Not horrible, by any means, but I felt unwanted and who needs that? The front desk staff here is a bit above themselves, like whoo hoo, I am GENE freakin Juarez, and unless you are one of the beautiful people, you are not good enough to be treated politely. Ive been going here for years, because while not a complete slave to my hair, I know what I want and how I want it, and the stylists here are well trained enough to perform. But to be honest, I am a 40s mom and apparently dont fit the demographic of their preferred customer any more. I have been left standing at the podium waiting to check in, treated rudely by staff, and actually been eye-rolled over my hair color choice. I am letting my hair go grey naturally (not married to that idea but every time Ive spoke to a color consultant there, they dont present an idea that appeals to me--not everyone needs plat blonde or honey blonde highlights, just FYI) and some of the stylists (and especially the color consultants) act like grey hair is a disease. Im on the hunt for a new stylist in Tukwila, as painful as that process might be.

TERRIBLE SERVICE, had an appointment with Alex for a balayage and to say she was rude is an understatement. She started by SHOUTING my name out in the tiny waiting room. Unprofessional right out of the gate! She continued to argue with me about the results I would have without even TOUCHING MY HAIR! She could have performed a strand test to see how light my hair could lift but instead just talked me out of my services. I REFUSE to pay $200 for a color service that I wont be happy with. Instead of trying to make me feel comfortable with her abilities she made me uncomfortable to the point that I stood up and walked out. NEVER GOING BACK HERE! The other reviewers were right in their bad reviews, frankly Im disgusted with the level of service this location offers!

Ive been going to Gene Juarez for years . I always saw Chloe and shes awesome ! Great lady and she does an awesome job. The last 2 times I went there the appt people at the desk have screwed up my appts. I went to see the very rude colorist who didnt have time to do what I wanted then also told me last minute that the color was going to cost $210 . then she was going to do an all over color that is almost the same as my normal hair color . I decided thats not what I wanted and I got to sit in the waiting room very upset with my afro ponytail. I yelled at their 10 yr old manager that could care less and I left. I had 4 hours of sleep and drove an hour just to get treated like crap. Thanks , but no thanks.

Really disappointed. Took my teen daughter in for a full balayage with Karmen. I was charged for a full balayage (over $200) but when I got home my daughter said that none of the back of her hair was done (she left the salon with wet hair). I called to find out why we paid for a full balayage when they basically did a partial because nothing was done to the back / bottom of her hair. The receptionist spoke with the manager and Karmen then came back on the phone and told me that that because my teen daughter "had a ton of hair" Karmen couldnt do the back. This was our first time going to Gene Juarez and it will be our last. Hope cutting corners was worth losing a customer.

I have been getting my hair cut here for 4 years. It is convenient, close to my office. My cuts had been good to great, normally $40.00. More recently they started pushing the price up, $45, then $50. I called to get an appointment and was told it would be $80.00..... For a Mens haircut..... That is outrageous and truly offensive. I ask the person on the phone why the price has doubled in that last 6 weeks. He asks me, How about $70. I ask again, why has the price doubled in 6 weeks? He says, How about $60. I am trying to get a haircut, not buy a used care. Never going back.

Ive been to Gene Juarez Salons in Tacoma and Puyallup many times and had wonderful experiences there. The one at Southcenter was a JOKE! I got a cut and color for $$$160 which was done with a more half a^^ job then youd find at a Supercuts for $10. When I told them I wasnt happy with the coloring they did, they simply tried to throw a bunch of crap at me saying it was my fault I hadnt come in sooner rather than their fault for not coloring it correctly, Id AVOID this Gene Juarez and just find a nice different salon that will do WHAT YOU WANT for A LOT LESS!

Most ridiculous thing just happened .. I had a balayage and cut scheduled. The cut was scheduled afterwards ... I tried to cancel the cut wasnt going to have enough time . Was told I couldnt do the color with out the cut ? UM WHAT ? Its two separate stylists .. The girl on the phone couldnt give me a straight answer just kept saying its our policy ... I cancelled both now ... I have been going to the Southcenter salon for years .... NOT anymore . The people who answer the phones need to be able to answer questions ... .This is ridiculous .....

Ive been getting my hair done by Sky for over a year now. She always gives me a great cut and is very, very sweet to be around. If you feel like talking, shell talk and if not, she is quiet. One of my biggest complaints when I go to a salon is the constant talking of some of the stylists. Sky is not like that at all - She is very considerate, polite and professional. It is well worth every penney I spend to have her cut my hair.

Where do I begin? Ive been going to Gene Juarez for nearly 20 years. For my hair color, cuts, updo's, makeup, facials, waxing, massages and pedicures. Every stylist there have become family to me especially Holly, Anne, Peter, Alaina, Paris, Monet and Paisley just to name a few. You will not be disappointed. You definitely get what you pay for and even more...friends.

Overpriced. For 80 dollars I got a 3 min long scalp massage and a 15 min long haircut. The hairstylist seemed rushed and used a razor to cut layers my hair (usually a no-no on fine hair). She never even bothered to ask me if I was ok with a razor cut. The haircut turned out to be ok, even if not exactly what I wanted, but I could have got one like that for half the money.

This place is just way too expensive. I mean they provide a really good service and their staff is generally really friendly but they continue to just raise their prices and make it not worth it. I cant justify paying their prices when you can go to a local salon, get the same services for half the price and support local.

Had my hair cut my Jennifer told her I only wanted 3 inches cut off and she ended up cutting 10 my hair was down to my lower back and now its shoulder length. I definitely will not be going back for any future cuts! Was very specific that I wanted to keep my length and she just continued cutting more hair even shorter!!
