About 18 months ago, I had a new fabric (carriage/faux convertible) installed on my 1999 Cadillac Deville. I even agreed to an "upgraded" fabric that was recommended by a staff member at Sargent. In addition, I also purchased several bottles of 303 brand protectant spray from Sargent that they also recommend to keep my new top in good shape. I have maintained the top in complete accordance with their recommendations ever since the top was installed. Initially, I was very pleased with the product and service provided by Sargent and recommended them to several people. However, about a month ago, I noticed that the top is now showing dark spots that are appearing randomly all over the fabric and I have no idea why. The car has never been parked where leaves, pine needles, or any other debris would fall on it. Also, part of the front of the fabric at the center top of my windshield had started to curl up. I contacted Sargent a couple of weeks ago and explained my two issues and I was told to bring the car in today and they would fix the "rolling welt" and clean the top to see if they could correct the issue with the spotting. When I picked up the car this afternoon, they had fixed the "rolling welt", but now Im being told they dont know why its spotting or any recommendation for possible solution to remove the spots. And, they dont want to put any strong cleaner on it because they dont know what it will do to the fabric. Now Im at a loss to know what to do. I am now contacting the maker of the fabric to see if they have any recommendation since apparently Sargent considers eighteen months an acceptable duration for a $1,700 expense.

I brought my car in to replace the sunroof and ceiling liner in my car. Two service failures later, I have a hard time recommending Sargent to anyone. While they did fix (or attempt to fix) the problems there was no proactive customer service recovery attempts. I was not compensated for any of my inconvenience - no offer of discount to original payment, no offers for future service, etc. All that said, the repaired liner does look great. Just be leary if there are any residual issues. The technician who completed the work apparently "stored" the dismantled sunroof on the roof my car during installation causing significant scratches in the paint. I found the scratches while trying to help the technicians figure out why my electric windows were no longer working. It makes me wonder if Id have noticed the scratches if they had attached the driver door wiring harness correctly after the lining repair. They kept the car a few more days (and provided a rental for me) and had my car roof repainted at an auto body shop. When I got my car back and drove home (25 miles) on the interstate, I noticed very loud wind noise from the sunroof. I have never had wind noise from the sunroof. I returned to Sargents a few days later for them to repair the sunroof noise. They did the best they could and I left. I ended up having to get my regular mechanic to properly reset my sunroof to eliminate the wind noise.

Several months ago, my 2008 Mercedes 350 was serviced by this company for a full headliner replacement. It was in conjunction and part of a front windshield replacement warranty work. Although Sargent Seat cover Co. came highly recommended, Im disappointed with the workmanship that was performed. The material used is sub-par, not OE. The surface of the headliner has deep impressions, I was advised that it will smooth itself out, its not the case. The vanity light and rear view mirror was not installed correctly. I had to do it myself to correctly install it. Upon delivery, the interior had a lot of small cut materials from the headliner fabric. I tried to reach via email, but no response. Im disappointed because this company has over 73 years of experience with the same quality and excellence since day one, according to their company statement....I didnt experience that. Why 2 stars instead of 1? I do not hate it, but I definitely dislike the service performed. Nothing against the personnel, but who ever worked on my car did put enough care into it...Do I recommend this shop, absolutely not/NO. I gave ample can in trying to reach out via email to no avail. It not worth my time to pursue my concern.

I came in with a vehicle that had severe mold damage because water would leak in every time it rained. There was also oil on the carpet in the trunk area. Upon examining the vehicle, what looked like a supervisor with white hair and a mustache lifted up his hand and said in a disrespectful way, "Theres oil on this carpet." The service representative then asked him to drive my car to the other side of the building. He refused, looked at me, raised his hand, and said "I cant, I have oil on my hand." He then tells me to drive my car to the other side of the building. Every time I interacted with the employees of this company, I was treated with an incredulous attitude for the condition of the vehicle. The reason I brought it in was because it needed work. If it was perfect I wouldnt have brought it in in the first place. That is the point of an upholstery business: people who have interiors, that need work bring their car, suv, boat, or rv to have it repaired. My recommendation is that you steer clear from this organization for the way they treat their customers.

I had my 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit headliner done about a year ago. They assured me that after letting the fabric rest that the creases and bumps would not be visible. However a year later and it looks horrible. I also realized that they had not put the back quarter panels back in properly after installing. Lucky enough I had radio work done at best buy and they fixed that for me. I am not very impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. However this is just in my case and I have known others that have gone here and the work was amazing. I just wish they would have taken the time to do a good job on my headliner. If knowing what I know now. I would have just spent the few extra hundred bucks to have the dealer do it.

I like to do alot of my own work when it comes to my car but upholstery is too much of a POA for me. I hired Sargent to put in a seat heater that I purchased. From all the quotes I got they gave me a fair price and a quote in writing. When I picked up my car the price was actually less than quoted! The shop had a very professional atmosphere and every person I spoke to was extremely helpful. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for upholstery needs.

Just had the leather passenger seat panel (60/40 split) replaced on my F150 Lariat. PERFECT JOB done in 1 day. This is the 2nd panel replaced in this truck (Driver seat panel approximately 2 years ago). They do absolutely beautiful work and get it done when they say they will. They really care about the results. I am not connected to Sargents in any way but I really like their work. I take all my vehicle upholstery work there.
