure all the customer needs are met. If you need storage, I would recommend this place to anyone and ask for Sheila or Sara and I guarantee you will leave more than satisfied!

A very clean establishment, with very helpful staff. The storage units are climate controlled and work off of a removable tumbler lock system. So you will need to buy a tumbler lock, but you keep it for later usage. The staff, Mrs. Sheila and Ebony were extremely helpful during the whole process. They clearly explained everything, and were positive and fun to be around. They even let us try donuts and juice they were having. This is the place to go if you want quality storage and even better customer service
