A vehicle had struck the left rear bumper panel of my car in a parking lot. In terms of damage, it was rather minimal. A relative of mine who had worked with the Auto Body Craftsmen Association suggested I take my car to Raintree. He said they have a great reputation and will not roll over for the insurance companies, they will repair my vehicle to its pre-loss condition and not cut corners. "Perfect" I thought, so I called and scheduled an appointment for an estimate on a Saturday. Here is the summary of my experience: 1. Dont bother scheduling an "appointment" for an estimate, I had one and still had to wait 45 min for 4 walk-ins to get estimates before I was helped. 2. My car should have taken 5 days to be repaired, instead it took 24 days. In 6/24 out 7/17. They said it took so long because they tried to replace my rear bumper with a used one and it looked bad so they had to order a new bumper. They wanted to put used parts on my car? 24 days for a $2,500 job? Really?? 3. I filled my truck with gas on 6/22 which was a Saturday. Sunday I drove to the gym and back, Monday first thing I drove from Cave Creek and the 101 to Raintree Auto Body. I drove a total of 18.5 miles on the full tank. When I picked up my car, the fuel door was open. I saw Adam from Raintree close it as we walked around the car and it would not stay closed. When I got in my car, the seat and mirrors were all out of position. My fuel gage showed I had 2/3rds of a tank of gas. My trip odometer showed read 81 miles. I dropped the truck off at 18.5 miles. Somehow my trucks odometer added 61.5 miles. I filled the truck up with gas once I drove to work. To clarify, I run a national transportation and logistics company. I an very conscious of gas mileage and fuel efficiency, its a big part of my business. In addition to the miles and fuel burned driving my car the 60 miles, my truck also had 4.5 gallons of fuel syphoned from the gas tank. Which is why my fuel door was damaged, but was an easy repair. I lead an active life and keep the back seats of my SUV down, I have golf shoes, gym bags, etc back there. When I looked in the back seat, all of my items were thrown in the far back of the truck and the seats were all folded up to allow for maximum seating. There was some garbage on the floor. It appears my car was used to transport enough people the back seat was needed to be used. So, my car had relatively little damage that should have taken maybe 5 days to repair. It took 24 days. My car was returned to me with a damaged fuel door, 4.5 gallons of gas removed from the tank, and driven 60 miles (and any fuel for that used as well). My car was used to transport at a minimum 3 people, likely more since they raised up the middle seat partition of the back seat which was down. One could possibly conclude my vehicle was used to "take the gang to lunch" everyday. 4-5 people driving around in my truck and then stealing the gas is disturbing. Either Raintree left my car completely unprotected with the keys in it and thieves used my car and stole my gas, or they have employees who take liberties with their customers vehicles that are in for repairs. There are some items missing that I forgot to remove as well. I have decided to subscribe to a service to protect me from identity theft as a result. If you are considering this shop, beware.

This is the second time I have taken a car to get body work done. I have to say that I think they did a good job of doing the body work but I am disappointed in how they handled themselves after the fact. When they told me my car was done I came and picked it up and I noticed on the way home that the rubber trim where the door and the windows meet was torn out is several places. Once I got home I inspected it to find that definitely something had happened because on every door the trim had be torn or ripped in several places. I thought it must be from where they had put tape down when they painted the car and when they pulled it off it caused the damage. I called and spoke with someone who was super nice and said that she would have a manager call me back around 10am because they were not in the shop yet, this was on a Friday. I never got a call so I called back Monday morning and was told I should text the person I was working with there to inform them of what was going on. I texted them and also sent a video I took the day I brought my car home. I got a text back saying that they were dry rotting belt moldings and that they had marked those as prior damage but they could give me a quote to fix them. I let the person know that some of them had been cracked prior to dropping the car off but not ripped and torn out like they were. She said that we would speak to her manager the next day and get back to me. Well that was almost 15 days ago. Long story short, make sure you take pictures of your car when you drop it off so that in case there is something wrong with it you have proof. There is nothing I can do to say that they caused the damaged because on their end they are saying they marked it as already there. I am not trying to get something for nothing and just frustrated this was what my experience was. I used to recommend this place to a lot of people or anyone who I knew needed body work, however after this, it is not something I will be able to do.

Raintree did an outstanding job taking care of us and repairing our 2011 Mercedes C-300 after it was rear-ended in Scottsdale while we were on vacation from out of state. We decided on Raintree after the manager of our hometown Mercedes dealership’s repair facility, at our request, reviewed Raintree’s certifications, talked with Bob Casper of Raintree, and then assured us that Raintree worked to the same high standards our hometown Mercedes dealer’s repair facility did. We left our car with Raintree, finished our vacation, and returned home. Bob Casper kept us informed on the repair progress and notified us several days before our car was to be finished. When we returned to Scottsdale to pick up the car, it was ready and the repair looked great to us. Thank you, Raintree! Because we are not experts in car repair, we had our hometown Mercedes dealership’s repair facility manager do a detailed “post repair inspection” for us. A couple of minor issues that took an expert to recognize were found which Raintree willingly paid to have corrected at our hometown Mercedes dealership’s repair facility. That really shows that Raintree stands squarely behind their work! We want to especially thank Bob Casper our contact at Raintree and Sandra at the front desk for the great way we were treated during our visits to Raintree as well as our follow up phone conversations. We highly recommend Raintree Auto Body without a single reservation.
