Horrible experience! Went in to update my account info because my debit card number had changed. I needed to give them a new number, which I did. Total hassle! The lady couldnt find my account... LA Fitness how can you not find my account info with all of todays computer technology? Really? So she tired to tell me it must of been cancelled and I needed to reopen the membership. Im like no...lol thats ridiculous. I just received a email a week ago asking me to update my card number. So I search through my phone email to find my account info. She finally locates my account. We realize my phone number was entered wrong in there system. But she cant change it...What? Why? Lets fix it and be done. Apparently she cant. She said "only a manager can change a phone number". No managers available. But she was able to change the home address but thats it. At this point Im ok with calling tomorrow to speak with a manager and request my phone number be changed. Still nonsense but life goes on no biggie. Bigger issue. I have my 11 year son with me that wants to try the gym this week. I ask if I can bring him with me tomorrow for a free trial. She says no. I was surprised by the response. I thought LA Fitness offered guest passes? Ive never used one and figured now would be a great time after all he is my 11 year old son. But I got a NO! I kind of questioned her like really. She yelled over to a guy at a desk across the floor asking him for additional assistance. He walks over and says yeah because your son isnt 18 he cant use that pass... Im like what??!!! He guy says I have to pay a sign up fee, 1st and last months fees if he wants to come. So I explain again that he is my son, hes 11 and never been to the gym. He runs cross county in school and I just want him to try it with me for a day to see if he likes it. Both the girl at the counter and the guy said ya sorry but no hell need to sign up for a membership. Wow!!! LA Finess you need to seriously reevaluate your business mission. Im a member, try to cater to me just a little. You offer a service that is easily replaceable. Dont you want a young athlete in your gym 1st. You might be able to keep him for life. Isnt your mission to invite people into your gym. Get them hyped up on the features and benefits you offer them close me on a membership for him? Maybe he has other buddies that will join. Come on, think big picture here. Its 1 free day, at zero cost to you when his dad is already a member. Pathetic experience. Ill be in tomorrow to cancel my membership. Ill take my business across the freeway to Smart gym. Better hours, lower monthly fees, better customer service. *Note- This gym always looks empty. With this level of customer service we know why. Im confident theyll be out of business in no time. ****BUYER BEWARE**** Unhappy member

To whom it may concern, First I would like to say that it’s always fun and enjoyment to work out at the newly renovated LA Fitness club located on 91st and Northern. I have read some of the reviews for this location and with personal experience it’s really hard to believe that they are complaining. First I will state that the general Manager is extremely friendly. I have read all the reviews for this location and due to the seriousness of the complaints in other reviews that I thought I would set the record correct. I first would really like to attempt to identity some of the members who have written such UN-true reviews for the 91st and northern location… Who are you? …The general manager is very skilled and professional with the experience plus patience and understanding to efficiently manage and to run a gym. I am confident that every potential new member will be pleased with the general manager. His skills and experience portrayed in his sales approach is outstanding. The general manager (Gambino) will go far and beyond to go out of his way to always say hello and walk around the gym to get to know others. As I look at it every sales opportunity is a potential new sales, you are selling your organizations image and goodwill. Gambino will first identify the characteristics of his potential new member and geographically will tell the new member what’s the best gym that he or she should go to. That was the approach he used for me and my wife. Wow…. I was sold… Thank you for one of the best LA Fitness club’s to work out in. I hope I have set the record straight for all. Sincerely, Tiger

I like this location. It is right by my house so this is my main location. I dont care for the manager because I brought my friend in because she was interested in switching over gyms and I was looking forward to working out with her but when the manager stopped to talk to her he was degrading her gym that she goes to and gave no benefits about l.a. I have been in sales for 7 years and even trying to get someone over to your business you dont bash other businesses you talk highly about yours. Also on thr previous customers comment i go to the gym 6x a week and ive gone there for 2 years and not once has a manager come around to see how i was doing. But Anyways it is usually always clean there is always a girl cleaning which is nice. All machines work nicely. Some of the girls in the front are nice. It annoys me when they dont make eye contact or talk when youre walking in. Like all you do is scan keys in so maybe your customer service should be a little better. It has its ups and downs. If you just go to work out and leave then youre good to go.

The manager there is horrible. Worst sales person ever. Wouldnt let us pick the plan we wanted, forced my wife to try out a few machines in her work clothes when she told him she didnt want to, refused to talk to me to the point he stood infont of me blocking me from my wife. The manager even had the guts to make a comment about my wifes breasts. The manager is racist, he started talking to my wife in Spanish and she doesnt even know Spanish he kept telling me that "we"(my wife who is Hispanic and other Hispanics(including the manager)) have a saying in their culture. My wife was so offended she just looked at me like "wow" she was speechless. He called my wife pregnant when she isnt, When I told him we werent going to sign he got mad and tried to stop us from walking out. Finally the guy was caught in 6 lies throughout our hellish visit. Worst racist, judgemental, demeaning experience ever. I hope he gets fired.

This location is closest to my house so this is where I signed up after the sales rep wouldnt take no for an answer. The hours suck. I work 14 hr days so when I get off work Im too tired to work out and after I wake up this location is closed or closing soon. With what they charge you would think they could be open 24 hrs. So far Im not thrilled with my membership. When talkinf to the sales rep he said the club was all inclusive and made it sound like the trainers were included in the price so someone could show me what the machines do and how to use them but as it turns out if you want help it will cost you like $200 a month. This kind of stuff is why I havent had a gym membership since 1993. How are you going to keep a new guy interested if no one will show him what machines work on what muscles and how to use them?
