I have been tracking an international package that had already left the Seattle station and was told that it should be in Tacoma today. My experience was HORRIBLE when I initially called the Tacoma downtown station and the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE from GRACE that I have ever received. I called regarding an express package that was supposed to be at the downtown post office today and Grace would NOT listen or LOOK for my package...she just simply told me to call her back tomorrow and was very rude. WORST customer service ever!!! I called back 5 minutes later and talked to FRANCIS. He was AWESOME and took down my information, tracking number and address and phone number. Within 20 minutes Francis called me back to tell me that my package was there. I hope that FRANCIS gets RECOGNITION for his EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and PROMPTNESS. He was friendly and listened. Grace should have to learn Customer Service skills from Francis and she should NOT be in the position of Manager if she cannot learn how to treat customers. My rating for GRACE = HATED IT!!! FRANCIS made my day, simply because he did his job and went the extra mile to take care of me as a customer. I TRULY APPRECIATE FRANCIS for doing this as I needed to be able to track this package today. THANK YOU FRANCIS - YOU ARE A STAR!!! My rating for FRANCIS - LOVED IT!!!!!!!!! Grace, Take Notes!

These guys are total rip-off artists. I took a package in that was really close to the size for their BALLOON rate. All of the people there either did not know how to properly measure a package or just plain added inches. One of the guys that was measuring took all of his measurements on angle instead of straight across. Another measured by holding extra length on the hook end of the tape measure, and in the process adding (I kid you not) an extra inch and a half to the overall measurement. He also told me that it was policy to round up to the next number. The USPS policy is to round to the nearest number. He was saying that 25-1/4" was actually 26". After I called them on their improper technique they resorted to the buddy system backing each other up on what they were measuring and not showing me the dimension while they were doing it. They are totally crooked, especially one of them, I didnt get his name but I will be sure to get it and post it here.

Some other reviewers must be confused with a different post office. My experiences with this branch have been consistently positive, even when dealing with a problem (misdirected package). The postal workers are always helpful and quite polite. Anyone complaining about this branch needs to visit the University Place/Fircrest facility: lazy, rude, and not to be believed (supervisor had to intervene with an employee who distorted the truth [some would say "lied"], making up a post office policy so he wouldnt have to go get something for me from the back--luckily the supervisor had more integrity than the little gentleman working the counter). The downtown Tacoma branch gets 5 stars and hearty thanks from me for doing a fine job!

Ive lived in Tacoma for about a year now,and have not had a problem with the mail service. Except the one time when I actually saw the mailman delivering the mail in my apartment building and I went to look in the mailbox and he almost ripped my freaking head off for it. But that was the only issue. Any time Ive actually gone to this particular post office Ive had nothing but friendly service and workers that go above and beyond to help me.More importantly the guy made me smile and laugh, i didnt even mind waiting in line for 10 mins.good job!

They dont even deserve any stars, I havent received any mail for more than a few months and have repeatedly complained with no resolution. It is a real problem and the guy who I spoke with didnt even talk to me about anything he took a copy of my license and took my number and nothing ever got resolved. I have not moved as they claim I did and I have not requested a change of address either I have lived a the same address for 4 years!!!!!!! What else am I supposed to do if filing a complaint and going down there doesnt fix anything.

I recently move to Tacoma from Gig Harbor what at difference!!!! In GH I mever had a problem here in Tacoma one day I get mail then I dont get mail for 3 days! I made the mistake to go on vacation when to the accual office and had my mail held until I got back what a mistake!!! I sometimes get mail and other I dont normally I received lots of mail!! Had gone in person 4 times and nothing has been done and when I get any is my next door neighbor mail...Please pay attention and do your job right!!!

I am extremely disappointed in our mail service. Whenever I get a package that is suppose to be delivered on a specific day its not then when I call the post office nobody answers the phone . This has happened at least 5 times in about a year and a half.
