Lifting heavy furniture and heavy boxes as we all know is labor intensive; however proper training with regards to packing the truck and properly securing all items are key for a successful move and shows respect to the customer and his/her property. Relocations are indeed costly and a whole lot of work....having to deal with damage claims when all is said and done most definitely sucks. Unfortunately the piece of furniture that was the focal point of my living room design came in two pieces, with the oversized beveled mirror damaged and unusable. The two young men that packed the truck were fast, but of course we did our part and made pick-up as easy as possible for them by moving all the boxes to be loaded To one area of the apartment.. Having an energy drink in an aluminum can placed on my wooden night stand did not set well with me, nor did having me next best piece of wood furniture taken from the apartment to the truck uncovered to protect it from the rain. Trey and Stephan delivered my belongings on time and were very efficient at getting things properly placed in a timely manner. Some refresher training is needed. I had several heavy-duty very lightweight boxes that had only lampshades inside and unfortunately the heaviest boxes were stacked on top of lampshade boxes that were very light in weight. An extra-large heavy-duty box with heavy kitchen items was placed on top of my top-loading washing machine which likely would have caused an indentation in due time since it is in storage. Several screws could be found on the floor of the storage unit that belong to the bed rails....all in all it could have been a better move all things considered, but hopefully it is the last time I will feel the need to hire a moving company....how I wish I had gotten on the truck to observe the proper securing of things, before the truck was set in motion, even though I am certain beyond a doubt it would not have gone over well with the two young movers, and no one should have to supervise a costly move done by "professional" movers.

Start at the top, get left hanging there. This was the worst and most stressful move ever. The movers were supposed to arrive at 8:00 to get started, they called at 8:15 saying they were on their way and got started around 8:35. The guys worked hard, but not very good at packing a truck. When the truck was full front to back, it was only half full top to bottom which meant paying a lot of extra money for a second trip. We left our old home for the new one and unloaded, it was close to lunch time so I gave them each a generous tip and told them to take a lunch break and meet back at the old house later. They instead went to pick up a refrigerator we purchased from someone else, which was a good thing, and finished that up around 1:00 pm and we never saw them again. We had a brief afternoon rain shower, as is usual in Florida, and they refused to drive back down our dirt road unless I agreed to pay $500.00 to tow there driver out if he got stuck. They never showed up again. I was left hanging to do the rest of the move myself with my 65 year old mother, 9 year old son, and 5 ½ month pregnant wife. We were up moving in our small vehicles until 10:45 pm and, thanks to a kind landlord, spent an additional 6 hours the next day finishing the move. When we got back to the new house, I found a refrigerator on the front porch, but no sign of the movers. A week and a half later I get a bill from Summit stating the movers worked until 2:45, one hour and 45 minutes after they were last seen doing anything. For our troubles, they were kind enough to discount 1 hour but can’t provide proof of any work after 1:00. Don’t use Summit unless you want to do most of the move yourself yet still fork out well over $600.00. And, I won’t even get into the damage to our expensive leather sectional (1 tear and numerous scratches) and coffee table (large nicks on the edges) we found after setting up the new family room.

Tony, Cherie, Ronnie R. and Ronald worked nonstop for three days to get our house and sheds packed and loaded on the truck. They all had a positive attitude and were professional. I was very impressed with how professional Tony treats his crew and his customers making sure everyone was taken care of. We have a lot of glass furniture and more than once when I was concerned about its safety, Tony calmly re-assured me that the glass would be packed properly. They did a fantastic job. Thank you Summit Movers for sending us such an awesome crew!! All our belongings were in Summit Storage for several months while our house purchase closed. Toni, Ronnie and Lance packed the belongings from storage onto two large trucks and brought them across country and delivered them with set up to our new home. I am unpacking now and I just have to write and say, all the fragile stemware was wrapped so well and everything arrived in one piece. The moving guys are cheerful and supportive and the front office is so focused on getting things to us in a timely manner. They delivered the stuff exactly to the day needed. I feel like Summit movers are my new friends. They really do a fantastic job. I recommend them to anyone who wants the best move possible. Thanks guys!!!

My entire experience with Summit was phenomenal from start to finish, beginning with my initial contact. Everyone that I spoke with while planning my move was professional and sensitive to my specific needs and requests. They offered products and services to provide me with a high quality move at an extremely reasonable rate. When moving day arrived, my movers Stephon and Snookie, contacted me prior to arrival and they arrived during the time they indicated. They handled all of my items with extreme care. After watching them wrap and load a few of my items, I was comfortable enough to leave them at the home while I ran to the corner store for gas. They were both very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They treated my items as if they were their own and I know it is what is expected from movers, but the level of care and concern exceeded expectations. They informed me of what they were doing step by step and communicated with each other effectively to provide the most efficient move. I would not hesitate to use Summit again and would request these two if possible. I would definitely recommend Summit to anyone who needs the services of professional movers.

This was an absolute nightmare! First, our appointment was set for 1:30 pm. The movers finally arrived at 8:30 pm. These were two of the weakest looking high schoolers I have ever seen. They had been moving ALL day so showed up worn out off the bat. It took them an hour to unload 10% of my truck. I had to wind up jumping in with my boyfriend and brother to unload the truck ourselves and show them how to do their job. We finished 80% of the job ourselves. I was beyond furious that I just paid a company (and their travel charge) to do a job that me and 2 other people had to complete ourselves. I should have NOT been covered in sweat and that overwhelmed. Had we left these kids to do it all, it would have taken them about 5 hours. Maybe that is why they charge per hour and have an upcharge on the weekend. Additionally, they used MY time to move their truck AND poop TWICE in my bathroom, which was about 20 minutes of my time. Honestly, you would be better off hiring a couple of kids off of craigslist to move you than to use this company. I would never ever ever recommend them to anyone!!
