My experience with Extra Space Storage has been exceptional from the very beginning. Their website is very clear, very user-friendly, and with no hidden policies. After reading reviews of Extra Space and Public Storage, the clear winner was Extra Space. Once we got there we were impressed with the cleanliness, security, and professional and friendly service of the staff. Mark, the facility manager, kindly took us around to look at a few options and upon my selection, promptly assisted with the paperwork, pointed out the fleet of carts and gladly offered the free use of the moving truck. Moving my items in went as smoothly as one could possibly hope for. After a couple of months, I decided to move my items into a storage in Burlingame that was less expensive. After explaining this to Mark, he politely asked if he could show me a slightly smaller unit that was less expensive and just a few units down from where my current unit was. After seeing that unit and another one on the ground level, I decided to stay. I was impressed that he was well-informed of the units and their prices. My decision to stay with Extra Storage was made primarily on his knowledge of the facility and excellent customer service. I dont normally take the time to provide reviews but it would be unjust to this excellent facility and its staff if I didnt. All the positive reviews you read about Extra Storage are true. This is how all businesses should be run!

Weve had the need to use storage facilities for business and personal needs over the last decade and the experience has been mixed. We are extremely satisfied with both the facilities and the service at EXTRA SPACE STORAGE. The place is very clean and well managed. From day one, Mathias and his team have provided excellent support and a willingness to "go the extra mile" when necessary. The most recent example is that we were expecting a delivery of two pallets of materials for an event the next day. The freight company told us to be available between noon and 4:00 p.m and that they would call us one hour before delivery. (We work just 10 minutes away.) We were in meetings all morning with phones off and at 11:45 picked up a message the trucker left at 10:30 a.m. saying he was pulling around the corner NOW. We zoomed across town from the client site and arrived to find that not only had Mathias received the shipment for us, he put it in our unit! That, folks, is exceptional service. No storage facility has ever done that for us! (Let us again say: "Thank you, Mathias, for saving our butts! The Paulaner is coming!") In addition to the extraordinary, the day-to-day is pretty great too. The facility is clean, easy to use and very conveniently located. We are extremely pleased with EXTRA SPACE STORAGE and plan to have a "home" there for our business for the foreseeable future.

Frank assisted me with the viewing of the unit and with correcting my double reservation for a 4 x 4 unit here. He was patient, very knowledgeable and informative as to the online reservation process, especially in relation to conflicting and multiple accidental reservations. Thank you :) Freeway access ideal for those in vehicles, easy to locate with elaborate and very large signage. Access hours are also staffed hours so degree of and comfort that property is secure is met. Locking mechanisms are shabby and meager at best on smaller door units. Refer to pictures. Roll up door units have comparable locking mechanisms to other facilities and if locked properly are sufficient. Cameras are visible throughout as well as monitors in the main office. Bummer: Would like earlier access hours, 6am would work well depending on what is stored and when may need to access (8a-7p most days at this location) as is the case for me. Overall, I feel given what I am storing, in relation to the locking mechanisms, Im more pleased with the other measures of security provided and would recommend this Extra Space Storage facility.

We just got done putting our stuff in storage today. After dealing with movers from hell! Mike was working the front desk this morning and was amazing! We told him the movers had a 17 ft truck and could he block off the front for us and he totally got up and put cones out to block off the st for the movers. This helped cut another cost from the worst movers ever. We went up to see the storage that we had on hold and realized it may not work so he moved us into another unit that worked perfectly. He offered to get us carts to use and anything else that we needed. The freight elevator is HUGE! They could easily rent that out for 3k a month in rent in the city ha ha. Over all Mike made this whole experience amazing! He knew we were not happy and he totally made this morning great! Also we mentioned to him that the movers broke stuff and he reminded us that our insurance should also cover some of it. If it wasnt for him we would probably have to pay another 2,000 just to reschedule the movers and have them take a smaller shuttle into the city. Seriously Mike thank you!

Although I am not currently renting a space from Extra Space Storage, I felt compelled to give some feedback on my experience there. I had heard it has a unique approach to self-storage, and wanted to take a look. The facilities are very well kept. I have seen many storage companies who still have nails and duct tape peeling from the floors. The staff is so helpful. They assist you and address your needs at your pace. I felt both heard and respected, which is vital during a stressful event like a move. They are very professional. Their facilities were safe, orderly, well lit, and even tastefully decorated with a collection of flags from all countries. It had good vibes. The renters and the staff make up a community of sorts. Everyone showing respect and courtesy. I felt very welcome there. The prices are fair and the location is great. With the place being so organized and the staff so helpful, I couldn’t think of a better situation. Extra Space Storage is definitely my first choice.

The staff is helpful, and this place has an amazing 4.9 stars (they heavily solicit the customers to write a review so I guess thats why). But my experience with Extra Space Storage has been rather disappointing. The security measures are mediocre at best. The doors are plywood, and the unit I rented didnt have an actual ceiling, instead it had a metal wireframe. The video surveillance does not cover all of the units. A considerable part of the customers are homeless, and some even have mental health or drug problems. All of this combined makes it for a rather risky place to store valuables. The representative who helped me admitted that there have been two burglaries in the last three months. It was my fault for renting the unit here in the first place, despite major red flags. But it still doesnt make sense that I cant get a refund next day if I dont actually use the place even once. Sorry it didnt work out.

I was Looking for a storage space,and I wanted to read reviews to find out what other people experiences were. Unfortunately extra space has obviously contracted someone to write reviews for them. Dozens of reviews that go on and on about the helpful staff casually calling them by their first name:Frank, Mike, Charlene, etc. obviously attempting to establish themselves as a down-home friendly place to do buisness. While this might be believable if it was a couple of reviews, but close to a hundred of them, all saying virtually the same thing. Obviously written by the same person and obviously a fraud! I wonder how much you can trust a corporation that goes to Such Great Lengths the hustle their potential customers, is afraid to let us see and seeks to prevent customers from seeing actual reviews. I am leary of Any business afraid to stand on their own merrits
