I wish I could rate them ZERO. Any 5 star ratings are made up by company employees to trick you into thinking they are a reputable company. When I scheduled my move with James Parisi - "General Manager" he was telling me their bad ratings were few and far in between, that a disgruntled employee made up profiles to give them fake bad reviews. What a bunch of crock. They took my $427 dollar deposit, he told me I had a 75% chance for pickup on Wednesday, if not it would be Thursday morning. 4:30pm Wednesday afternoon rolls around and these ppl havent even called me to let me know they werent coming. James P. tells me its because they dont make those phone calls to reschedule moves until 4:30 in the afternoon... Im thinking bull s... he tells me he will get with dispatch and call me back. 4 hours later he hasnt called me back nor replied to my text or my voicemail. I wait, noon rolls around on Thursday and still he has not returned my call, no one has. Keep in mind, if the pick up was Thursday, then it was supposed to be a first thing in the morning, except its noon and I havent heard from anyone. So, I call James P. and the first he says is "Who in the hell do you think you are calling me like this?!" Im floored because he was supposed to call me back the night before, Thursday morning was my pickup, no one has called me and when I call them at noon this is how he speaks to me. He tells me they will get to me when they get to me, that he has stomach cancer and doesnt need to be dealing with my bullshit attitude. That Im lucky THEY let me use them and that no one wants to drive to El Paso, that it may be Saturday before they can get to me...WTH? So I tell him "First off, Im moving to Austin, TX, not El Paso, secondly, I had plenty of options of movers, I didnt have to choose them" James then tells me "it doesnt matter, no one wants to do my move" so I tell him at this point, he doesnt know where Im even moving to apparently, hes yelling and using profanity with me which shows me they have no professionalism what-so-ever and a move four days past due is unacceptable so I need my deposit refunded so I can just do the move myself. He tells me Im not getting my money back and hangs up on me. Now, Im panicing and decide to do some more research, I feel like Im getting scammed. When I call no one picks up and there is no option to leave a voicemail. Ppl on the facebook wall that have stated that they have never received their items at all or they were severely damaged and many items were missing. James calls back Thursday and tells me no one at this point will do my move and they wont refund my deposit so I really have no choice but to let them take my furniture. Now I really feel that they are pushing so they can steal my things. I call my bank and notify them that I believe I am being scammed and explain the situation. This company is now under fraud investigation; fortunately, my bank is great and refunded the money to me and will take matters into their own hands.

Id give a 1.5 stars to Big Boy Moving and Storage. I moved from Miami to Atlanta and was very disappointed overall by the move. I was prepared to call BBB on them, but the guys who delivered my stuff in Georgia were great, so they saved the experience. Issues: 1. Pricing bait and switch: I was originally quoted about $1,800 by BRANDON for a full pack and move based on a phone estimate, much less than competitors. I had 2 competitors come and do an in-home estimate. I then sent that in-home inventory list and Brandon updated the Big Boy estimate to $2,300 for my 10th floor 2 bedroom move from Miami. All seemed to be fine at first. The problems started when the move crew arrived. ZEB, the move crew manager, is just a crook. The minute he stepped into our apartment he started huffing that the move looked much bigger than was on his paperwork. Since he hadnt even gotten past the front door when he started this hustle, I realized immediately they were trying to up-charge. Ultimately, this scam artist ZEB added $1,000 to our original move cost, with very little substantiation beyond an extra side table and two bar stools that werent on the inventory. I called sales (Brandon) and customer service (BARBIE) and they were dismissive and borderline rude. 2. Extra charges: Team arrived late and then tried to charge me for an addl day as they wouldnt be able to finish by EOD ($150). I was informed there was an additional elevator fee ($75) even though it was clear from the beginning I lived on the 10th floor of an apt bldg and of course an elevator would be used. After two phone calls to corporate, these fees were waived. Positives: The guys who dropped our stuff in Georgia - DRE and DOUG were AMAZING. Honestly some of the nicest and best movers Ive had. They truly went above and beyond to help me get everything set up and settled, even taking the time to advise me on the type of screws needed to rebuild a bed the other (move out team) said was not save-able. They then took the time to rebuild the bed for me, saving me hundreds in replacement costs. They are the only reason I havent elevated my complaints about Big Boy to higher levels. Overall, Big Boy is cheaper than the competition, but just know that your original quote isnt real, it will go up A LOT. That said, even with the extra $1k, they were still cheaper than the other quotes we got and our stuff did arrive in decent condition. So, proceed with caution and try to have them do an in-home estimate if possible. Their phone estimates are a joke.

They are crooks, stole, broke and went through my stuff, were dishonest, horrible customer service, would not return my calls. I made moving arrangements a month in advance with Best Price Moving and Storage who told last minute they were not available for the day of the move and that someone else would be picking up my stuff. When Big Boy Moving and Storage came to pick up my stuff, they charged me $180 extra for stairs, which was something that was already worked out with Best Price Moving and Storage- I told them the amount of stairs I had and he gave me a price accordingly and now this new company decided to charge me extra. I paid it because I needed to get out of the apartment and moved that day and then I planned on calling the company to explain the situation and have them charge me less for the delivery portion to compensate for the extra amount charged, They said how do we know you didnt make a deal with the driver. What kind of company is this that they dont honor their customers because they are concerned about shady deals like that. I waited 2 weeks for someone to respond to my phone call about getting my stuff back, I honestly didnt know if I would even see my stuff again and if this was a scam and I needed to file a police report. Best Price Moving and Storage wouldnt help me with anyone of this. I made plans with them, they contracted my job out to someone who would do it cheaper and took no responsibility. That is a scam. My stuff arrived after another couple weeks broken and missing. The drivers made me pay them in cash and wouldnt let me see my stuff ahead of paying them which I knew was a bad situation but they had my stuff hostage. They also didnt warn me before taking my money that stuff was broken and that 5 boxes, a desk chair, a plastic tub full of pots/pans/kitchenware was missing. I should have called the cops to be there. Additionally one of the boxes had a mix of mine and another persons stuff. They had clearly gone through our stuff and took out what was valuable and threw into this box what was not. I had a horrible experience with both places and would strongly recommend not using them. They are crooks.
