Ive been to Great Clips in Yelm about half a dozen times. My first few visits I was satisfied, as I received the service one can expect from an economy hair cut place. My last two visits, however, have convinced me that I will not be going back to them again. They have a system setup that as you check in, your name goes in the lineup. The lineup is displayed on a screen by the waiting area. You even have the opportunity to check in online before you head in, that way you "should" have a shorter waiting time. Of the last two times I went, I checked in online once, and walked in the other time. In BOTH instances I was bumped further down the lineup because the hairstylist decided to give preference to someone they knew. In the case where I had checked in online, the person was behind me in the lineup. In the case where I walked in, the person wasnt even in the lineup! I sat there for 25 minutes waiting my turn, and their friend (or family member) walked right in and took my spot! If youre going to display the order that youre going to take care of your customers in, you should stick to it. You should not give preference to friends or family members, because it is very obvious to the rest of the customers waiting. It is extremely unprofessional, and only speaks to the over all quality of service youre going to get.

I waited and waited as they called out people who did not show up. The haircut took less than two minutes and they still screwed it up. Typical military haircut. The lady said "if I would have known it was going to be an easy haircut" did I look like I wanted a perm? Ok Im easy what really pissed me off was her statement that men dont help around the home with a child. In our home and many other homes its 150 / 150 from each partner. Sexist remarks are unprofessional. This place should be boycotted by all in the yelm area who know the sacrifice it takes to be a great parenting team. This place reeks of Misandry and poor service.

I went there to get my haircut for work all I asked for was a 1 all the way around and when I went home and showered I looked at my hair and I see a bunch of stray hairs...and I paid way to much for them shaving my head bald...im just gonna buy clipers and cut my hair myself from now on.

My dad insists on this particular salon. The staff are always friendly they have affordable prices and they do a wonderful job. Highlights, to boy cuts and beard trims, to waxing its worth it for the price.

I always check in online and never have any issues. Havent been crossed by an unfriendly employee yet. If they can do better they can either do it themselves or go to an actual salon!

Ive paid $75 for a hair cut at a high end barber and they did just as good for a fraction of the price. They are always nice and professional.
