I’m here to share with you the worst experience I’ve ever had getting my car fixed. On Saturday morning after finishing my 9 hour overnight shift at work I get to my car and notice the left front tire of my 2000 Toyota Camry is flat. So lucky me I get to change it. I put on the full size spare put the flat in the trunk and get on with my life. On Wednesday Morning August 20th after having worked another 9 hour over night shift I decide to head to the tires choice at 10742 Big Bend Rd, Riverview, FL 33579 at 8 in the morning which I have never been to before, to get 2 new tires. I walk in to the showroom and the manager whose name I find out later is Josh is on the phone in the other room and he is cursing up a storm not in anger cursing but talking to a friend cursing... F@#k This F@# That. I waited so long for him to get off the phone I got out my cell phone and started looking for other tire shops in the area it took about 15 mins of me standing there. When Josh got done talking to his buddy he came over to me and I explained I got a flat and need two new tires. He quoted me $187 “out the door”. I also mention that my check engine light was on and can you tell me what that’s about. He said ok It will be 1 ½ hours. I sat and waited and waited and waited, at about the 2 hour mark I tracked down Josh and asked how much longer, he went in to the area where they fix the cars and never came back and told me. 45 mins later he says “the tires are done and the check engine light was on because of a loose gas cap. Then gives me a list of things to fix that will be $600 “out the door” I explain that I don’t have the time to fix these things because I have been up for 20 hours. Josh says ok tells the mechanics take the car off the lift. Other 20 mins go by, finally I get the bill and low and behold it’s not $187 “out the door” it’s $279 there’s a charge for engine analysis. Yes I paid 89.00 for Tires Choice to tell me something I could get for free at Discount Auto Parts. I was too tired to argue, I got my keys and went home. When I arrived home a little voice inside my head told me to check the spare in the trunk. I open the trunk and what do I see???? The flat tire still in there where I left it!!!! This genius changed the full size spare and left the flat in the trunk. So I get on my cell phone and call Tire Choice and explain the situation. This time I get a man named Pat. He says Josh never told them that the flat was in the trunk. I get back in my car and drive to Tires Choice, where Pat is there to greet me and take the flat tire from the trunk and put the rubber from the spare back on. Then he lets out this gem “I thought it looked like a spare” wow that guy’s got upper management written all over him. So after Pat is done with the tire he rolls it back to my car and puts it in the trunk and walks away……Did he properly secure it with the hardware that Toyota supplies so the spare doesnt move when the car is in motion? No, I got to do that. Did he put the tire changing tools away in the trunk in a neat organized fashion? No I got to do that. Did he put the hub cap back on the new tire? No I get to do that which I have no idea how, I guess I’ll just Google it later. This was the most disorganize auto shop I have ever did to. I will never return to another Tires Choice.

Currently there are about 5 places that do tires in this area. I called them all and Tire Choice was the cheapest. So, heres my story, I called on a Wednesday around noon and told them that I would come in for a set of tires around 4pm the same day. Things happened and I got there at 5pm, the guy there said he couldnt do them today because he cant get the tires now since the warehouse is closed. HUH??? I said "you didnt order the tires when I called?" "NO, wed need a deposit before we order tires", he said This bothered me because 1) he didnt ask for a deposit and 2) why couldnt he just order the tires and have them there. I do understand that he probably has lot of people saying theyll come in and never do but ask for a deposit then. When I said " You didnt ask for a deposit when i called, I would have gladly given you one." He replied, "You said youd be here at 4" So I guess this is what would have happened if i got there at 4. He would have ordered the tires, I would wait for the tires to get there and then wait some more to get them installed. This is not acceptable. I told him well come back on Friday morning and offered to leave the deposit. I later found out that he charged a $400 deposit on about a $800 job, i thought that was kindof steep but let it go. I also had 2 tires that were leaking around the rim that I wanted him to seal up and he said no problem. Now its Friday and my wife gets there first thing in the morning. Waits over an hour and then notices a courier drop some tires off and then a few minutes later her truck goes into the shop. I can only think that he didnt order the tires untill we were there even though we left a deposit 2 days prior so he would have the tires when we got there. 30 more minutes go by and the truck is still on the ground. She checks on it and they say 1 more hour. I come pick my wife up at the shop, an hour later we get a call saying the trucks done. Were paying and I ask about the 2 tires that I wanted sealed up. "oh, we forgot". Needless to say I wont be coming here again. Weve always used Riverview Tire on 301 and never had a problem. Against my better judgement I thought id try the new place close to my home. Never again, Ill be going to Riverview Tire from now on.

Originally I went to Pioneer Tire Pros on 301 to get an LOF and Transflush done on my truck.. Well, unfortunately their transflush machine was down and I needed it done that day so the gentleman ( I forgot to ask his name, forgive me) called another one of their shops and confirmed that they could do it today. I went to The Tire Choice, which is a new acquisition of Pioneer Tire Pros and spoke to Karl. Karl listened to what I needed, asked me a couple of things about the truck which made me realize I hadnt had a tune up on it for over a year, so I went ahead and got the tune up, LOF, transflush and throttle body clean. I was going on an interstate trip with the truck so I decided to get it all done. Karl got it to the back and had them start working on it and it was the only vehicle there but soon after other people started coming in. Im one of those owners who cant sit still so I kept looking in every half hour or so.. and each time I did there was work being done on the truck - GREAT! less than 3 hours later it was all done and test drive complete. I paid, got in and took off at the next light I came to. What a difference a tune up, LOF , transflush and throttle body clean will do! Great work by the mechanic, friendly service with Karl, J, and mechanic I spoke to. I will make that my goto spot for my truck maintenance now. As for the reviews where people felt slighted by Karl, I dont know because I wasnt there to witness, but Karl was very polite to me and other people I observed when they came in. He has a bit of a dry comic wit when he talks, at least he did with me, and I understood that and I responded in kind.. I think if you dont understand that you might take that as offensive, but its not meant to be.. Just my two cents.
