I switched to try out Elite Auto Care from my other mechanic so that I could try other places out. I called and asked if they had everything to work on my 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear. They said yes they do. My car had trouble starting and my brother spared some time with me to diagnose the problem. We thought it had to do with the fuel system so we changed out the fuel filter and the fuel relay with no luck. We figured it must be the fuel pump. Since we didnt want to damage the car I had it towed to Elite Auto Care. They said they would take a look at it in the morning to diagnose the problem. At the end of the day before closing I got a call saying that they used up the hour they provide as their normal exploration phase. He said that they had ruled out it being the fuel pump and it looked more like an internal engine problem. I said go ahead and look some more the next day. I said Id love to get it figured out. I asked if they ran a diagnostic with the sensor on my car. They said it wouldnt help. I told them my car has sensors all over and that it might help to pinpoint something since the check engine light was on. He argued it wouldnt help, even though I know from past mechanics that has helped pinpoint problems. I thought this was weird but said ok continue looking, I would love to get my car ASAP. The next day he didnt call so I called at the end of the day. He then said that they did more testing and that it looked like it WAS the fuel pump. I said ok go ahead and fix it. He said they would get on it the next day. Around noon the next day I got a call saying the car was fixed and ready to go. I went to pick it up and saw my car sitting infront of the shop with all the windows down sitting in the sun. I thought, thats weird. I went to go pay and talk to the store manager (?). While paying I asked why he told me they ruled out the fuel pump when thats originally what I said I thought the problem was. He said that the compression of the engine caught his attention so they went that direction. I still dont understand how they didnt originally catch the fuel pump when I pointed them in that direction. He marked off half an hour to account for it as well as I asked about their 10% off for new customers ad on their website. He acted like he didnt know what I was talking about until later when he said oh I have seen the add go out on a printed flier which he then pulled out to show me. I asked if they had a chance to look at my security system that was having problems and he said they didnt have the proper electronic diagnostic tool that it took to read what was wrong. THE SAME diagnostic tool I had been telling them to use to read what was wrong with my car so that they could fix it! I thought they said they had all the tools to work on my Saab. Thats why I brought it there!! I paid then went out to my car. After I got in I smelled a strong gas smell in the car. I thought it might be normal after changing a fuel pump so drove home. After 2 days now my car still wreaks like gas. I am planning to call on Monday to figure out what the deal is.

I took my Porsche Cayenne to these guys on a recommendation of a friend. I was a little nervous as my car has never been serviced anywhere but the Porsche Dealership in Bellevue. So, I pull into this little shop in Ballard and hand over the keys. The great thing was that I got to basically stand there and watch. Theres good new and bad news in the "stand there and watch"! As I watched the technician do the oil change, I could feel my blood pressure rising. The more I talked with the tech about the steps he was taking the more POd I got! So, why the 5-star rating if I was Po"d? Because, by watching this tech work, I realized how much I was getting screwed by the Bellevue Porsche dealership on oil changes. I paid a little over $100 at Elite. Barrier Porsche charges me $280. When I ask them why they charged so much, the dealership told me it took the 30 minutes to R&R the shroud under the oil pan. Hmmm, well the technician at Elite must be a technological wonder as it only took him about 3 minutes!!! As well, I would have to drop my car off at Barrier and leave it for 1/2 a day. At Elite, I pull in, they put it on the lift and less than 45 minutes later I am driving off with a completed oil change, top off of fluids and a life expectancy report on my brakes (and oh, by the way, the quote to replace the brakes was exactly 1/2 of what the dealership wanted). The tech was pretty cool (sorry, didnt get his name) and Ken was nice as well. I think the most notable thing that happened was the fact that they misquoted me the price for the oil change. When they quoted me, he forgot to put the oil filter on the quote, which was about $20. Instead of charging me for it, Ken said that it was his mistake and I only had to pay the quoted price. I told him Id pay for the filter and he refused. I offered to split the cost with him and he still refused. Here I am trying to give them more money and they are refusing it in principal; I can count the number of times that has happened before-ZERO! Bottom line to extract from the above ramblings, these guys are legit. Ill be taking my car back for future service and spending the money I save at REI...

We recently bought an Audi that is (shockingly) finnicky and often sick. After trying out a few other places, Elite is where weve landed, and weve come to trust them, their expertise, and their honesty. I never feel rushed to make a decision, and I never feel like they are remotely trying to up sell our repairs or scare us into something were not ready for or are unsure of. Weve always been happy with the repairs and the prices, but what really sells this place (for me) is Tyler. He is amazing. My husband primarily handles the car stuff (boy parts = car knowledge, on the genetic level, I do believe), but Ive talked to Tyler twice and he has been exceedingly helpful and friendly, and quite honestly, above and beyond. I called him just today practically in tears because were at a loss with what to do at the point in our cars life, and he was patient, kind, and walked me through where we were at and most importantly, what might be next. His insight and advice were exactly what I needed, and it left me with a better handle on our cars repairs - and also a great reminder of the fact that a good mechanic should first be a good person. I would recommend them to anyone with a German engineered car - I think Tylers got a great understanding of them and I wouldnt take our car anywhere else.
