I had the worst experience Ive ever had at any mechanic here. I dropped my van off as it had failed the emissions test required for registration in Washington state. They told me the diagnostic work would take two hours, I dropped the van off at 9am, called at 12 after not hearing from them, to be told that the van had not yet been looked at, and that I would be called back in 45min. An hour passed, so I called again, only to be told that the mechanic had gone to lunch. Great. So eventually I walked back to the workshop only to be told that the battery on the diagnostic equipment had gone flat and that it would take 30min to charge. So I sat in their waiting area until theyd finished. An hour later I had my van back, and I was essentially charged $200 to be told what another mechanic had told me for nothing (that the emissions system leak was behind the gas tank and it needs to come out). I didnt go with that mechanic as they couldnt fit me in early enough, and Im really regretting it now. They basically stretched out the process as long as possible, wasting most of a days worth of my time, and essentially charged me for doing very little. The justification of this was "you need to spend at least $150 to get your tabs". What they failed to mention is that this figure INCLUDES tax. * I just called them to give them the chance to respond to my complaint before I plastered it all over the internet. The manager, Jerry, thought that yelling at me and questioning my intelligence would fix the problem. He is sadly mistaken. In closing, if you want to be overcharged, have your time wasted, be lied to, and have be abused when you take issue with the way youre treated, by all means go to Crown Automotive. If not, look elsewhere. Also, I would give this no stars at all if Google would let me.

I have a 1973 Jensen Healey sports car, which I have had since 1983, so 34 years now. When the time came to restore my baby I brought it to Crown Hill and asked them to not only restore it but to rebuild it as a totally custom car. They did a terrific job. My car has a custom engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, dash, instruments, body work, paint, electrical system, wheels, etc. This is a completely custom car with a lot of little details that Jerry and his crew had to build from scratch. Anything that Jerry and his crew did not build themselves they referred me to first class contractors and suppliers for things like paint, upholstery, convertible top, etc. I am ecstatic with the car. Seriously, I could afford a Ferrari and my wife cant understand why I love this car so much, but I do and it is thanks to Jerry and Crown Hill. Very knowledgeable and great people to work with. My intention was to build a combination street/track day car and I cant wait to take it down to Pacific Raceways and wring it out.

Im fairly happy with the work I had done. Before having them work on my vehicle I regularly walked by the shop while doing errands and always saw them working on many classic cars. I have an old Jeep CJ7 and my previous go to shop, "The Shop" in Ballard wouldnt work on it so I figured I give Crown Hill a try. It hadnt run for four years and thirty minutes after having it towed to them they had it going. I cant say theyre perfect but my Jeep had such an extensive list of problems to fix that I never expected them to iron everything out my first visit. Although I had to initially schedule an appointment two weeks out, since then when a minor issue pops up, they tell me to bring it by whenever and they quickly take care of it. All in all Id recommend them to everyone with a classic car.

I welcome this opportunity to praise and recommend the service provided by Crown Hill British Automotive. They (and in particular Jerry , the owner , and Andy, the principal mechanic) have expertise and many years of experience with cars like mine, a 20 year old Jaguar which for over 8 years now they have regularly serviced and whenever necessary repaired to keep it in prime condition and running as well as it did when new -- and that was very well indeed. Also, they are friendly and prompt and they furnish free loaner cars when needed.

They were professional and courteous. Charged me what they said they would charge, showed me the results of my alignment and gave me a copy of the report. They also got the job done in the time they promised. It was my birthday weekend and I was going to the Oregon Coast directly after the service was performed. It worked out great and I am happy!

Been a customer for nearly 20 years. i initially found them by going to an automotive machine shop and asking who the best mechanic in the area was. Jerry, Andy, Ray and the rest all do a great job. Honest, no up-selling, and always quality work. Best Ive seen.

Ive dealt with Jerry and Crown Hill for many years. All types of vehicles from 60s classics to late model BMWs and have always been satisfied. Its hard to find people in any business you can trust, but Crown Hill is first rate. You wont do better.
