The costs of servicing pretty much any German car are infamously high, and dealers tend to take advantage of their customers to earn a lot of money on labor. German Car Service elects instead to offer good-value, high-quality parts and labor along with military discounts and season saving opportunities. When I first brought my B5 Volkswagen Passat in for some work, the technicians discovered several issues that my used-car dealership had not disclosed and promptly addressed what was already known. Moreover, they welcomed me into the garage to see the work for myself. As a kinesthetic and visual learner and someone who has a basic understanding of the operation of cars, it was reassuring for me to see the parts that were being worked on and have someone who is clearly familiar with these cars explain the benefits of the work they are performing. I brought my car back for work a few more times since then and have always received great service from the people there. Adam has always been quick to give me a call to keep me updated on the status of my car and his knowledge of cars is expansive; he even goes so far as to sketch diagrams of transmission and engine systems just to demonstrate what parts are being worked on. Jose is always ready to give me a ride back when necessary and he makes the trip enjoyable with some good conversation. And Jim, the main technician for my Passat, has always been honest with his diagnoses and has likely saved me some money with his knowledge of engine error codes. If there is one concern that anyone might have, it is that not every single part used is stock. German Car Service uses stock parts when aftermarket solutions are insufficient, but they have access to high-quality aftermarket parts that can save money without compromising on reliability. With a 1-year 12,000-mile warranty on their work, I am not concerned with the quality of their service. Overall, I dont have a single complaint about the work that has been done on my car. With great staff and affordable, quality work, its an excellent alternative to driving to your nearest dealer and paying more for similar fixes.

I went to this auto service as a result of my passenger window being impaired. The mechanics met me at the door and were quite cordial. I asked them to just put the window up and not to do diagnostics. They did so but it took longer than expected and I was told it was due to the mechanic who was assigned to fix my car having gone to lunch. I was told this after having waited for at least 40 minutes. Although the service desk manager was very kind, I was not happy to have waited so long for my car to be serviced particularly when I just wanted my window put up. I was charged almost $100.00 which is understandable, but I cannot help to compare my experience with my current mechanic and his crew. At Accurate Motorwerks in Vancouver, Wa, Michael Gallagher who is the owner, would have done what I asked much more expediently and if not, he would have informed me as to why----and he would not have charged me! One thing about Accurate Motorwerks they do many things as a courtesy to keep their customers coming back and to increase their customer base. Not to mention the quality of service. That being said, if I had car trouble in that area of Washington again, I would return to German Car Service and give them another opportunity to provide service. May God bless youre business.

TWO HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS JUST TO HAVE THE CAR SIT. Great staff, terrible policies. Took my Audi in after getting it diagnosed twice for an oil leak on the front crank seal and to get that, and only that replaced. Told them about it and was told they would have to do their own diagnostic on it. Hundred and twenty six dollars later, was told numerous other things needed to be fixed before they could get to the crank seal.....a total of what would be twenty two hundred. Wasnt told how much the storage fee would be but got charged an extra hundred.....fifty dollars per day. At the end of the day, I wasted money for them to basically tell me I owed money for them to look at the car and park it on their lot. Definitely do not recommend this place and will not be returning. As for the staff, I was treated with respect and had an easy time communicating with them. The staff is not the problem here by any means. They are very professional and respectful to the customers.

German Car Service will get my business again. I figured I could save myself the trip to Tacoma Mercedes and maybe a few bucks too. It was convenient working with a local shop here in town. The technicians/staff were knowledgable, and they provided good customer service. Prices for quoted parts and labor didnt differ greatly from what Ive experienced in going through a Mercedes dealer directly, but I appreciated that they were upfront and to the point for anticipated costs. Theyll definitely be my first stop next time I need to take my rig in.

Ive had three cars services here, it took me a while to learn my lesson. The guy that owns the shop, Reinhard, isnt very attentive, hes inflexible, and multiple things that he has installed on my cars (740iL, 911, E-Class MB) either later failed, werent fixed properly, or were too expensive to repair. There arent many good wrenches in Oly, but Id drive to Tacoma or Seattle and stay away from this guy and his shop.

They did extensive work which proved to be worth every penny. However, one issue we had was a small oil leak after the repairs, and when we left our vw with them for a few days for observation, it was returned to us with a shiny new oil pan plug, but they said they couldnt find anything...and our hood was damaged from either tree sap, or fireworks. I buffed out the hood, but its still slightly noticeable.

Adam and his team took care of my BMW that was having throttle body issues. They were able to order the parts and get everything installed no issues within a couple days. If youre looking for a better alternative to a dealership this is the place to go.

These gentleman are extremely professional, I have an older BMW, the mechanic took the time to show me what had happened, that in itself deserves an A++ from me and the guys at the desk were pretty awesome too.

Friendly staff who are easy to talk to. Shop is clean and so is the waiting area. Parking is pretty easy, however, be prepared to wait for traffic to clear if turning left into the lot.
