March 27th, 2015 - On this day, I have recovered a car that had been stolen over five years ago! The midnight call shaking me out of my sleep from the Sheriffs Department announcing its existence was startling to say the least as I honestly never expected to see or hear of this vehicle again. I could barely sleep through that night. My morning started early in a rush as you might expect, scrambling to have the car transferred to storage that I had not yet secured. To complicate issues further and also to not have any more compounding fees added to by the towing company for not removing from their yard, I was two states away from where the car had been recovered and was being held, in Washington State. I tried first calling Mom & Pop facilities thinking I would find more compassion explaining my desperately strange situation. This, however, was not to be. One) primarily, that I was out of state and two) that I did not have a required vehicle registration to prove that I was whom I said I was. The latter document was inaccessible in another storage facility also in Washington State. I was desperate. I knew that if I could not book a storage facility over the phone, I would end up with daily compounding impound fees from the towing yard, costs for an immediate flight booking, rental car and etcetera! - All amounting to more money out of pocket... or, I could just sign off the Title and surrender the car to the towing company. Well, I am too determined for that! In comes the Public Storage Team! As cool as I could be with everything I had stacked upon me, I first booked with corporate a 10x20 outdoor space. I then received the standard email announcement greeting me, letting me know that I would soon receive a call from the local PS Team Manager. The call from Area Manager Dee at 801 N. Mildred Street came in and she listened to my unique story. She could tell that I was frazzled. She clearly stated that PS Corporate gives her the authority in certain cases to override policy in requiring certain documents from the client be provided to show ownership. My Washington State Vehicle Title and Registration were both in storage, since I never thought I would see the vehicle again. This override was given based off of the Vehicle Theft Report, provided Case Number, a Copy of my current Drivers License to prove I was who I said I was, and Verification through Public Storages own source that there was in fact no liens or encumbrances on it. The car was recovered with no engine. Dee also called Rebecca at the 32nd Avenue Ct S. location to help sort all of the details out and find where best to place me. Permission was granted and they even called the towing yard to let them know the vehicle was cleared to be transported as soon they were able. Rebecca was a dear and even stayed a couple of minutes extra to let the late arriving tow truck in the gates to park my car. A car I never in my wildest dreams thought I would see again. She pulled the door down on the garage and called me back to tell me it was locked in and secured! I could have been brief in description here but I couldnt have shown my truest gratitude. Please understand; this was a huge blessing to me that everything happened like it did - from the phone call from the Sheriffs Department announcing the recovery, to dealing positively with the sweet lady at Genes Towing, who I am positive that in her position she gets yelled at on a daily basis if not by the hour. Who also, by the way, ended up not charging me for the tow to PS (an $80 charge - WAIVED!) And finally the pleasure of dealing with both Rebecca and Dee at Public Storage of Tacoma. Thank you so much. I cannot put into words how grateful I am, that you went the EXTRA MILE (seemingly a forgotten art) to help me. You restored my faith in humanity! The recovery of my car I have owned for over 23 years was an absolute miracle... and everything that followed and continues to unfold as a part of it, is too! My Mother was right - bless her heart - you do catch more bees with honey! God Bless you both.

I recently relocated to Tacoma for business and only moved a few things from my household as moving professionally across country is cost prohibitive. I was a newbie to storage. I called ahead and set up a time upon my arrival in Washington to meet and sign up for a storage unit. I had 8 boxes of personal belongings sent to me UPS which were to arrive the Tuesday following my Friday appointment time at the storage facility. I arrived at the designated appointment time on Friday morning. The rental office was clean and tidy. My check in was easy and Dee and Emily were both very helpful in ensuring I got the best storage unit for my personal needs. They were very thorough in explaining the process as I had no prior storage experience. Being that most of my belongings were clothes, they suggested inside storage. The cost was reasonable and they even have locks so you dont have to bring one of your own, The facility is in the north end of Tacoma which is the better end of Tacoma so the neighborhood is not sketchy. Being a single woman and not knowing what to expect, security was of utmost importance to me. Dee and Emily were very sensitive to my concerns and assured me that all would be well, There is a secure gate just to get into storage area and then another door lock code required if you are storing inside. I felt my items were totally secure and did not feel unsafe when I gradually moved my boxes out. A special thanks to Dee and Emily as they were so kind to ask the UPS delivery man to deliver my boxes straight to my storage unit so I didnt have to wait around all day for UPS delivery. All in all, a very positive experience and I recommend this facility.

Today I walked into this public storage with mixed emotions. I have heard good things and bad things about this company but I had to take a chance. I walked in and was immediately greeted from Rebecca with a smile and the warmest welcome I have ever felt. At that moment I felt like my needs would be met and any concerns I had. I was inquiring on a storage unit and she was so thorough in her questions and we decided on a 10x20 and with a huge smile we went out and while walking to the unit she gave me a run down of all the features I would have at my disposal. We walked back to the office and the whole time she engaged me in conversation which is very rare to find in the customer service industry. Rebecca showed everything I will need to store my belongings which I thank her for. She showed me that she cared about my belongings. Even though we went through that whole process and I didnt rent today? I know that because of Rebecca my opinion of public storage changed, and when Im ready to rent I will most definitely go to public storage and rent from Rebecca. Public Storage is very lucky to have Rebecca working for them? She is what customer service is all about.
