I didnt have a ride to work when I dropped my car off for repairs here this morning. So Im sitting in the lobby while they work on my car. While waiting Ive witnessed the true integrity and character of the owner, and his employees that shines through in all they do. From the very moment I arrived I was treated with respect even while making noises that were similar to that of my car engine. Larry then sent a technician on a ride along to help diagnose the problem. We chatted about homes, family, and cars while Jeremy listened for the issue. When I returned to the lobby the owner was incredibly present with each of the several individuals who came to him for help with their cars. I was in awe of how relational he was while managing a business, a team, and diagnosing their technical problems. As I was just using their wifi, and drinking a free coffee from their Keurig I heard one of the employees kids run in saying, "Hi, daddy". They greeted their daughter warmly and gave them a job while continuing to work on their task at hand. Somehow theyve been able to incorporate their family, their expertise, and the customers into one vision. Ive been coming here for several years for repairs and have been consistently pleased with how well their care for my car and am always impressed with the reasonable cost. Today, I am overwhelmed with the integrity, customer service, respect, and family they offer to all people as they repair cars with excellence. Come here for great repairs, a great experience, and great service at a great price.

Retail and service establishments take note. When it comes to customer service, following through on commitments, going the extra mile, providing top notch service and creating loyalty, Shannon Family Auto are the masters. Larry is an exceptional professional. Not only does he complete your vehicle on time, he also does extra little things and doesnt charge you for them. Guys like Larry Shannon built America and made it what it is today, by putting customers FIRST and treating them like old friends the moment they walk in the door. I cannot say enough good things about Larry and Shannon Family Auto. I will be a customer for life. Based on positive Google and Yelp reviews, I decided to use Shannon for work on my Tacoma. I normally do my own repairs and maintenance, but some tasks are beyond my expertise. I couldnt be happier. Ive been looking for a competent and honest mechanic since we moved to Folsom about 3 years ago, and Ive found one. Ill stick with Larry for anything that I cant handle for my truck and my wifes Lexus. When I dropped the truck off, I was given a very professional-looking, complete, computer-printed estimate. They came in UNDER THE ESTIMATE, for a fairly complex 2-day job. In addition, I asked Larry to check a noise I thought was coming from the power steering pump, just to diagnose and not repair. I figured Id do the repair myself and save some money. Well, he found the problem, and fixed it, AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE (repair was not trivial). My truck was ready before I expected. BTW, they have moved to the next-door building and now have twice the space. Address has also slightly changed to 1143 Sibley.

Shannon Family Automotive is honest and has fantastic service! I took my 2001 civic to Folsom Lake Honda because my heater stopped blowing hot and there was a rattle in my engine. I was quoted $3000 for a blown head gasket, leaking water pump, spark plugs, etc., and they suggested the rattle was possibly an axle. The dealership was asking how much money I really wanted to put into my old car and the technician was interested in buying it if I wanted to sell. Something about that didnt feel right, so I decided to look for another mechanic. After reading such great reviews online about Shannon Family Automotive, I brought my car in for a second opinion and they discovered that my head gasket was fine, the problem was that the tube from my radiator to my overflow tank was disconnected. They also discovered that the rattle was a loose bolt on my alternator. They took care of the maintenance work that needed done and had my car running great again for $790! Im now a devoted customer!

I started using Shannon Family Automotive about 3 or 4 years ago after struggling through bad experiences with 3 or 4 other local mechanics in the area. I know enough about auto repair to have a sense when "issues" are being trumped up more than necessary. Shannon ALWAYS does a thorough inspection of the car when I bring it in for service and lets me know of things to put on the radar or to fix, but I have always found them to be practical in their advice and timing suggestions. Just seem to be good, honest, ethical people. Parts are sometime a little high in terms of mark-up, but I also know their pretty careful to buy OEM parts or at least very high quality aftermarket parts. I check prices on parts for reference, but considering the level of confidence I have in Shannons work, and trust in their ethics, I usually allow a bit of a premium for that. I use them for our 2005 Acura TSX and my daughters 2011 Honda Civic.

So, I went and bought this crappy used car. You know, got all excited and quit thinking. DOH! Car needed lots of work, found this place. They did some initial work, all for a reasonable rate. Car had more problems, lots more. They helped me sort through it all and only charged me a fraction. I cant even express how refreshing this experience was. They genuinely tried to help me, even to their own detriment. It was a very good Experience. Larry and Robert are excellent. Im not a mechanic so I cant really speak as to how knowledgable they are or how good their work is, but by what I do know, I am very very pleased. I would recommend this place to any dealership. They specialize in Hondas and Toyotas. I would bring yours there. And if you go to buy a used one, bring it to them FIRST. Great shop.

OUTSTANDING service. Were new to the area, and found Larry & Shannon Family Automotive via Yelp & Google reviews. Larry performed a thorough service on our 2001 Toyota Landcruiser: everything from the basic oil change & changing out belts, a sparkplug or two (I think) & some brake work (all which wed been expecting to have to do from our former mechanics advice). Not only did he have the vehicle done in a day, but early. Its now purring nicely. Larry also took the time to show me some interesting (though basic) engine components Id never examined before. Both my husband and I are extremely impressed. Larrys shop is immaculate, and the care he takes with vehicles is obvious. Its worth the drive from south of Hwy 50 in EDH.

Doing business with Larry Shannon and his expert team is a great experience! Larry is a "car guy" who is personable, honest, knowledgeable, customer-service oriented, and stands behind his shops work with a 2-year and 24,000 mile warranty (not common in this industry). I highly recommend Shannon Family Automotive to all folks looking for a high-quality, local auto repair shop, just an oil change service, or a second opinion on repair work recommended by others.
