Car was overheating on the way home from the beach, and I pulled off the road to let it cool down. I just happened to pull into Repair One, and the manager was kind enough to give me and my wife a ride to a restaurant (we were on our way to get lunch) while they looked at the car. About 30 minutes later, the manager called back and advised that the water pump was leaking, the radiator was plugged beyond repair, and the thermostat was broken. The price to replace these parts would have been $1100 (parts and labor). The manager also advised that the technician who looked at the car was an ASE certified mechanic, and they knew their stuff. I am from out of state, but grew up in central FL, so my family is local to the area. Im not a car guy, but I still found it odd that there would be 3 simultaneous part failures. I ended up deciding to have my car towed to my fathers house so he could take a look. After telling the manager I was going to get it towed, he advised they might be able to save the radiator by flushing it, and that they would only have to replace the water pump and thermostat (a $600 job). I still opted to have the car towed. Dad and I ended up finding the following... -The water pump leak was non existent. We did find that the AC had a slight drip, but nothing from the water pump (dad smelled the water that was dripping, and it did not smell of coolant). -Radiator was functioning ok. The coolant was a bit low, but other than that it was OK. -Thermostat was functioning normally. After checking this, we decided to try and reproduce the problem. We drove the car around town for almost an hour, however we could not get the car to overheat again. During the drive back home (South Carolina) the car ran fine, with no overheating problems. I still dont know why the car originally overheated. I do know that Repair One did not correctly diagnose my problem, and attempted to charge me a lot of money to fix issues that did not exist with my vehicle. Not sure if this was due to ignorance, or an attempted scam, but either way Im glad I went with my gut and had my dad check it out.

Took my car in yesterday for an oil change and to check my brakes. Went to look around some stores while we waited. Received a call from the service writer to tell me that my rear brakes were metal on metal, my front brake rotors should be resurfaced, and that my rear shock was leaking - all to the tune of over $600. Well, there was no way that I could pay for that, and I told him to just do the oil change and I would have to wait until next paycheck to start working on my car. Received a call back about 10 minutes later from the Manager, who looked at my estimate. He knew I have a small son and told me that the rear brakes were an absolute essential, and it was a safety issue. He gave me a quite of $221 for the rear brakes, and oil change, which sounded reasonable. I went back to the shop, and waited for about an hour. He then came in and told me it was going to still be a while - and let me drive their shuttle car home. No questions asked, nothing - just take the car, and we will call you later. AMAZING. Nobody does that - you cant even get a courtesy ride from a dealership anymore. I feel like my safety was of importance to them, and the fact that money was an issue and they cut me a deal was great - and didnt pressure me into doing the other work that wasnt ESSENTIAL at that moment. Ill go back again.

From almost the moment I walked in the guy at the desk began to roll his eyes at me and treat me pretty rudely. I guess they dont like talking to someone that actually researches and has some idea what things should cost before they go in. These are the guys you wanna watch out for because theyre the shops that run on those books that estimate the time at 2 hours for a 20 minute job and then jack up the price of the parts. I called them to get a quote over the phone for a job and he said I need to inspect it first. Since I wasnt 100% sure what the problem was I let him, but I should have known better. Totally wasted my time and his. Quoted me $400 for a control arm. The part at Autozone cost $100 and for a shop like that it shouldnt take more than a half an hour. Its literally like 4 bolts. The guys answer to me is that he doesnt deal in discount parts except I know shops get huge discounts on parts because of the volume they buy so theyre ALL discount parts. He also was going to charge me $160 for an alignment. Im sorry but anything above $60 and theyre ripping you off. This was a $250 job.. tops! If you use these guys they will over charge you and once they know their little sales pitch doesnt work theyll actually get mad.. Save your time and your trouble

Great Experience, Professional Staff, ASE Certified Master Technicians they fixed my oil leak on my 2003 Honda Accord that 3 other local shops that I spent alot of money with never did fix it. RepairOne inspected my car, showed me the problem in the shop, took pictures of the leaking area and then explained everything to me what was going on with my car. J.J. gave me a reasonably price repair estimate, gave me a ride home and called me later to tell me the repairs was going on well, also they found a small nail in one of my tires and fixed it. When repairs were completed they called me and gave me a ride back to the shop the best part was the price quoted was exactly what was given to me no surprizes, all fixed in the same day. I must say that I will always go back to RepairOne on Dunlawton Ave and I plesaed to say no more oil leaks on my new driveway . Thank You, Robert
