I dont like posting bad reviews on small businesses, so I held off posting anything for a while. But ultimately decided my story definitely deserved to be told. This isnt a place your likely to stumble over Sat morning when youre out looking for a mechanic, because they are only open Mon- Fri 7am-6pm. But, we live about a mile away and when my car started overheating we knew we had to pick a close place. My husband looked up Friendship Auto. and they had three 5-star reviews, and with it being a small locally owned business he figured it be the perfect place to go. My car needed a new radiator & they said the thermostat would be replaced with it and insisted the automatic steering fluid desperately needed flushed. So that was that, and after about a $900 bill, we picked the car up. I drove it close by around town for a few days (grocery store, school) on the 5th day my car started smoking as I pulled into the school parking lot about 2 miles away from friendship auto. I called friendship auto and explained what was going on & how there was antifreeze everywhere. They told me to add water to the radiator & if it ran right out it would have to be towed. Thank God I knew better than to open a hot radiator! So, I called elsewhere for a ride and waited, deciding what to do. When my ride got there we went back out to the parking lot & after looking around I realized there was a huge gush of antifreeze in the turning lane and a trail all the way to my parked car. I called friendship auto back and told them it was going to have to be towed, to which they replied "so.... do you have AAA or....?". And I said "I thought you were going to take care of it" and they said "oh, well, yeah, we can". So I told them to. But when I got suspicious and called back they made it clear the tow would be at my expense. So I said forget it, I called my insurance roadside assistance, and had them tow it. I followed the tow truck driver to friendship auto where I was greeted by the lady owner who I explained everything to and she was very nice & apologetic (the only one). I asked if it would be fixed for free & she said the typical thing "of course!... If its the radiator and not something else". Got a call later, they didnt explain anything to me, just said they fixed my car. So I asked some questions, found out a radiator hose had come loose and it was fixed free of charge. I picked it up with little talk (& no apology) and went on my way. But later, friends I told my story to started questioning whether they used new hardware, hoses, etc. when they replaced the radiator. And it did make me wonder. Someone explained that other fluid lines flow into the radiator as well. Which made me question the urgency of getting the power steering lines flushed- maybe that would have been incidentally flushed anyway by removing the old radiator & refilling with new fluids? Im obviously not an auto tech, but you shouldnt have to be to get your vehicle fixed. I have always had better luck at dealerships and it never seems to be much more than when I try to save money at smal auto shops. Im sticking with dealerships.

I met with Dan and his wife when they bought the place a little ways back and have had nothing but great service ever since. I have a small business down the street from them and started taking my fleet vehicles there a year ago and have not had any problems. Started taking my personal vehicles there 6 months ago and again, no problems. Their mechanics are very social and forthcoming with any issues that your car has and tell you what needs fixing right away, and what can wait a little. There is no better feeling than taking a car in and someone telling you exactly what it needs and what it doesnt. Most people in good health can suffer a minor heart attack when a shop tells you need a large amount of money to fix something that doesnt need fixing. Its hard to find good trustworthy shops to perform work on your car, but when you do, you tend not to care how far you have to go to get you car fixed right the first time. They are the real deal and dont sell you any gimmicks to make a buck. New car, old car or custom build, they have the tools and the knowledge to do the job. Most repairs and maintenance are done in as little as an hour to as much as a whole day, but its done right and at a great price so its all worth it in the end. If you have the time, its much easier (for me at least) to just drop it off and let them do their thing. They are busy every time I go there, so that makes me feel like a lot of people trust them and are happy with what they do. My personal cars are newer, but I would rather take them there instead of the dealers because the dealers are not personal at all and make me feel like I am customer at a deli counter with a number ticket waiting to get some sandwich meat.

I went to Friendship Complete because the AC stopped working in my Corolla and I needed an oil change. The oil change was very reasonably priced, in fact it was less than half the cost of what I was charged at Valvoline. They checked out what was wrong with my AC, free of charge, and gave me a quote the same day. I told them that I was unemployed, so I wasnt looking to get anything done that my car didnt actually need. They were very understanding and made note of it in my cars report. They called me, told me I needed a new AC switch, and gave me a quote. With parts and labor it was MUCH cheaper than what I thought it would be. . Fast forward to a few days later, I bring my car in for the actual repairs, drop it off, a few hours later one of the mechanics calls me and double checks with me what my initial price quote was. He wanted to verify before he started to make sure he didnt do any extra services, and so I wouldnt get any surprise price jumps. That extra step of communication I greatly appreciated, not all mechanics do that. On top of that the girl at the front desk was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I felt like a valued customer there. They didnt take advantage of me with surprise charges, and I didnt break the bank! If I wasnt moving out of state, they would definitely be go to mechanic!

Danny, Susan, Glen, and everyone else Ive interacted with are always friendly, courteous, and accommodating. Theyre always quick to call to let you know whats going on and share a timeline. Theyre conservative in what they try to repair in order to keep cost down while making sure the car is in good working order, and only add work as new issues are found (invaluable in my opinion). I was stranded in rush hour traffic on Monday (in my 8th month of pregnancy), and Glen arranged for a prompt tow to get me off of the road and stayed with me until my husband could pick me up. Then my car was ready by close of business Tuesday (yesterday) and couldnt have run any smoother on my commute on Wednesday morning and ever since. It feels great to know I have a mechanic I can count on that truly lives up to the "Friendship" in the name!
