I am an older disabled lady without transportation. I rent and use fbp water electric and Internet and it costs me 62÷ of my income. It doesnt leave much room for emergencies! But dont EVER count on FBP to show ANY compassion. They gave me ZERO credit when my rental property repeatedly had plumbing problems and my bill was over $700 more than once. I took the invoices to prove, filled out their forms and received a letter denying me any assistance. I had to pay 100÷ I admit Im always a month behind because of that to this day. But I always pay. I do like to eat and bathe occasionally! Today I was sitting on the porch at 9:30 am when they pulled up. Asked me if I was behind and omgoodness with the holiday I had lost track of the date. He said I could call and take care of it he wouldnt turn it off if I did it within 30 minutes. I called but I had already gotten the cash to take to them so now there isnt enough on my card... I explained to no avail until I lost it...theyve given me till noon to get it paid... but I had to lose it to get that. I know its late... I always pay ...but do you have to be so rude and without compassion. I go without enough food, proper healthcare, 0 outside entertainment, 0 new clothes, gifts for others and many other things most take for granted. It just doesnt go that far. I need shelter and the ability to stay warm, have water, and cook. FPB is the most expensive utility Ive ever had and Ive lived in several cities in several states. Seniors and disabled should have to pay based on income because it outrageous what they charge! I rather live off the grid but thats an investment of its own. I made it in time but they reneged. ..forcing me to pay a $69 TRUCK ROLL FEE!!!! FPB stands for F-ING-PEOPLE-BECAUSE WE CAN! 0 stars! This company is the WORST! Looking forward to moving away from here ASAP!!!

Absolutely horrible at every service they offer. Over priced, awful customer service, & a complete monopoly in the city of Frankfort. When you receive your bill each month, the charges dont even make sense nor are they consistent. And good luck trying to get someone to logically explain them to you..it is laughable. Or maddening. Depending on the day I guess. I have had to make a trip to their office every month since service began (6 months now) with no good end result other than someone rude unable to explain anything to me at all. They will tell you your bank draft attempt failed & their records show your bank account is closed or doesnt exist. But, when u go in, no one will show u a receipt of the failed transaction & they will cash 5 checks on that same said "closed " account... Thank goodness I was able to find a home far away from Frankfort with cable & Internet services almost half their price with wonderful reviews from the public. If only the plant board wanted to do good business & actually please their customers as other companies do...just read the reviews. They are ridiculous! I will never do business with them again & I would recommend them to NO ONE.

Frankfort Plant Board is monopolized, therefore they feel no need to offer the city of Frankfort anything but dated services. If Time Warner could come in, it would put their cable and internet services out completely. The fact that a scrolling TV guide you have to wait for, still exists is pure comedy to me. Direct TV is high but I will take it any-day over FPBs first generation cable services. If you are looking for high speed internet I would be investing in a mifi or hotspot device. The internet offered from FPB is honestly sad and hard to even stream anything without it lagging, which makes it completely useless. I have a Verizon hotspot device in place of the FPB services and the Verizon hotspot is what I find most compatible for my home internet right now. I will be honest its high to stream from a hotspot device but Frankfort Plant Board isnt exactly cheap either. So until Frankfort Plant Board upgrades their services drastically I am going to keep my direct tv and hotspot device.

3rd update: The frequency that the internet crashes is maddening. If I allowed a faulty product or service to continually be sent to the public I would be fired. I believe that is what the internet section of this municipality needs is some jobs to be opened for capable management. Better help = better service. Original post: I am required to give one star to comment and that is undeserved. I wish I had another option to choose. Internet is not worth buying as it drops out regularly when it isnt stalling to buffer. Cable is as much as college tuition. This town needs other choices for services. Update: It seems to have gotten worse. Pathetic. 2nd update: Still very bad. I do not trust the internet service to do online bill pay as it crashes regularly and for no reason. Not worth the price and unreliable. Hire someone who can shape this service up or sell to someone who can provide a real product. Again, pathetic.

The only reason I am giving FPB 2 stars is because my connection has been fairly reliable as far as up time goes but that is where it ends. The price for 30mbps down 3 mbps up is way too high (currently $68 for top tier). For example Time Warner (now Spectrum) in Nicholasville, ky has 50 mbps down and 5 mbps up for $64. The lack of faster speeds is an issue, for my household and what I use the internet for I need faster upload speeds which are not available. One common problem is during peak usage hours my speeds have dropped more than half of what it should be. I expect speeds to drop but by more than half is a bit unacceptable. There are basically no other options for internet in Frankfort which is odd, you cant even find DSL. I dont know if lack of competition keeps FPB from upgrading their infrastructure but it really needs it.

Terrible internet service. I pay for 20 megs and regularly get less than 3. I have complained multiple times about this, yet no one seems to care. The after hours tech support line folks are friendly, however one of them told me that getting "8 megs while paying for 20 is great for what I am paying for." No contracts say that you should be happy with getting less than what you pay for. Somehow, every time I call it works for a week great, and then goes back to being terrible. Outages happen anywhere from 8 AM to Noon to 10:00 at night. If you need to use internet at home, just dont move to Frankfort. Theyre the only people who can give internet service here. About as dishonest, unethical, and unreliable as it gets. Youre better off to get a hotspot and pay those fees before going with this terrible company.

We call them the Frankfort Monopoly Board. I uses them for internet, electric, water, sewer and there service has been doing down hill. Internet (poor) I pay for 10Mb down and most of the time only get about 5-7Mb down. In the evenings my internet connection seems to drop for hours at a time, and there are a few days a month that nothing works. I have placed many phone calls to their external call center, that seem to fix the problem magically but doing this 5 times a month gets old. They have escalated it back to the frankfort plant board but they will make sure to call in business houses when you are not home. Electric This seems fair Water This seems fair Sewer (estimate of water usage) Over priced compared to lexington, morehead, st louis. ... pretty much everywhere.
