We are one of the contact clients with American Home Shield. I place a work order on Tuesday afternoon and JED plumbing and Gas sent a representative out on Wednesday morning. This was greatly appreciated because we hadnt had hot water all day on Tuesday. When the professional arrived he fixed our leak in our kitchen sink with ease and then inspected our water heater. Apparently, it is the water heater from 1992 and it was dead. He said it is a complete replacement. He said American Home Shield would contact me within an hour and set up the time for the instillation of the new water heater. Well, I waited and waited. When I called American Home shield around 1pm that day. They said that the paperwork had never been submitted from JED plumbing and gas. So I called JED plumbing, directly. Their staff informed me that everything had been submitted to AHS, but that there was a special approval process that needed to be done because there was an overage of $550.00. She informed me that AHS was the one holding everything up because I needed to approve the extra funds. Well, we are on day 4 with absolutely NO hot water! American Home Shield continues to tell me that they need forms from JED plumbing and Gas, but they can never get anyone to pick up the phone. As of right now, no one has ever even ordered our new replacement hot water heater! I dont blame JED plumbing alone. American Home Shield has completely failed as well. Apparently in 2017 it is normal for a family of 5 to have no hot water for days because no one even seems to care. I give both companies and F and pray that no one ever has to use either them. The sad part is AHS has informed me that I cant even get a new company. Im inches away from paying out of pocket for my own plummer. This is just sad.

I scheduled service through the warranty company on early Monday morning and was supposed to receive a call to schedule an appointment within 24 hours. I had to call them on Tuesday afternoon because I had not heard from them. I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday between 8a-1pm for which i had to request a half day of from work. I had to call them on Wednesday at 120pm because nobody had shown up. After speaking with them I was told there was a scheduling error and the lady had forgotten to schedule my service. At first they refused to accept that it was an error in their part as if I was to blame. In the end they were able to get someone else to come to my house between 1-5pm, at tat point I had lost an entire day of work due to their negligence. The plumber shows up at my house around 2pm and after looking around he tells me he needs to call in and find out whether I am covered or not. After about 30 minutes of being in his truck he says that he was not able to get through and does not know whether I am covered or not so he is going to leave. Luckily and unfortunately I had a declarations page on hand and it was determined that I had not coverage for fixtures. Not his fault at all, but the fat that he was just going to leave and leave me there not knowing what was going to happen really upset me. Bad very bad experience overall and I told my warranty company that if I ever have any issues in the future please do not send JED plumbing.

If youre looking for a company out to earn new customers with good service, stay away from JED Mechanical. I took a day off work to stay home for the unusually wide project window I was given of 12-5:30pm. I had two issues for the plumber to look at, which were ordered through my home warranty company. The plumber examined the first, a leak in the wall, which he (reasonably, I think) determined was not a plumbing issue. The second, a pretty simple problem with the toilet, he refused to look at, because he insisted it wasnt on his work order. I showed him the work order I had, which included the toilet, but that wasnt good enough. We sat together waiting on hold with someone from his office, who then said he could not do the job. The back and forth exchange took longer, Im almost certain, than it would have to taken to fix the toilet. When I asked to speak to his colleague on the line, she was rude to me, saying that if he did the job, three other customers would yell at her, which doesnt even make sense. Had the company just done the job, they probably could have become my go-to plumber.

So JED is the supplier of choice for our home warranty company. Technician comes out to do warranty estimate and finds $900 of additional costs above warranty, hhhmm, maybe 1/2 of the amount looked legit. Went back to insurer and price dropped. Appointment set for 12-5, daughter took day off work off...2PM checked to make sure they were still coming, office says yes by 4, checks again at 3:30, still coming per office.....5PM big surprise - no show. Pretty good indication of the integrity of this company in my opinion. Advising her to not let them anywhere near her equipment and will request insurance to find a business that can do the work and respects its customers. Follow up 4/11 - after the home warranty company reached out to JED, they made it right and came today, on time, and did all of the work at no charge. Based on this quick correction I am upping my review to 4 star. Hopefully the have taken action so future customers do not experience the same problem. Pleased that they made it right!

The services performed were great, but the post billing and accounting left me more than frustrated. I had a mix up with my home warranty company, and JED failed to inform me that I had any balance owed. I found out once a collection agency was after me 2 months later. I called in promptly to pay the amount I was quoted first, $300 instead of $400, and the customer service rep said no problem. He verified it in the service notes. Fast forward another month and the collection agency is back again threatening to take me to court for $100. I NEVER received a notification from JED Mechanical that anything else was owed. Before this company threatens legal action, perhaps a quick phone call to clear up any outstanding bills would be best. The customer service rep stated, "I must have forgotten to tell you the owner wanted the other $100." Yeah, you sure did, and this sort of thing can screw with peoples credit!

Had tiny, oily black flecks coming out of my faucet and called AHS for service through our warranty. They sent out JED to service it. The technician, Mogi, was timely, knowledgeable, professionable and personable. He explained that as the faucet ages, the washers inside the faucet that help you adjust from hot to cold water can wear down and start to produce this effect. Unfortunately, this is deep inside of the faucet resulting in the whole faucet needing to be replaced. The warranty would have had him put in a standard faucet replacement, but I wanted the same faucet I had. He said he would come back in two days to install the new one. Thankfully, I knew I could purchase the same faucet I have at Lowes. Mogi came back out and replaced the faucet in little under an hour. Very good service. Would highly recommend them again.
