WORST PEPBOYS IN CHAIN, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE So 6 months ago I bought a rim online because mine was cracked. My new rim finally came in from BMW so I called around and Pep Boys said they would do it. I take the car in and he said come pick it up later on in the day. About an hour later I get a call stating that I need a new tire. I declined and said just put my Continental DWS ExtremeContact back on. I said the tire only had 2,500 miles on it. This is were the guy STRONG-ARMS me. I was speaking to some clown named Texas. He said that my tire had sidewall damage. I said not possible. My rim had a slowwww leak only loosing 2-4 PSI per month and I never let my tire drop below 30 PSI which is were my Tire Pressure Monitor triggers. Literally as soon as my TPM would trigger I would pump it back up. THEY WOULD NOT GIVE MY CAR BACK TO ME UNLESS I BOUGHT A $200 TIRE FROM THEM DIRECTLY. They said they refused to put my old tire back on because it was a safety issue. They said Id have to get it TOWED out of there. So I gave in and bought a crappy $200 Cooper Zeon since it was the only one to fit my BMW. The tire didnt even match. They gave me my car back with my 3x new continental and 1x crappy CooperTire. Then they tell me that me Tire pressure monitor was RUSTED on and they broke it off. They said it would be another $150 for that plus labor for the rim. I declined. This Pepboy caused me to never want to go to another pep boys again. This is why Pompano PepBoys stinks: - They makeup problems with your cars and force you to pay with there whole Car not safe to drive speech - They force you into buying items you dont need - They break items on your car - They give you your vehicle back in WORSE condition - TEXASS has terrible customer service skills and needs to stop writing fake reviews for himself on Google. - They have the longest wait lines for service. HERE IS THE BEST PART. I SOLD THE PEPBOYS-COOPER TIRE FOR $95 TO DIXIE TIRE TECHS TWO DAYS LATER AND HAD THEM PUT BACK ON THE CONTINENTIAL PEPBOYS SAID WAS DAMAGED. DIXIE TIRE TECHS SIGNED A SAFTEY INSPECTION ON THE WHOLE VEHICLE AND SAID THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO MY TIRE. I ALSO HAD DIXIE TIRE TECH FIX THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITER THESE CLOWNS BROKE. THEY PUT A $6 STEM KIT ON BECAUSE THE FOOLS PUNCTURED THE STEM ON THE TPM BY TURNING IT THE WRONG WAY. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT AN ISSUE AT ALL WITH THE ACTUAL TPM & PEPBOYS was trying to scam me out of money. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE. THEY ARE SOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL AND USE SOME OF THE DIRTIEST TRICKS IN THE BOOK TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK

DO NOT VISIT THIS PEP BOYS LOCATION My girlfriend brought her car in for an oil change. Prior to the oil change, nothing else was wrong with her car. At the end of the oil change, the mechanic informed her that she needed a new serpentine belt, and it would run $105 for them to install one for her. Luckily, she called me and I had her hold off. Seemed a little much for replacing a belt, and as I mentioned, there was nothing wrong with it when she went in. Sure enough, when she came home, the belt was squealing. Boy, thats odd. Now on her car, there is a slider slot for a bolt on the alternator. In order to tension the belt, you pry the alternator away from the engine until the belt is tight, then tighten the bolt in its slot. After her oil change, the alternator wasnt putting as much tension on the belt as it should have, causing it to squeal. The way I see it, this was either stupidity - mechanic didnt know how to tighten the thing down after futzing with it, or it was malice - mechanic wanted more money for an easy procedure. Either way, we will not be going back to this shop. Edit: After reading Will Listons review, it would seem this place has quite the racket going. As with Will, the Mechanic gave my girlfriend the whole Your car isnt safe to drive speech, trying to strong-arm her into paying for the belt installation. Shameful.

DO NOT GO HERE! These guys are horrible. I needed new tires, I shopped around & Pep Boys offered a good deal. Customer service seemed ok over the phone...I dropped my car off, they call me a few hours later saying the tires are finished, but inform me theres a problem with my clutch. I told them my car was completely fine when I had dropped it off, no sign at all of clutch problems or anything. They tell me its the beginning stages of clutch failure. I pick up the car, its running horribly, I can barely shift or even get it into gear. Pep Boys already had a quote for a clutch ready when I came to get the car. I work at a car dealership, I had our mechanics look at it, I also took it to a good & trustworthy shop that specializes in Acuras. They took out the transmission, & assessed the problem...they told me someone definitely beat on my clutch, and had to of been dumping and thrashing it to cause the problem. The springs apparently were ruined, and now I need a whole new clutch, costing me over $1300. I never recall a time driving my car improperly to cause this problem. These guys are dishonest & unethical. Think twice before getting tires & a lousy rebate at Pep Boys.

Scammers. Plain and simple. I made an appointment Saturday at 11:00 am because my car was making a horrible screeching noise when I turned on the AC. Didnt get a call ALL day Saturday, I finally called at 5:00 pm and they told me they couldnt look at my car until the following day. FINALLY they call me and tell me its my entire air compressor and it would cost 1800$ to fix it! I was livid they waited until Sunday after noon when everything was closed and I couldnt get another opinion. I took my car dropped it off at a DEALERSHIP this monday morning (you know a dealership where they usually over charge) found out it was just a cracked belt, they have replaced that belt and my timer belt for 500$!!!! pep boys either didnt look at my car or were purposely trying to scam me. DO NOT GO HERE! I remember once they even upsold me tires despite not really needing them right away but I let it side. I feel they saw a woman and thought itd be easy to go over my head. I gave a lot of my business to this pep boys in the past but no longer, Ill spend a few more dollars at the dealership so I know Im not getting hustled.

Worst customer experience Ive ever had at Pep Boys. If you want to talk to a normal rational human being dont talk to Texas as he only prefers BBW customers from the hood. Ask for Rick if you want to talk to a human. Texas sits on a big fire at work and never moves from his seat! Im sure he made manager by hussling all the hood rats from the local area and bossing around people from his tire seat! I would not recommend going to this store! I brought my car in the day before and by 5pm the next day they hadnt even done a diagnostic check! Poor service and by far the worst Pep Boys throughout the entire chain. Please thank Texas for this because he is an absolute non-professional when it comes to business. I had to get my car towed to a far superior place just down the street. Auto Tech and Body of Dixie highway is amazing!!! Triple AAA certified and the people are freakin great!! If you want to deal with a gun totin monkey go to Pep boys as theyll serve you up good! As a long time loyal customer of Pep Boys, Ill be happy to say Im never going there again!
