So me and my family always take our cars here, weve done everything from replacing my Jetta engine, suspension, and cooling system leaks and all that fun stuff. weve taken our honda crv and honda accord and passat there too. When you go here, theyll give you very reasonable prices compared to other shops like Firestone. Jeff and Brian will always go over parts that are needed (they dont replace parts unless they need to, which is great) and will also include parts that may possibly need replacing in the process of fixing your car so you wont be shocked at the end with your bill and if the parts arent needed, your left with a smaller bill! I know that they also do checks on their work to make sure everythings good to go before you drive off. THEY STICK BY THEIR WARRANTIES. I had to replace my water pump, only to have it break again a couple weeks later (vw uses oem parts with plastic sometimes...) but it was fixed right away since it was under warranty with no problems theyre pretty understanding there! One thing you should know before going here though is that when you get your car back, itll probably be fixed perfectly with no problems but if youre impatient and dont have time to wait for them to get to your car and for parts to come in and all that, i wouldnt go here. Spending $2400 so i can pass emissions, every time ive gone in to check on my car theyve been adding on more days. i was supposed to get it back 4 days ago.. i called today (monday) and they said itll be tomorrow.. theyve been saying that since last tuesday... i know my car will be running great with no complaints, they just found a lot of things wrong with my car, dont open on weekends, and have to wait for my cold air intake to come in.

I have taken both newer (05 Subaru) and older (86 F350) cars to Summers over about the last year. The Subaru was making an expensive sounding grinding noise in the rear which they determined was simply a rubbing backing plate on the rear wheel. I was on my way with a minimal bill. The truck is an ongoing project, and I take to them things I cant really do in my own driveway. Ive been there roughly 7 or 8 times with this truck. Its here theyve earned my loyalty: whereas other shops tend to throw up their arms in the face of bigger problems with older cars where you cant plug in an OBD reader and get a code, Jeff and crew have worked with me to break the issues down, troubleshoot nagging problems that seem to befuddle other shops Ive been to, and prioritize what needs to be fixed and what can wait. Ive never had to return a vehicle to fix a problem with their workmanship, and theyre always pleasant when I call in. Prices dont seem like their always the cheapest, but they were always reasonable, and in light of the quality of troubleshooting work (as opposed to throwing parts at something), Ive felt like thats a much better deal in the end. And Ive never had a repair cost exceed an estimate, from a silly backing plate to a rebuilt turbocharger.

Ive been using Summers for over 20 years and my experiences could not be any more opposite than the one negative review. Summers has worked on every car Ive owned that was outside of warranty work. The list of cars includes: 1997 Ford Explorer 2002 Ford Excursion (diesel) Multiple Mazda Miatas 2011 VW GTI 2005 VW Bug (diesel) 2009 Mini Cooper JCW 2005 BMW 330i 2003 Volvo XC90 1992 Toyota MR2 Brian (owner), Jeff, Karen (who I believe have all been there the entire 20 years) and the team have always been professional and fair. Many years ago in high school I worked for a private car collector on cars, so I have some knowledge of cars. I often want to better understand what is broken, etc and they have always been willing to take the time to explain and or show me what was wrong. Writing a review for them here is new, usually after a service, if you have provided them an e-mail address you get a request for a review of your experience through a third party site. To date that site has 500+ reviews with a 4.93/5 rating or 98.6% positive, which in my book speaks for itself. They rock!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! worst service by far i have ever experience at an auto repair shop! i had a transmission replacement - now on my third transmission in less than 2 year. Time without my car = over 1 month cumulative. Whats worse, the service - the owner on each occasion made it sound like his inconvenience to have to deal with labor each time and never once apologized for the inconvenience, time spent, stress of this situation - on the second transmission i had issues with hard, jerky shifting from 1st - 2nd gear, he told me that was "normal" and if it didnt soften in 6 months give him a call. After the third transmission my cars fan kept running after i turned the car off for 5-10 minutes and i brought it back again, they hadnt filled the fluids correctly, but said it was due to a common air bubble. my (3rd transmission) is now leaking and im finally taking it somewhere else. my engine has been completely removed over 4 times and im positive this has caused more damage to my car as i have had several other repairs since. worst kind of auto repair shop do not go here.

Encountered a very rude owner who does not appreciate his clientele. After being made to wait almost 2 hours with no estimate or forewarning as to the extent of their work, I was shocked to hear that not only had my issue not been repaired (my trunk not opening) but rather they had spent that time disassembling the back seats and trunk latches. When I refused to pay $230 just to get my trunk to open, they attempted to make me pay for labor anyways. After the owners rude comment to me (and prompt exit), one of the employees was forced to apologize for his behavior. I left with my backseats in disarray, a plastic bag full of trunk parts in the seat, and a feeling of disbelief.

I was referred to these guys by a friend nearby. Went back in December to replace the tensioner pulley on my 98 Plymouth Grand Voyager, and on May 6 to get some more work done (tune-up, oil change, water pump replacement, fuel pump/filter replacement). It cost me something just short of $1500 - but for all the work I had them do, it was worth it. Quality work, car runs a little better than when I bought it two years ago (amazing!), and honest people who run the shop. They give you exactly what you ask for - so if you can do some of the work, theyll get you to that point. (Theyll warn you about impending problems, but theyll do it.) Happy to refer customers.

Ive been a customer of Summers Automotive since I was 18 years old. I will be 40 next month. I LOVE this company. Brian and Jeff are second only to my father (used to rebuild cars and is my go to guy). My brother was the first to introduce me to Summers Auto. I know that I will always get the best service and best price. At one visit I was quoted a price. When I picked my car up, the bill was $80 less. Once they went into do the job, they realized that they didnt need to replace one of the parts. Integrity and fantastic customer service - you can definitely trust this mechanic! Angela P.
