Not sure where to begin on this one. I was excited when the new ownership took over and since we have a business a mere hundred yards or so away we took all our vehicles personal and business there first, for repairs, oil changes, etc. Recently I inquired by phone about dropping off a personal vehicle to have some codes checked and was told "no problem" we can do that. I went to drop it off and Patrick (the mgr / owners son) who was the same person that told me "no problem" proceeded to inform me that the only place I could go was the dealership for something like that. Well I knew better than that but wasnt going to argue with them and just assumed they were swamped and didnt need the work. No problem....i get it just be straight with me next time but I didnt hold a grudge. I just took it to another shop that came recommended by a friend. Recently I dropped off the same vehicle to Midas because they are so convenient for us and thought wed give them the benefit of the doubt from the last time. We ended up paying over $500 for a door latch to be installed and then was informed that since dropping it off the window regulator doesnt work now and thats another few hundred in parts plus labor. I knew something wasnt right so I just had them button it up. Upon my wife calling to get a little deeper into this issue with them, they werent interested in an explanation only defensive. Patrick proceeded to visit my place of business and make wild claims of statements made by my wife over the phone (which I knew werent accurate or Ive been living with someone else for 20 years). While in my place of business Patrick snapped and continued to yell when asked to leave he lingered and kept making snide comments about my business (funny Ive never seen him in my store before, and am quite sure he isnt a customer). Finally I demanded he leave at which time he completely lost it and was yelling in the parking lot as loud as he could making attempts to be sarcastic about my business (which has zero to do with vehicles or auto repair). I was willing to accept a probability that perhaps our window did happen to break at no fault of theirs while in the shop but then when confronted with Patricks absolute lack of ability to handle any level of objection or attempt to resolve this coupled with his aggressive and odd interaction in my place of business Im more sure than ever that we werent being given a straight story. I doubt theyll notice but I can tell you well be taking our 4 vehicles elsewhere from now on.

I went in for an oil change and courtesy check, which was done fairly quickly and well. They brought me my dirty air filter and asked to replace it. I agreed. At the end of it all, they told me they filled my washer fluid, stapled my paperwork together in the middle (really? Its kind of hard to read the evaluation of the courtesy check when something is stapled on top of it), and sent me on my way. I looked at the courtesy check at home, and found several things had been marked "may need to be serviced in the future." None of this had been brought to my attention or explained what that meant or how far "in the future" the parts would need to be serviced. In every other Midas shop, someone has taken the time to explain the check to me, explain what they found, and when it would likely need to be looked at. Here, I feel like they just want to get you in and out as fast as possible. Not a good way to get repeat business. As a side note, I closed all the compartments in my car (one over my cup holders and one beneath my CD player in the dash), and I wasnt happy to find that theyd been opened up, as there was nothing in those compartments that the mechanics needed to get to or look at. Doesnt make me feel comfortable knowing these people are going through my stuff.

I took my car here cause it was not running correctly, turns out the spark plugs needed to be replaced. At the same time they told my rear shocks needed to be replaced as well, which they did so I had them do those at the same time. When they called me to tell me everything that needed to be fixed they quoted me a huge price with the breakdown, so I replied "I dont understand how changing the spark plugs takes cost $250, when it should take less than an hour to change." Well he talked to the manager, called me back and said they could do it for a $100 cheaper. I agreed, work was done then car worked fine for a couple of days then the fuel pump died (could be my own fault on that one since I ran it out of fuel a couple of times over the last 6 years). They gave me a free oil change card when I paid, so I took my car back later and it took the mechanic an hour and a half to do the change and fluids check. He was a new mechanic, but it does not take a certified mechanic this long to change oil! Just got my tires replaced on my car to find out when they changed the rear shocks, they lost a lug nut and didnt bother to put a replacement back on. Ridiculous!

I hate to be lied to by a business. Especially, one that claims to be family run/operated. I was told that this store would not perform a conventional oil change on my vehicle. This store stated that they would only perform a synthetic oil change(which cost much more). The supposed reason was that they could be held responsible for not following manufacturers recommendations. Seriously? They could simply write on the work order that the customer refused the recommendation. There are numerous times when a customer might not be able to afford "their" recommendation and have to resort to whatever they can afford... to drive to work the next day. Ive been to several Midas in Colorado for many years. I have never heard such BS before. I called the Midas in Firestone and asked them. "Will this be a problem to get a conventional oil change?" He said, "absolutely not." "We do what our customers want." That is the type of courtesy and attitude, that I appreciate. Spend your money elsewhere. This Midas doesnt deserve it!

update 11/18/10; after getting my complaint that corporate still hadnt responded Randy made it right and refunded my money. when they performed the courtesy check on my vehicle they didnt get the tire back on correctly and the tire almost fell off of the vehicle when I pulled out of the parking lot. I returned and they put the tire back on but a week later when I purchased tires from another store I was informed that they had cross threaded the bolts so badly that the stud had to be broken off and replaced to get the tire off. I spoke with Randy at the store and he said he would contact corp to see about refunding my money. more then a month went by with no contact before I called him back 11/4, and now I still havent heard anything back. He told me I should have brought the vehicle to him to fix, but they dont provide courtesy vehicles or rides, and I couldnt get back and forth from the other shop, nor could I take that much time off work. Incompetent, rude, and irresponsible.
