I recently brought my 1985 BMW 325e into your shop for the front brake assembly, oil change, and transmission service; which included the rotors, calipers, brake pads, and assembly in addition to the oil and transmission service. I regret to inform you that right after I brought it in - as suspected i.e. the place looks run down, they work in a very poor area of town, they forget to write everything down as you requested, then they dont give you enough time or room to explain anything about the issues with the car (really, really, small office; reminds me of a battery store); my car experienced fuel air mixture problems. I believe the mechanics are reviewing reviews and reverse engineering the reviews in order to disseminate an alternative to a follow-up. I bought this car from a long term BMW owner who serviced the car and told me about the few problems it had. I subsequently drove the car for about 2500 miles or less without any problem other than a brake issue that I should have taken care of earlier. I drove the car around in the yard ( about 5 acres) to test the brakes without any fuel air mixtures and it drove perfectly (idle, stop, accelerate, etc..). After leaving the shop, less than a day; my car has fuel air mixture problems everywhere, the transmission; which was serviced there, is also leaking faster than it did originally as is the oil. Obviously we wouldnt bring the car back after they may have sabotaged the vehicle. If you have an older car, dont bring it their as they probably have part theft issues everywhere (car cpus sell on E-Bay for around $300.00). Ive heard of these shops swapping parts on older cars and leaving them with broken parts in the car. I wouldnt doubt they have likely participated in the same.

Silverdale Auto Works has the European Import/Luxury vehicle market cornered. They handled my 2000 Audi A6 last year. There was a minor transmission leak that needed to be repaired. They charged me $1500 for the transmission fluid hose and installation and an additional $150 for a battery. When I arrived to the shop to get my car the back 2 tires were almost completely flat. (Very expensive low-profile) I tried to get into the car and start her up, however the brand new $150 battery had died because they shut the seatbelt in the door. He used a portable jumpstarter and the car cranked. White smoke began billowing from under the hood and out the dual exhausts. He assured me that the smoke was just residual oil from the oil change they billed me for that I didnt ask for. He then aired up the rear tires and we went straight to the nearest gas pumps because my half-tank had famished. I drove the car home with it smoking like a greenwood campfire for the duration. The next morning I was about to leave for work when I saw an enormous puddle of transmission fluid under my car and running all over the street where neighborhood kids play. I got inside the car to crank it to warm the engine and guess what?! The "new" battery was dead again. I called them and calmly explained what I was looking at. They want me to pay to have it towed all the way back there. Which was almost $300 AND they werent going to replace the battery for free... Ultimately, I googled how to fix the issue myself and took care of it. Wtf did I pay $1500 for? Thats a months rent. I will never use them again and neither should you.

I should have read your review before taking my car to this shop. But just like you I had high expectation because this place was small and AAA approved. But over $327 after and just a replaced battery I feel robbed and almost insulted. I took my car in because my battery kept loosing charge. While they were taking my info my daughter mentioned a window malfunction, so they claimed that they needed to also look at my electrical system. Well after all, it was not an electrical issue and just a battery gone bad. I mean at some point during testing the battery, which should be step number one, someone should have realized that at look at the electrical system was not necessary and so wasnt the extra charge. But the battery was the LAST thing to be checked according the attendant because “I” (like if either me or my daughter where mechanics) mentioned the window issue and also mentioned that AAA checked my battery. But I did argue this as an illogical and unnecessary procedure and received a small discount on the services bringing my total to $272 for an UNNECESSARY labor and a REBUILT battery. After waiting all day long without a call indicating that my car was ready I finally decided to walk into the shop to pick up my car at 5pm. One of the attendant proceeded to let me know that they just got the battery for my car an it need it to be install, about 15 minutes later I was in my car and as I was driving away I couldn’t help noticed that my clock indicated 1:28….obviously my battery was not just installed.

After seeing they were AAA approved and a smaller shop I had high hopes. I stopped by to see about many issues on an older car. My main concerns were oil leakage, exhaust system condition, and steering. They said they could steam the engine and put a dye in to see where it leaks for around $80, and do a full rest of the vehicle inspection along with that (for the same price). Called a couple days later to set up the appointment. Dropped the car off, got it back later than promised, only a safety/general inspection performed. Nothing noted on the sheet as far as exhaust condition, engine was too dirty to determine and had a recommendation of steam and dye (which was what they were supposed to be doing), and tie rod end needed to be replaced. I was charged $120. After replacing the tie rod end my steering was still not very good so I went to Firestone. They let me know I needed drag link ends and a new pitman arm, and also said they charge $15 for what Silverdale Autoworks did for $120. I would definitely look elsewhere.

In early 2017, our car began experiencing periodic braking problems. We consulted with a nationally known brake specialty operation on several occasions and a Poulsbo mechanics repair shop that resulted in a complete installation of new brakes with a declaration that the brake system was fine. Thus, when driving down a steep incline, the brakes failed completely, Having survived, Silverdale Autoworks was referred to us and in less than 40 minutes they identified the problem, ordered necessary parts and early the next day we returned home, happy to still be alive and very grateful to Service Advisor,John Dombrock, and Autoworks specialists. At Silverdale Autoworks, one is treated with respect, kindness and not as just another number to get in line. They are very skilled and justify a five plus, plus rating.

I have had all of my cars serviced at Silverdale Autoworks for over eight years now. Bob and his crew are friendly and professional, yet still treat us like we are a people. They are kind and caring. Being a military family, I have had car work done in many states. I trust Bob and his crew to take care of anyone I would recommend to their business and treat them fairly. They have always taken their time to explain the situation, and tell me what my options are, whether good or bad, each and every time. In the last eight years I have traded in cars, but have not traded in my car mechanic. I would never leave the guys I consider "my personal mechanics"! Thank you Bob, Ken, Kate, Don and Luis for taking such good care of us.
