Though a little pricey compared to other storage units in the area, the Extra Space Storage in Castro Valley, CA, has been a great way to store my stuff since I moved from a house to another house, then to an apartment, down-sizing each time. I had been a customer of 5A Rentaspace, Extra Spaces precursor, at another location, & there was one right across the street from my apartment. Such convenience. This facility was very clean, temperature-controlled, & the staff professional & helpful. It has served my storage units purposes for almost 4 years now, as I continue to downsize my belongings to fit my current living environment. There was little change when the facilty went from 5A to Extra Space, other than the name change, perhaps a slight improvement in the quality. Facility is very secure, feels super safe. The facility has been more than adequate for all my storage needs, boxes, packing supplies, etc., as well as the units themselves (I have 2 at this facility). The facility has exceeded all my expectations.

The door code is easy to remember. They have decently secure yet inexpensive disc locks available for purchase. The facility saves energy and has motion-activated lighting. The sensors work well. My 7x7 unit is pretty large and tall. Everything inside works. I can exit the facility after the closing time, which can be important when losing track o time while rummaging through things. :) The staff was kind enough to let me ship my skis directly to the facility via USPS. Note that they wont sign for FedEx or UPS, to the best of my knowledge.

Absolutely the best storage place my husband and I have came across. They facility is not only convenient but also extremely clean, also the personnel is reliable. Shawna was great at helping us when we were in a rush and extreme need of a storage unit ASAP. We called several places in the area and extra space storage gave us the best rate available for the size and location we were looking. Thanks Shawna! we will definitely keep you guys in mind next time we need a storage unit.

The unit is clean, safe and they made sure that it was the perfect size for what we needed. I stored here for a year and was a rotally satisfied customer. When I needed storage again, I went looking for a bargain at other facilities. What I found elsewhere was a nightmare - shabby, dirty, hot, infested, questionable security, limited access and higher prices. I came back to Castro Valley ExtraSpace Storage where I know the great staff (Shawna), trust the onsite team, love the clean, climate controlled and secure facility.

It is by far the cleanest, best maintained, most comfortable facility I encountered. Even the movers commented on what a good looking place it was. Came in to pick up moving supplies and was greeted by Reese who was SUPER pleasant and very helpful. Her positive attitude really made it nice just to step in and buy boxes. On top of that, they brought the moving pack to my car and for an exchange of 10 mins, it was great way to start my day of errands. Moving is stressful enough. Good people make it a little bit easier.

Received confirmation of reservation by the representative at the location of your choice. Location is kept in pristine condition environment controlled atmosphere in each unit and secured by gates doors elevators. Service with a smile

Rickiea was very helpful during the process of getting my storage space. The office was clean and the property is very spacious. I might need a bigger unit later so Im definitely going to stay at Extra Space. I went down to Grove Storage and Public Storage down on the other side of the freeway but it wasnt as pleasant until I got to Extra Space. Thanks again!

Within a about 15 minutes of booking online, I received a confirmation call from Extra Space Storage. They seemed very profesional and thanked me for choosing them over the many other options in the area. I was assured they would take great care of me. The units are clean and the property is well kept. I definitely recommend this business to anyone in the area!

I cant explain in words what a great experience I have had while being a customer at Extra Space Storage at 3939 Castro Valley Blvd. in Castro Valley. The Staff are awesome . For all of my storage needs, I wouldnt go anywhere else . If you are looking for a safe ,clean ,convenient, and economical Storage facility . This is the place I would recommend .

Hi, id like to leave a review because this place has exceptional service. I was helped by Jojo Cansino and had a great experience. Its just a storage facility but they have better customer service than my bank lol. Id recommend this location at 3939 castro valley blvd because of the cleanliness, organization, convenience and friendly service.

Fast and great service here! I called the 800 number this morning and was able to schedule a 3pm appointment with Shawna for today. The process was quick and easy to rent a storage unit. The best part was how Shawna gave small tasks to our daughter so she felt included and didnt get board. Cant wait to load up our unit! Thanks again!

Jojo was super helpful and the rates were great! So easy getting in and out. The customer service is way better than other storage facilities Ive used. If I ever had a question they always were happy to answer everything. If I ever need a unit again I am DEFINITELY coming back here!

This location is easy to get to (even has its own stop light at the entrance driveway), well lit, very secure, and maintained well. The only reason I left is because I moved out of state and sold all my stuff! If youre looking for a great storage experience, this is the place to go.
