Firestone Complete Auto Care in Kent, Oh is the poorest excuse of an auto "repair" shop I have ever encountered. I would highly discourage any one from taking their car to this establishment for repairs. THIS WEEK, I have had to take my car in on three separate occasions to "repair" a problems that FIRESTONE CREATED. On Friday, I paid well over $350 for a gas tank cleaning, a new spark plug, and some connection wires they said needed replaced. Upon receiving and starting my car Saturday, the check engine light was on, my cruise control was broken, and my car exhaust was now making an extremely LOUD noise. When I took it back Sunday morning, they took all day to tell me it was a faulty catalytic converter, a problem that caused a hole in the exhaust. They explained that I would need to check to see if the catalytic converter had a manufacturers warranty & then they can do something then they proceeded to give my car back unfixed. This is the strange part. THEY are the STORE in which I had the converter installed by 3 months prior to this incident. So, I took it back as soon as they opened Monday (today). So, today they call me back & quote me another $750 to fix the exhaust, that had a hole put in it due to the faulty catalytic converter THEY installed. ONCE AGAIN, Firestone returned my car unfixed. Only now it sounds and drives worse, has the check engine light on, and is unable to use the cruise function. The whole experience has been a nightmare & I would advise any individual needing anything but an oil change to stray far from this establishment. By far the most incompetent group of mechanics I have ever encountered.

I had a very good experience with this Firestone Service Center. At the end of a 450 mile trip from New York to visit friends in Stow, Ohio my temp gauge went to RED just at my highway exit (12 miles from my destination). I pulled in and found that Id thrown the fan belt, causing the radiator to overheat. Firestone arranged for a tow to their facility and upon inspection it was found that my water pump impeller (plastic) had disintegrated - causing the thrown fan belt and damaging the fan blades. Their service tech (Kyle) promptly informed me of these issues and the repairs necessary. In the end I got a new water pump (with a metal impeller), a new fan, two (2) new fan belts and new anti-freeze all done very professionally and at a reasonable price - within 6 hours. Ive since put 750 miles on the car (including returning the New York)with no issues. So, if you should ever find yourself stuck on the road, in the vicinity of Kent, Ohio, I would recommend this Firestone Service Center. Hugh

Long story short my check engine light was on and my car stalled and powered off on me while I was driving. Took it to firestone and they said nothing was wrong and the check engine light was a fluke. Instead they try to get me to buy 4 brand new tires when I didnt need them. A day after I pick my car up my check engine light came back on and my car stalls and powers off again while driving. Turns out there is a known issue with the Electronic Throttle Body in my car. Ford is going to fix it for free. Im convinced they didnt really look and try to diagnose the issue..i mean thats a pretty significant problem.. and if by some miracle they did realize the issue im sure they would have charged me an arm and a leg to "fix" it and still somehow find a way to make it worse. I feel cheated and scammed. Save yourself a headache and the stress and dont take your vehicle there.

Took 3 hours to get my oil changed. I scheduled ahead of time and was told it wont take any longer than an hour, because I had to be at work 2 1/2 hours after my appointment time. After the first hour someone came out and told me they didnt have all the correct tools for my car, so they just got them in and were starting the oil change. I was a little irritated because I had made an appointment ahead of time and they knew what model of car I have, but figured it wouldnt be much longer and passed it off as a small mistake. I sat there for 2 more hours without knowing what was going on. Then when it was finished they told me something was wrong with my car and wanted to work on it right then. They did give me a quote that seemed decently priced though. But I was already late for work and didnt want to waste my whole day there.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!!! THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CAR, AND THEN TRY TO CHARGE YOU FOR THE REPAIRS!!!! I took my car in for a routine wheel alignment, and when I retrieved it, there was noise in the left front wheel well. I returned it to them and they quoted me 178.00 for wheel bearing repairs sans the warranty. When I took the car back for this repair (I drove there, mind you), they take the wheel off, strip the bolt (?), and then quote me 600.00 in repairs for other things never previously mentioned, on top of the fact that my car is now undrivable. They had no choice but to provide me with a courtesy tow to another shop. Theyre incompetent, shady, and they will prey on those not knowlegeable about car repair. I WILL NEVER GO TO THEM AGAIN...AND IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR, YOU WOULDNT EITHER!

Dont get anything other than your oil changed here. Period. My girlfriend took her car in for a repair and was quoted almost $1300. They also tried to claim that they spent three additional hours on "diagnostic work & research". Their brilliant research was limited to reading the codes from the check engine light and printing out possible diagnosiss. I knew the repair quote was bogus, so I called back for her and the price magically dropped a couple hundred bucks -- still bogus for the part/labor. Long story short, the repair was completed at another shop for $430 (part, labor, and an oil change!). Nothing I hate more than a shop who takes advantage of people who arent auto-savvy. Bad news, sketchy service.

Amazing place to have service on your car, great prices on tires and easy install. Even when they dont have my specific tires in stock they always have them ordered in and set up an appointment usually for the next day! Theyve even given me rides back to my work when I dropped my car off so I wouldnt have to have someone follow me down there. These guys go above and beyond when it comes to servicing their customers. Ive always trusted them with any maintenance that was needed on my cars and they always provide a free inspection with recommendations on any issues that may need attention. This is a place I know I can trust and I am very picky about where I take my cars. Highly recommend these guys!!

a few months ago, i left my car there to get my "free" tire rotation. they called me and told me i had $1200 in repairs i needed. i sifted through the crap they were throwing at me...one thing they said, i had a belt that was badly worn and frayed-i thought that sounded important, so i authorized them to change it. When i came to pick it up, i asked the manager to show me which belt they had changed. He proceeded to point to the serpentine belt...which i had replaced less than 2 months earlier! And shockingly, the tech had already left, and the old belt could not be found! The manager was smart enough to give me a full refund without me asking...guess theyve been through that before...
