Its been almost 6 months since I dropped off my truck to be worked on because it had severe (what I thought were clutch or transmission problems) driving problems. When it was there they determined it was the master and slave needed replaced. So i spent a little more than a grand getting it fixed. When I got it out of the shop it would not go into gear and was driving worse than it did before. They said I needed to occasionally pump it until it got better (I never had that issue to begin with). So I took it back to them and asked them to bleed it properly since I paid so much. They did and it still had to be pumped before driving. However, I still had the problems that originally brought me to the shop. On my own I replaced the spark plug wires and coil pack and spark plug wires, in the process finding water in 2 of the spark plug wells. That solved the issue that I was having... brining me back to the reason that I dropped it off... they did not check anything other than transmission fluid to make their diagnosis. So I wasted 1k for a problem I could have resolved for 200 myself. When I got it back there were about 3 scratches on the driver door one about a quarter inch wide and 3 inches long and a 1 inch long scratch of a slightly smaller width. I know they primarily focus on transmissions but I think it is pretty crappy that they took me for a ride to get money from something I wasnt having problems with. Lastly, today I was scrubbing the interior which reminded me that I never went back to have them reinstall my shifter assembly properly with the screws that they lost which reminded me i need to write a review, but what really pissed me off was when i was degreasing a few of the plastic components inside that i found a missing master and slave cap for the fluid... I will never use them again. They dont care about fixing problems. when I told them that I fixed the driving issues with replacing the spark plug wires, spark plugs and coil pack, and asked why they didnt check it; he said they could have checked that if I asked them to... Crappy Service. When I left they asked me to leave them a good review online. I didnt leave one because I was not happy about the trouble. So today I decided to write an honest review.

Corvette owners listen up! This review is coming from an owner of a C6 2005 Corvette in which I have always had a Corvette mechanic service my baby. To take my C6 somewhere else was a huge leap of faith which the Team at AAMCO (Duluth) delivered on in their service, quality of repair and assurances throughout their actions that I/my car was taken care of. Thank you Steve and Ron!!! Introductions aside, so here is my story… After researching/reading 2 hours’ worth of online reviews looking for a transmission shop to do service on my car, AAMCO Duluth reviews kept catching my eye repeatedly. No two shops are created equal. Case and point, the AAMCO near me in Decatur was extremely poorly reviewed, time and time again. Do your homework people!!! With that said, I brought my C6 to the AAMCO (Duluth) for a quote on transmission service. After my initial quote with them, I had a second quote done at the Chevy Dealership (off of PTI), which I had been going to for the past 8yrs. Needless to say, they wanted over $4,300 for a remanufactured trans so this is where the leap of faith came in with giving AAMCO a chance. For those of you whom have not had the experience of having a transmission rebuilt, Ron walks you through it in a manner as if you are both going through the experience together. That alone built trust with me, and the assurance and confidence that their repairs were going to be done right! I preface this since my experience had a few unforeseeable bumps in the road where I had to bring the car back in. I may have fallen into the “less than 1% failure rate” with the rebuild service, BUT this is where Ron and Steve shined and truly kept to their word!!! Yes… kept to their word of making things right or as others have said “professionalism, quality service, integrity, good value and genuine caring about you as their customer”, which is why I recommend the Duluth location only. This whole experience has made me a customer for life. Bottom line is that my C6 feels strong, shifting and chirping the gears as if it were a new car. Cheers!

Fellow drivers! We all know what its like to show up to a new mechanic with a rickety car and a tight wallet. The uneasiness, the reluctance to accept that on top of everything else going on in your life your automobile is now less functional than the average bumper car. When my 2003 Saturn L200 started leaking coolant and needed brake work I took it to this AAMCO shop on a recommendation. Though the shop was clearly busy with other eager customers, Steve and Ron fit me in to the schedule to get my car diagnosed as soon as possible. After its evaluation Steve and Ron, understanding that I knew little about cars, took the time to explain to me what was going wrong in mine (it needed a new water pump among other things) and even volunteered background information on the mechanical purpose of the components that were damaged and similar cases they had seen in the past. As unexpected new problems continued to surface in my aging car I continued to take it to AAMCO Duluth. Every time when I received the bill for the parts and labor at the end I had no problem handing over the money (even on my tight budget) because I knew exactly where it was going: to a couple of honest men doing their best to get their customers back into our cars where we can drive safely and confidently knowing that all the right fluids are flowing and all the right plugs are sparking. If youre looking around for a shop that will treat you with respect and provide reliable service for a good price, AAMCO Duluth is where your search ends.

I had the transmission in my 92 Honda Accord rebuilt last year by Mr. Transmission in Lilburn. The transmission started malfunctioning again, the D4 light was flashing and the car would resist acceleration through 1st and 2nd gears making it very difficult to drive. I took it back to Mr. Transmission, they said it was in failsafe mode and that I needed to replace the TCU(transmission computer) and they could get one for me for $400.00. I informed them that I had already swapped the TCU from another 92 Accord and yet the same problem still exists. They did not diagnose the car or pull any codes but maintained that it was still the computer. I did not agree. I took the car to Aamco on Pleasant Hill Rd in Duluth. I explained the issues to Ron and Tim. They inspected it at no cost and identified the issue to be caused by a faulty transmission solenoid. They gave me a call and a quote before proceeding with the repair. I paid what they quoted me and everything works great. I have to say this is a great team, they are professional, honest, thorough an earnestly concerned about correcting the issue and that is hard to find in this industry.
