I have had Verizon, Comcast and Brighthouse as cable/internet providers. Brighthouse is definitely the WORST by far. I understand that most cable companies do not have good track records when it comes to customer service, but Brighthouse takes this to a whole new dimension. For instance, one time, they disconnected my internet accidentally when they were auditing my apartment. I had to wait a whole week before they could get someone sent here to reconnect it, and then that person didnt show up. I called in, and they said they cancelled the appointment because there was an online solution. However, once I explained that my internet was completely disconnected they realized that I obviously couldnt use any online solution. So they said they would send someone again in a couple days. That person also did not show up so I called them again and this time they were able to reroute someone to come help me ... it took the person all of a minute to screw in the coax cable that they had disconnected in their lock-box. He said that the previous technician must have misread his audit sheet. They promised to prorate the week and a half that I lost their service, but on the coming bills, I got no credit. Finally I called in and told them that I was still waiting for them to prorate it, and the employee gave me a hard time because I couldnt remember the exact dates until it finally showed up randomly on her computer. Needless to say, I would NEVER buy their service except that they have a monopoly on all of downtown Indianapolis and even have made deals with many apartment complexes to ban satellite dishes. Aside from their terrible customer service, I have many other complaints. Among them: my bill has steadily increased by $10 each year, ESPN seems to get really laggy every monday night (I have heard of this happening to other people who have brighthouse as well) or whenever there is a big game. They provided me with a router and set it up with WEP encryption, when I tried to switch to WPA, the modem would need reset once per day. I called them about this, and for their solution they told me that their service is incompatible with WPA ... even though on their website it says that WPA is the preferred encryption method. They almost lost ESPN this fall, they lost FOX for awhile so that some Colts games couldnt even be watched with this service! They promised access to ESPN3 by mid September on their website -- then it changed to Early November, then it finally came the day before Thanksgiving -- which I would certainly call Late November. I have had TONS of times where my area has had outages for days at a time. They charge $20 per month for DVR, which I find too pricey. Their internet is usually running at speeds of less than half of what they advertise ... I know that the advertised speeds are usually overcalculated, but I pay for 5 Mbps and am usually getting around 1 Mbps in the evening. I have called them for tech support and waited for over an hour. I could just keep going on and on ... essentially they SUCK so bad I would go back toCOMCAST over them if I could.

Bright House sent two contractors to our business to replace a modem and they stole 9 Playstation 3 games and never returned the modem to their office and did not write it on my paperwork. A police report was filed on 7-24-10 and criminal charges are pending for Robbery/Theft against these scum bag losers. On 8-11-10 I began calling and emailing Karen and received no response until I notified the corporate offices of Advance Newhouse of the issues and lack of assistance/response. All of a sudden I was receiving a call from Ms. Washington at the Indianapolis local office. She really had no idea what was going on and sounded like she was thrown into the middle of this with no information or knowledge of the issues. I explained to her what was going on and why I was upset. She asked me to give her up to a hour and she would investigate this and call me back. I agreed. A short moment later Karen decided to finally respond to me. She stated they were waiting for a copy of the police report and could not issue a check until this was completed. She stated for the first time to me they were having issues finding the police report and either the case number was not valid or the officer did not file the report yet. I called IPD and confirmed this is not true. the case number is valid, the report has been available and that Karen was "lying" to me as they informed me. I then responded to Karen informing her the settlement agreement, her emails and recorded calls with me she never stated anything about needing a copy of the police report nor is is a term in the settlement agreement. I informed her she could not modify the agreement and this is not what we all agreed to. Karen Broach and bright House cable are and have been avoiding this matter long enough and need to be held accountable for their errors, lies and misleading. The settlement agreement never stated as part of a stipulation the check issued would not be issued until the police report is received. Karen expects me and my husband to further inconvenience our lives to do her and Bright Houses attorneys jobs and adding terms that we never discussed or agreed to. they realized they messed up in the settlement agreement and failed to cover their butts in several aspects and now are using this in an attempt to violate the settlement terms, not comply and further aggravate our lives. They have no legal right to modify the agreement or continue withholding funds entitled to us they agreed to release two weeks ago. I will send copies of all emails and the settlement agreement sent to us and a copy of the one I signed, in which you can see all that was done was I fille din the blanks their attorney left for me and signed it as well as got it notarized.FCC law also states calls may not be made to a residential line before 8:00 AM and I have record of 3 made on 8-11-10 around 6:30 in the morning.

If you have AT&T and are thinking about switching to Bright House... DONT do it!! I was with AT&T for years and had to switch to Bright House and they (BH) doesnt even begin to compare to AT&T!!! I had 45mpbs internet with AT&T and everything was great! I could watch and/or download HD videos with no problem, while my two sons were in their room on XBox Live... However, with Bright House, have somewhere close to 100mbps and Im lucky if I can get through one Youtube video with it pausing, not to mention I have to watch it on a low quality (no HD)... Also, when it comes to their cable... Definitely doesnt compare in that aspect either!! Im just here to try and save your behind!!! You will thank me later. Whatever you do, ALWAYS keep BH your LAST option and only if you have to go with that option. -Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the fact that the internet drops at the very least 3 out of 7 days/nights per week. On the days/nights that the internet drops, it doesnt only drop once and then its back... It drops between 3 and 10 times throughout the entire day. Sometimes youre only without internet for 10 minutes, other times its hours, and there have been many times Ive gone without internet overnight! I know, 10 minutes not that big of a deal right? Wrong!! Many people rely on their internet for school and/or work! We all know that there are many people who take classes online, and those who are fortunate enough to work from home... 10 minutes can cost someone a lot! Another example, and this s a personal example, this happened to myself. I was in the middle of a very important job application process. I had already done my interviews for a phenomenal job and couldnt wait to take my tests that I had to take online- just knew I would pass with flying colors! Or so i thought... And would have had m internet not gone out right in the middle of my typing test!! Because this test was for a state job, I could not retake the test for 6 months! So, yes, I am blaming BH for the fact that I did not get the job that I already had a start date for! smh I was sue to start that next Tuesday, all I had to do was complete the tests they had emailed me, and I was good to go! I literally cried for days! I couldnt believe that I was not getting a job I had been trying to get for over a year, I was finally going to be hired and because of a bad internet connection, was not able to start work that following Tuesday. I type 60+ words per minute, to pass this particular test, you only had to be able to type 28 wpm lol I can do that with one hand! But, again, because of my internet connection, I didnt get the job!
