My experience was this. A person named Janice (not sure of the spelling, no name tag) came to my door. I told her I was not interested. She was extremely persistent. I gave her my name. She then plugged the information into her tablet and proceeded to get more info and place an order without telling me anything about the package. I hadnt said I would take it. I said I needed time to process the information and would contact you if and when I decided to take the plan. I said I felt like I was being bulldozed into it. Then she got rude. Started laughing at me and bullied me, saying that shed already entered the information. I said no again. She shook her head, laughing and walked away. She heard no several times. I know that sales personnel are told not to take no for an answer. But do you ever think about how that makes people feel. Its like a date rape on the way. How many times can I say no and not get victimized? This is a really bad method of sales. I thought Id consider it, but frankly I will never do business with someone who makes me feel bad about myself, who makes me feel little for standing up for myself. Tell Janice to look at it from a womans perspective, assuming she is one. She

This company is horrible, their service is horrible. The only thing decent is their tech support technicians, which they treat like crap anyway. If a technician comes to your house, and does a really good job..but it still has issues and they have to come out again with another person, that person gets in trouble. Overall the only good thing about this company was that some of the technicians that came out were very nice, knowledgeable and really did try. They are one of the worst ISPs I have ever had and the second I get a chance I am changing companies. The service does not work for more than a few days without starting to mess up. Then they start acting stuck up when you have to call them out several times like they are "doing you a favor". Like I said, since I have had their service they had one technician that was spectacular. Everything else about this entire company is horrible.

Ive had Charter for 1 year. The install guy left wire clippings & trash everywhere throughout my house & crawlspace. When asked if he had Charter the install guy laughed & said "hell no!" That was my red flag! The Internet is horrible, works only sometimes. Cable comes in & out, frequently looses picture & the guide doesnt work. My rates have went up & service declined. In paying for a home phone (thats never been used) because its cheaper to have them together. If I drop the phone service then my rates go UP $40 per month!!! I have searched for other providers but apparently Charter has a monopoly on Smyrna Ga. Satellite providers want me to cut trees down for cable! (Not happening!) So Im stuck with this company. I do not recommend Charter to anyone unless you like over paying for crap service & customer service!!

I am kind of surprised to see all of these negative reviews. I have been with Charter for a year and 1 month. Just internet. I knew after a year my bill would go up (promotional price for the 1st year). That didnt bother me. My internet has always been strong. Every time I call someone, they are extremely nice and helpful. I have moved from one place to another and the technicians that came to help me set up in both locations were super nice and quick. I have never had issues with Charter. Im calling to add cable service now. XFINITY could never come through for me when I had them. If anything changes, then I will change my review. However, I dont expect it to. :) I am hopeful. And no this is not a paid review for the skeptics out there. lol!

Not sure why all the Negative comments, but Ive been with Charter for the past 8 years and Ive had excellent service with my Internet speed as well as excellent customer service when needed. Now to be fair to Charter (or any Internet service provider), if youre not getting great download speeds AND youve connected a WiFi Router to your ISPs Modem, then its likely your Router thats the issue. ISPs cant guarantee speeds through other MFGs Routers. There are just too many factors which come into play to degrade the bandwidth/signal. While you may not be happy with the CS Reps inability to resolve Router issues, its really not the their responsibility beyond their Modem. Just my 2 cents, but Charter provided me a service I m happy with for now.

Im really not sure why there are so many negative reviews. My experience has been fine. Actually, Im saving a lot more money than when I was with Verizon and getting slightly faster internet service. I havent had any service interruptions since joining and they dont have contracts (thank God). But trust me, Im knocking on wood as I write this. Cable companies have ALWAYS pissed me off so Im surprised I havent run into any issues yet (been with them 3 months). I will say, I hate that these guys are the only option in Smyrna. Id like to see how quickly Fiber can come into the area. But for now, Im cautiously giving them 4 stars. By the way, I bought my own wireless router so maybe thats been an issue for some folks?

We have had Charter cable for 15 years. Recently, we had interrupted service and our cable box turning on randomly including in the middle of the night. We called Charter for a repair. The repairman came out and said it was a problem at the main box and he could not repair the issue. After 2.5 months of this problem we asked Charter for a credit. We spoke to two supervisors and Charter refused to credit us stating it was just an inconvenience. We are looking forward to having other options in the near future. In the meantime, if anyone in Smyrna, GA is receiving great service from another provider, please post as we would very much like to move our service

Ive had Charter internet for exactly one month and 8 days; my service was connected 9/20/2014. Overall the internet has been ok. A couple times the modem they gave me to use for their internet service has crapped out and rebooted and been stuck in a boot loop for several minutes; my only guess is theyve remotely pushed firmware updates periodically. Ive put up with that, its whatever. Today I get a call from them trying to sell me on TV and phone service. I stated I only had internet because I only wanted internet... then the rep proceeded to ask me what TV I watch... None, thats why I didnt order TV service. Fingers crossed Google Fiber rolls out soon

I have only Charter as a choice for my service provider. I wish that would change! They are really pretty horrible. I have complained and called about my slow or non existent internet since December of 2013. Presently it is August of 2014, and I have not seen much improvement. My speeds bounce from .6 Mbps uo to 29 ish. I saw 40 once for about 30 seconds last week! I am paying for 60 Mbps. I have been issued so many tickets and escalations that I cant count them any more. The billing department was not authorized to issue a decent credit because they said I hadnt complained enough?? If you have a choice, do NOT use Charter.
