I had more than one terrible experience at this Pep Boys and I plan to write a letter to management regarding this issue today. This store needs to work on their communication skills. I was in there late December to buy and install 4 new tires. I was told the tires were in stock. I was waiting there that day for the installation. About an hour after my appointment time, I went to check on the car and I was told that the tires werent in stock and someone was driving to another store to get them. That was nice and all, but why didnt they just call me when they learned the tires were out of stock? I couldve easily selected another model. Finally after waiting another few hours the car was done. They were nice to remove $60 off the alignment charge which I assume was to make up for the wait. When I left the store I noticed my TPMS light was still on. I promptly called Pep Boys and was told to drive at least 40 miles to see if it goes off. It never did so I called Pep Boys again. I was told to bring the car back and I didnt need to make an appointment. After calling to get in a few times and having been told they were busy I finally made an appointment for Monday 2/2 at 5:30. I arrived to my appointment 15 minutes early and was told very matter of fact-ly that they couldnt take me for at least an hour because 2 techs didnt show up that day. Why did someone at Pep Boys not bother to call me to tell me that before I came in? Apparently my time does not matter to them. The manager came out to look at my tires. He let me know that there is not a safety issue but my tires were over-inflated and that I would need to make an appointment to check the TPMS sensor. Was that not the purpose of the appointment I made and showed up on time for 2/2? Pep Boys is the one that over-inflated the tires in the first place. They were brand new tires that I bought last month and had never put air in them since. I will NOT be returning to Pep Boys ever again, or even to get this sensor fixed which is supposed to be included in the new tire package. I went to Pep Boys for the convenience of being open on a Sunday, which my car dealer service center is not. What was supposed to be a more convenient experience has ended up being more of a headache. I will NEVER be returning to Pep Boys for anything in the future.

I brought my jeep to pep boys to do an oil change and a tire rotation. I was told Shawn the service center manager that it would be about 45 minutes. I thought that was fine. Before I left my keys with Shawn I told him that I had wheel locks and that the key for them is in the back left of the cargo bay. I was fortunate to watch the mechanic work on my Jeep via the window in the waiting room. I watched him place the jeep on the lift, put it in the Air to drain the oil. I watched him place the drain plug back in the oil pan. The mechanic then lowered the Jeep all the way to the floor. I was thinking to myself, maybe he is going to finish the oil change and then do the tire rotation. I continued to watch through the glass, only breaking away for a bathroom for a few minutes. The mechanic finished the oil change and then proceeded to top off all fluids that he could see. He then backed the Jeep out of the bay and parked it in the lot. I was collecting my keys from Alex and getting the final invoice, I asked Alex if the tires were rotated. His response, "Yes, I remember Shawn telling the mechanic that the wheel locks were in the cargo bay." After I got home I noticed the rim that I dinged on my passenger side front tire was still in the same location on the Jeep. I called Pep Boys and Alex picked up the phone. I told him that there was no rotation of the tires done. He asked the mechanic, the mechanic stated to Alex which I over heard on the phone that he had rotated the tires. I then got very mad with Alex because he started to defend the mechanic. I asked if Shawn was there, Shawn had left for the night. Alex then said that I could bring the Jeep by and they would rotate the tire as long as I made an appointment. Im beyond mad at this shop, why should I trust them to work on my Jeep again. And oh the kicker to the whole story they didnt even make 45 minutes quoted to me for the oil change and tire rotation, I was waiting for an hour and ten minutes. They couldnt even make the 30 minute guarantee for an oil change let alone the time that Shawn gave me. Half of the work done, took twice as long. Fast forward a week, I called today asking for Shawn again I was on hold for 15 minutes; totally unacceptable.

I used Pep Boys for the first time following the recent snowstorm. I slid on some ice and hit a curb hard, bending my tie rod on my right wheel. Had to get new tires anyways, so I took it in to Pep Boys on Alameda. I had read the reviews ahead of time, and was unsure about what kind of experience I would get. I figured I would try them out and see. Victor was the customer service agent that worked with me. From the beginning of the day, Victor was in touch about my car, about the services needed, and the costs associated with it. He made great suggestions about ways to save me money. I know a fair bit about my car, so I know when Im being taken advantage of...and Victor was an honest broker. I really appreciated his ability to communicate with me. It was a busy day, due to the recent snow storm. Several cars were ahead of me in line for services, but they managed to get everything done in one day. Oil change, tune up, new tires and alignment, and a repair of my tie rod. Granted, no one wants to spend money on their car for repairs after a snow storm, but at least this shop made it relatively painless. Also, the location is very convenient - I dropped my car off in the morning and took the light rail to work downtown, and returned that evening to a fixed car. Spoke to the manager briefly about the reviews online. Many of the bad reviews were from several months ago... I think hes trying his best to improve customer service at this location. Its never fun to deal with car repairs, but Victor and Pep Boys did a great job. Ill come back to Pep Boys on Alameda.

I took my car to pep boys because my windshield wipers would not work because I didn’t clear the ice off my windshield before turning on the wipers. Pep Boys told me that it could be a plastic piece that broke off or the motor would need to be replaced, I was advised there would be a $45 charge to check to see what the problem was and if the motor needed to be replaced it would be $200.00 plus $45.00. After checking my wiper motor by just looking at with a flashlight I was told they would have to take the motor and transmission out to see if the plastic could be replaced, I was quoted another $116.00 to take the motor out and replace the broken piece. The whole time I am watching them through the window of the waiting room and they did nothing but look at it, never tried to fix anything. I was then advised they couldn’t fix the broken piece and they would need to replace the wiper transmission, adding another $186.00 for the part and the total cost for the repair would be $396.00. They ordered the part but when they received it, it was the wrong part. I was told they would order the correct part from the dealer and it would be in on Monday or Tuesday, I took it in on a Saturday. I didn’t hear from them on Monday so I took my car to another auto repair shop and all it needed was a wiper arm that cost $10.72, the total repair was $100.06. I was at Pep Boys for 5 hours and 15 minutes. I never heard from Pep Boys stating that the part was in. They are a total RIP OFF. Pep Boys located at 12820 E Mississippi Avenue, Aurora CO 80012
