If there was a way to give more than an "excellent" rating, I would gladly take advantage of the feature for this auto repair business. Perhaps there is no other widely used business in the world that offers so many opportunities to take advantage of a customer than a mechanics or car repair business. The vast majority of people just do not know much about how or why their car is not working properly. I have spent my whole life dreading the endless dance from mechanic to mechanic, trying to find someone I TRUST. Well, I am extremely happy to report that I have found that diamond in the rough with Lance and the rest of the crew at Professional Auto Repair. After my old car completely died, and I was facing some serious financial issues, I was forced to buy, yet again, another very used car. When you spend just a little over $2,000 on a car, you know that it will need breaks, a tune-up, tires rotated, etc. I am now dealing with my third, separate car issue and am beyond happy knowing that Lance and Professional Auto Repait are taking care of it. They dont try to sell you on extra stuff. They are the most honest people I have ever come across in this business. When I brought my car in to have brakes replaced, I told them to replace it all. However, after driving it and putting it up on the rack, Lance came back into the perfectly arranged waiting room and told me that while the rotors were bad (I expected), the brake pads themselves were fine and didnt need replacing (I didnt expect that). Any other car shop would have gladly charged me the extra labor for the brake pads, especially because I asked for them to be replaced. Not only are these guys honest and very good at what they do, but their customer service is simply the best. They take walk-ins (or drive-ins) when there is an emergency but they are incredibly good about scheduling appointment times that are most convenient for you. In the past, even with an appointment time, I have always had a friend follow me to the auto repair place so that I didnt have to wait while it was being fixed because it always took a very long time. Not here. I love the efficiency with which these guys work. If Lance tells you he can have you in and out in under two hours, you are out of there in less than two hours. Plus, I have gotten a lot of work done on my computer while waiting there. Their Wi-Fi signal is strong. They offer plenty of complimentary soda and drink options. Lance is always checking in to make sure you are apprised of what is happening with your car and making sure you have your coffee or whatever else you need. I will always use these guys for any future car needs. I will gladly recommend them to anyone and feel a bit of pride about knowing that I have found a rare gem in Atlanta and am passing it along to my friends and family. The days of extensive internet searches and calling around for the best deals are over. Professional Auto Repair on Monroe is the best and only place for me.

I used to think this place was solid and honest and had even taken my car there multiple times. The last time I was there, they called with the bad news that one of my ignition coils was misfiring and needed to be replaced. Here is the problem--I asked them how much to replace the faulty item, and they said it was not possible to determine which of the six were misfiring, so they had to replace all six for $1000. I asked multiple times if there was any way to test which one was misfiring and they told me each time there was absolutely no way. I took their word for it. They changed all six, car was working, Im out $1000. Fast forward just over a year later and my car is acting up and making a familiar sound. For convenience, I took it to a different place close to work. One of my year old ignition coils is misfiring, specifically number 3---I know this because they are in fact able to test which one. Professional Auto is either dishonest or incompetent, and I will never give them my business again. They fell right into the negative connotation surrounding mechanics--took advantage of someone who doesnt know cars, over-charged, and then the part went faulty a year after.

Ive brought my 2002 Volvo XC in for service twice in the past year and had excellent experiences. Both times Ive been called within two hours of dropping off my car (I didnt schedule appointments) with a full explanation of the work I could potentially have done, the cost, and--most importantly to me--the implications of not having the work done. Lance has been very honest about which repairs were urgent and which I could hold off on. On my most recent visit, they informed me that my suspension needed about $3,000 in repairs, but admitted that this likely exceeds the current value of the car. They know Volvos well and helped me think through the cars future and the cost vs. benefit of having the repairs done. I will definitely continue to trust the team at Professional Automotive Repair for all of my service needs.

I had an awesome experience with this place. I took in my car because it had been having problems starting for a few weeks. It would randomly just click instead of starting up. I told them I thought I needed a new starter but I didnt really know. Lance and his guy took a look, tightened up a few battery connections, and it seemed to be starting with no problem at all. He told me he was happy to replace the starter if I really wanted it but the best bet would be just use the car for a few days and see how it goes. Many other mechanics wouldve gladly taken the $400 in work. It meant a lot to me that he was really looking out for me. Theres a lot of untrustworthy people in this industry so Im very happy to find a mechanic with integrity.

Always timely with their work, and very honest. Its comforting knowing that I dont have to worry about not being ripped off in any way. Theyve always told whats wrong, how important it is to be fixed, and what the cost is- and the final bill has never deviated from what they told me it would be. Would highly recommend.

Ive been taking my Volvo here for over 5 years. Theyre reliable, accommodating, transparent, and helpful. When possible, they help me keep repair costs down, including sourcing my own parts. Im confident that they help me stay several steps ahead of the quirks my car might display next.

Its been hard finding a really good and trust worthy mechanic, and I found one here. Theyve worked on both of my cars, one a Toyota 4Runner the other a Mitsubishi Galant, and both have been stellar repair jobs. I would recommend this shop to anyone living downtown or intown.

Ive been to both locations and they both offer excellent service. Their rates are fair and theyre honest and transparent when it comes to your car issues. Having driven mostly old Volvos for 15 years, I can say with confidence these guys are the best around.

They did a great job on my car, and the price was pretty good too (although with a volvo, you always wish it were less). I have tried a few different volvo places in town, and these guys were the nicest and most professional I found.
