I have had some very valuable things stored here for approximately 5 years. Last year I tried to get into my storage locker to remove some of the items and the lock was jammed. I did not think much about it since it was an old lock. I had the office cut off the old lock and sell me a new lock from their office. I visited the storage locker about 6 months later and noticed a few items were gone but not sure of which ones. I informed my husband his Lionel train set form 1955 was in there and we should go and get it. About 3 months later, we went to remove all items from the locker and it was not there, but the cardboard cover was left behind! I noticed a few big plastic lids but not the containers that went with the lids. The thieves had removed my wall hangings from Egypt, my ottoman from Turkey and several other valuables. When I approached the young "arrogant" manager ( who is in the habit of lying) he said they had cameras and nobody would steal and i was the only one who had the keys. He tried to say my 25-year old son had stolen the stuff???? He was so full full of s--- and keep calling us to try to "solve" it but unwilling to give us any money. I plan to sue the company in small claims court. Several other tenants there said they had things stolen as well. DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE LOCKER if you plan to get your stuff back.

Ive been in the book business in the Bay Area for 35 years, and during that time Ive used many storage facilities, that is until I discovered Payless about eight years ago. They get five stars for price, five stars for cleanliness and safety, and five stars for incredibly courteous and helpful staff. Its a full service place, right off the freeway, not scary like a lot of other places that Ive used, and they have a really great mover there, Dave Franks, (by appointment), who can do any move from helping you in and out of your storage unit to big long distance moves. Overall what really makes this place for me is the staff, how they keep the place running so professionally, Im grateful.

storage units are great, facility is safe and clean and prices are not the lowest but not the highest either. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the people ARE IN THE WORST MOODS EVERY DAY! IT GETS OLD. They will let you use their truck for a day but if you are one minute late returning it (even though they dont need it) they have a fit. You are on camera 24/7 and they sit there and watch your business, then complain if you have taken too long to do what you need to do without bothering anyone. If the people dont like their jobs, they should find new ones so this awesome storage facility can do more business and be a more pleasant place to go.

The best storage ever. The people are professional and accommodating for whatever your situation is. Shale who manages the business should receive 10 stars. He has helped me deal with a difficult situation which is now resolved. Doesnt get any better then Payless Storage.

True they arent in Marin, but they were about a 5 minute drive (second exit from bridge). Prices were much lower than any others and I felt they were safer and cleaner than any other place. Great service also!!!! Id store my stuff there again.

my apartment recently caught fire and i had to move all of my stuff into a temporary storage unit until i can find a new place, they offered a lot of extra support that will help a lot

They are in Richmond, across the $5 toll bridge. Dont know anything else about them, other than this is incorrectly listing them as in San Rafael.
