I have been taking my cars to Higgins Transmissions for years and they have always been professional, dependable, and most importantly honest and fair. I was about to get my car repaired at another auto shop but was surprised with how much the quote was. I sent Higgins the quote I received and explained to them what happened to my car and I saved over a thousand dollars and the car ran like a champ after their head mechanic Jason fixed it. Their customer service is awesome as they do a great job of communicating to me what is wrong with my car and they go above and beyond to get my car back to me when I need it. They are a family owned business and they truly care about taking good care of their customers. I have referred a number of my family and friends and some have left their long time mechanics for the type of professionalism and service they receive at Higgins Trans.

I question that these guys are mechanics. Brought in my 97 Taurus with a bad speed sensor. Its a tough job and a hold down bolt was previously drilled out. The body of sensor rusted in place. All this was explained and written for mechanic. Quoted $250. Got 3 calls, 1 thebolt is broken, we cant fix it. Called back, got them to try, car has 65k miles.2, they called back and said they would do it for$325, I told them to go ahead. 3rd call was a voice mail I didnt leave until closing saying they decided it was too much trouble, come get your car. Went late the next day and battery was dead. Car left on grass in very dark area. Jumped car , got part and fixed myself in about 2 hours. Friendly, but incompetant passers changers. Find a real mechanic.

Honest and knowledgeable personnel. I took my ford Taurus with broken transmission, the price of the repair was a little bit over the average, but worthy, my car is running like a new car. They did not try to sell me parts that I did not need, however they did a full inspection on my car. Higgins transmissions is a very well establish business that does not need to rip you off to stay in business, also they do any kind of car repair. I highly recommend this establishment, especially for women and guys who does not know anything about cars and for people that have been ripped off by an unscrupulous mechanics.

This is my go to neighborhood mechanic for many years. I actually have never had to use them for a transmission issue but they have done several coolant systems, brakes, and basic maintenance. Always honest and very fair. Best thing is they never upsell you on items you dont really need.
