Im finally cutting the cord. I just subscribed to Netflix, Hulu, and SlingTV, and purchased an HD antenna, Roku box, and Chromecast. Ill be saving $100/mo. and actually feel like I live in 2016. In order for Blue Ridge to change their practice, the consumer needs to speak up by making a stand and cutting the cord. I grew up in the Reading area and I am used to the competition between Verizon and Comcast - when companies compete, the consumer wins. The fact that Blue Ridge is the only game in town means that they feel they can overcharge for service because you cant go anywhere else. I have their Dream 60 package - 60mbps Internet, HD+, and TiVo receiver. The highest definition I get is an overcompressed 720p, which looks like garbage on my 60" Samsung Smart TV. On top of that, $20/mo. for a receiver? I might as well buy my own TiVo, at least it would be a CURRENT model. And on that note, their TiVo never stayed connected to the Internet for more than 10 minutes so I could never watch my shows from a mobile device. I have also noticed at times that I will only get half of the bandwidth that I pay for. The introductory price was $150/mo. That seemed reasonable for the service I was getting. But after a year, the price spiked to over $210/mo. I need the higher speed Internet for work and Internet streaming, but there are alternatives for TV besides cable. When I called customer service to talk about alternatives to me cancelling, the lady didnt make any effort to keep my business (though she was very nice). She suggested I cancel channels 100-200 to save $12 (?). Their equipment is old, bulky, and ugly and is terrible to use. In 2016, with all the technology available to us as Americans, Blue Ridge lazily refuses to update into the 21st century. If Verizon FiOs or Google Fiber come to the Ephrata area, its game over. Speak up and cut the cable!

If you can avoid this company, do it. Run. Overpriced internet for the product they offer. It doesnt matter what package you buy, you will ALWAYS have a miserable upload speed. No matter what. It doesnt matter what download speed you set up either, because it will drop down to dial-up speeds at random. The customer service representatives have a few pre-written responses and never try to actually help with anything. If I have problems with my internet connectivity being 1/4 the speed I am supposed to be getting, it is always MY fault and never theirs. They recently introduced this cap on data, which is great! Dont you love paying monthly for a product, but being told not to use it too much? Recently I received a price raise in my monthly bill and they claimed that it was because I was receiving an introductory rate that they had reviewed with me. The wonderful thing is that this was never mentioned to me. In the past when I had Comcast I would receive a notice in my bill that the price was going to change, but there was no warning with Blue Ridge. I Reviewed my previous bills going back a few months and there is not one word about this. I already thought they were overpriced for the little service that I was getting, but this is even worse. Now why dont I switch companies? Because I literally cant. This is the only ISP in the area. They take full advantage of their little monopoly. The service is so bad that I have put in requests to every imaginable ISP asking them to come to our area. Avoid this company.

Im giving it 1 star because you cant give it zero stars. The only reason anyone has Blue Ridge is because, like me, they live in an area that has no other internet providers. This very poor service makes me want to move. They upgraded their TV service to provide TIVO. Youd think this would be a good thing. However, because of their ridiculously low bandwidth caps, and astronomically high overage charges you cant use the TIVO services, like NetFlix without spending hundreds of dollars additionally a month. Its ridiculous. Blue Ridge gives you only 250gb of data - regardless of plan you buy - and you cant buy any additional data. The overage is $1 a GB. Compare that to Verizon FIOS (the best service anywhere in my opinion - several of my family members are lucky to live in an area that gets this service) - which has no real CAP (and doesnt send out warning letters unless you get really ridiculous, like over 3 TB), or Comcast, which does CAP around 300gb, but only charges $10 for each additional 50gb (Id take that if offered). Likewise, the upload speed is terrible. Blue Ridge gets away with this because they offer services in areas, like Ephrata, PA, where people have no other choice. UGH. Come on Verizon, ComCast, or AT&T - please offer services in Ephrata, PA so we can get rid of this terrible provider.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. They have .4mbps upload speed for 30+ dollars, which is when its bundled with cable. (40+ without the bundle) This is extremely slow, and the upload speeds dont get any better as the prices go higher. The "Dream speeds" are extremely slow compared to any other company in Pennsylvania, and I wish my landlord would let us switch. Its the only reason I deal with the extremely high prices. As a gamer and someone who wanted to do Twitch streaming, I realized that the streaming could never happen because of this failure of a company. They drain so much money out of people and refuse to increase their bandwidth or internet speeds. The 250GB a month cap is ridiculous and nearly impossible to not go over when you run a Facebook page and a Youtube channel. Ive managed to do that so far, but for how long? 0/5, avoid if you can. So slow for the price. If youre going to move, make sure you dont get stuck with these fools as your provider, or youll regret it. Not joking. If someone on here gives a 5-star review, theyre being paid to do so. Be wary of that, because they literally speak like an advertisement commercial. (Looking at you, Cal M.)

I will say that I do have at all times, two people in my house using internet, but we get their dream 100 100mbps/I dont know I dont care. Sometimes in a day, some of us wont use that much internet/cell combined. Right as of this moment, I am the only one in my house using internet to write this review. Im trying to connect a consol to the internet for the past three hours, but blueridge litterally is too incompetent to be able to connect one bit. The prices are insane and you dont get what you pay for. Not meaning that the speed:price rate is dumb(which it is), meaning that you litterally will not get any internet at all. Ive contacted my local government to see if anything can be done with simply talking to the company and if not, Im taking legal action. The monopoly over my area is illegal and the fact that it cant be fixed is pathetic. If you can get another company, get it. If you cant, Im genuinly telling you this. Do not get internet. Half of the time, you wont be able to use it anyway. You will watch your wallet starve and you wont get anything out of your internet anyway... truly disappointed in how scumy whoever runs this company must be
